A Christmas Wish

If I had one wish to be fulfilled this Christmas it would not even be Lily James and Keira Knightley abducting me for a 24-hour love session, but for every U.S. Marine guarding our nation’s embassies to put down their guns and declare a 48-hour strike against the rotten regime in D.C. that chose a black lesbian drug smuggler over an American ex-Marine rotting in a Russian jail since 2018. The black lesbian basketball player who was chosen over the Marine used to remain seated during the playing of the national anthem, or if she happened to be standing up, she would turn her back and make sure everyone noticed

Alas that good US marine story is not that pat, Trump refused to trade for him for very good reason. Do some research on him. Don't fall for the hype

Thank you, #2 for that valuable link. Whelan is NOT an American, just a foreign computer hacker who got access to the USMC. Thank you, Pres. Trump for knowing that before we did.

Marines do a lot more than guard embassies and they don't pick and choose the Americans for whom they are willing to fight and die. Whelan went to the Middle East, not to engage in combat but to steal money and enrich himself. One of the greatest Marines in the history of the Corps, Chesty Puller, a Marine's Marine, while on an inspection tour, said, "Take me to the brig. I want to see the real Marines." Chesty was referring to drinkers and fighters, not criminals who would steal from real Marines and lie about it, like Whelan. Bad conduct discharged Marines are not the "brothers" of combat Marines. There are serious indications that Whelan was paid by Russia for information, making him a spy as well as a liar and thief. At least Taki didn't feel the need to lie about Griner being a man. Trump was right in not trading for him, a man who did far worse against the U.S. than sit during the playing of our National Anthem.

Most Americans know something has gone terribly wrong—and very abruptly—with the United States. They are certain that our wounds are almost all self-inflicted. (snip) Crushing national debt and annual deficits, spiraling food and fuel costs amid “normal” seven-percent-plus annual inflation, bread-and-circuses entitlements, a nonexistent border, a resurgence of racial tribalism, pandemic violent criminality, and humiliation abroad—all these pathologies are easily cited as symptoms of a sick patient. Our crises are not as the Left maintains—a nine-person Supreme Court, the Electoral College, or the filibuster—all distractions from existential problems the Left largely created.

President Trump Warns GOP House, The Alternative

One thing I dislike immensely about republican punditry, specifically as it relates to internal dynamics, is their tribal narrative engineering. The example from Breitbart about President Trump’s discussion of the next speaker of the House is a case study. Take out Matthey Boyle’s woven narrative; and remind yourself that Boyle is writing from a position of DeSantis advocacy; read just the direct quotes from President Trump about the risk of House Speaker if the party doesn’t align to support Kevin McCarthy, and the position is pragmatic. Essentially, if not Kevin McCarthy, and the House vote is dependent on Democrat support, the result will likely be worse.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has neglected to provide in full certain disclosures requested by members of the U.S. Senate relating to the department’s growing role in “counter-disinformation” activities, and this failure is particularly egregious in light of the co-equal roles of the executive and legislative branches of the government, two senators have charged in a Dec. 15 letter to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, and Sen. Over the past two years of his presidency, Joe Biden has completely reshaped American foreign policy in the Middle East — and the consequences have been predictably dreadful. On Friday, Chinese dictator Xi Jinping and Saudi Arabia’s crown prince and de-facto leader Mohammed bin Salman signed a series of economic agreements totaling $50 billion, marking a major step in the countries’ growing relations. According to a joint statement released after Xi’s multi-day visit to the kingdom, the two countries have agreed to enhance collaboration on a wide range of issues vital to their respective economic and security interests, including energy, trade, and terrorism, among others.

Yes, the headline isn’t really fair to Thom Tillis, the North Carolina Republican senator who wasn’t on the ballot in last month’s midterms. You’ll forgive the unfairness, perhaps. But life isn’t fair. And honestly, Tillis’ lame-duck-session amnesty gambit is deserving of much worse than the headline above. Here’s Stephen Kruiser at PJ Media: One of the more frustrating aspects of being a conservative Republican is the constant need to look over one’s shoulder for stealth attacks by moderate squish members of the GOP on important issues like health care, gun control, and amnesty for illegal immigrants. Such ideological shivs in the back always arrive under the execrable guise of bipartisanship.

Per RedState’s Sunday evening reporting, Elon Musk put out a poll asking if he should step down from Twitter, promising to abide by the result. Well, the result is now in, and a majority believe the newsmaking billionaire should go focus more on Tesla and SpaceX. (Tweet) 61 percent say Musk should “step down as head of Twitter.” That’s not surprising given that Twitter has always been a majority left-wing site. When talking about a poll that got that much play, there was no chance the result would be anything different. Fearing a huge winter upswing in the number of COVID and flu cases, government officials are once again calling on Americans to don their masks to keep the deadly viruses from spreading. But some take it a step further, suggesting even children 5 and under should put on masks. The latest I&I/TIPP Poll asks: Is that a good idea? The answer, probably not surprisingly to anyone, appears to depend heavily on a variety of factors, including where you live, your race, your gender and your political leanings. So, at the very least, we’re likely in for another politicized debate over the practice of masking, this time for the youngest among us.

NEW YORK -- There are new fears that New York City could be hit with a surge of migrants. This week, Title 42, a policy that has kept many asylum seekers from entering the country, is set to expire. Mayor Eric Adams is warning that there could be upwards of 1,000 migrants bused into the city each and every week, if the policy is allowed to expire. It's not clear how he arrived at that number, but it is clear that there is concern the system could be overwhelmed. The U.S.-Mexico border has been packed with migrants desperate to get in.

The absurdity of the concept of reparations for slavery, an institution that ended several generations ago, is beyond mind-boggling. But there’s a blatantly cynical reason for the sudden lurch in that direction: formerly reliable Black voters are now slipping away from the Democrats. This also explains Biden’s recently expressed profuse generosity towards the nations of sub-Saharan Africa. What is also painfully obvious is the lame, demagogic pandering that is the Democrats’ knee-jerk response, especially to a defecting constituency: just throw money at them and that’ll keep ‘em on the reservation.
