Conservatives we lost in 2022

Original Article

This was a hard year for conservatives. In 2022, we mourned the loss of a host of influential and important thinkers on the Right. The intellectual wing of the conservative movement has always been a vital force for inspiring, presenting, and driving home conservative ideas. The conservatives we lost in this past year all played a part in this dynamic exchange, in newspapers, at think tanks, in academia, on the judiciary, and in entertainment. The voices they provided helped conservative ideas get heard — and for that we can be grateful.

Conservatives did lose, and are similar to the Progressives/Liberals who are roughly 24% of the Democrat party, but have an out-sized voice. You will not get many conservatives in places like CA, IL, and Maine, for instance, but there are many Republicans who happen to be more moderate on many social views. Unfortunately, many won't for for anyone if they aren't 100% in agreement which allows Democrats to need fewer votes to win. Remember, nearly 50% of Catholics vote for Democrats, so the abortion issue is not something they demand must be adhered to, as I suspect many feel it's a decision up to that woman and her God. Now, some reading will say it's murder, and can't be forgiven, but I'll bet she'd be absolved of her sin if she asked and was contrite. And, that person may agree with 95% of all the other issues, but some won't see through that part but will settle for the Democrat who doesn't agree with 100% of your views. You need to be pragmatic and remember, even Romney voted for all of President Trump's SCOTUS nominee's, and maintained the filibuster. Only be having the Majority can you govern.

The two on the list who hit me the hardest were Lucianne and PJ O’Rourke. Both were heroes of mine. O’Rourke could tear one to shreds and do it in such a way that it sounded polite and at the same time it was hilarious. My favorite quote… "At the core of liberalism is the spoiled child - miserable, as all spoiled children are, unsatisfied, demanding, ill-disciplined, despotic and useless. Liberalism is a philosophy of sniveling brats."

It is always good to remember the phrase...."God never closes a door...He doesn't open a window"...I truly believe the new MAGA candidates will step up...it may take time...but schummer and nancy eating at a fine Chinese restaurant on Peking duck and laughing at US while they put forth another outlandish spending bill...proves to me they are characterized as "let them eat Peking duck"...just as Mariotte Antoinette said of the starving peasants..."let them eat cake"...so will the democrats get so full of themselves that they will fall....

No disrespect intended, but my ONLY loss was Lucianne. Ladies, it really doesn’t matter how mean or tough a man is (or thinks he is), there’s usually a wise, warm, tough, and beloved senior female who was the first to teach them many of the most important lessons in life. For those who lost that person while they were young and never had them replaced (as if possible), this site is full of the most patriotic, huggable and honorable women on the net. Lucianne tapped into the like-minded American legends who raise our best, from engineers to emergency workers, and I’ll be forever in her debt (as I am to many of you but can never directly express it). Having lived in heavily misogynistic cultures throughout my life, it’s been clear to me for a long time that what truly sets this nation apart is the strength of our women (especially women of faith).

For me and our house, it was Lucianne and Rush Limbaugh for more than 30 years! Rush and Lucianne during the Clinton years was a hoot! Funny, ill reverent and politically savvy! What wonderful memories! We sent Lucianne a family photo and she sent back a note thanking us and saying we had a nice family. :) What a wonderful, kind lady. We miss her a lot. Sad.

I don't visit this site without missing Lucianne Goldberg. She meant much to all of us and to me personally. What grace she gave us all. That Tevi Troy had to mention all those men, just so Lucianne could join the list is fine with me. As a poster mentioned above, she's the one I cared so much about.

To the shock and horror of the left, The New York Young Republican Club gathered last week to celebrate its joyous solidarity in the face of overwhelming evil. Gorgeously clad attendees of the 110th Annual Gala strode past mobs of protesters braying the usual insults (“Nazi!” “Fascist!” “White Supremacist!”) from behind police barricades. “One party in the country wants to put the other party in a gulag, and the media carries their water,” Donald Trump Jr. told the crowd, delivering somber analysis with perfect comic timing. “We have a political party pushing pedophilia, as the schools attack mothers…

When I watch TV with my husband Steve, a former athlete, I see superb ballplayers in basketball, baseball, and football exhibiting what immense discipline went into their sculpted bodies, what sacrifices they made to achieve their goals, what tremendous––almost superhuman––talent they have in effecting that three-point shot from mid-court, that spectacular triple play, that “you’ve been Mossed” catch in the endzone. The Biden administration has quietly finalized a rule allowing employers to funnel workers’ 401(k) funds into investments that support woke causes that address issues such as climate change and diversity. The Labor Department approved the rule last week, just two days before the Thanksgiving break. It will affect roughly 150 million workers and $10 trillion in assets covered under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974. The rule says asset managers and retirement plan administrators should consider environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) factors when selecting investments.
