Kansas supreme court justice resigns from
law school over climate hostile to free speech

A justice on the Kansas Supreme Court will no longer serve as an adjunct at the Kansas University Law School due to what he sees as a weak response from the administration when it came to a conservative event. “I write to let you know that…I will not be renewing my teaching relationship with KU Law next fall,” Kansas Supreme Court Justice Caleb Stegall wrote a letter to the dean of the University of Kansas School of Law. Stegall (pictured) had objected to students and administrators’ reactions to a lunch-hour with a lawyer from the Alliance Defending Freedom, sponsored by the student chapter of the Federalist Society.

Liberals don't debate. They utilize law fare. This poor soul had no choice. To continue voicing opposition to the 'right' woke policies would have exposed him to law fare. The libs at the Law school would have drummed up some foolish woke violation and reported him to the Bar. The Bar, likewise made up of turbo liberals would have disbarred the Justice. Life ruined and nothing accomplish. At least of the Supreme Court he can rule against the liberal policies and remain above disbarment. Never forget, conservatives bring pillows to a gun fight against liberals.

I think the entire KU environ, including the med school has been perverted by 'woke' ideology and behavior. But why I should have been surprised is anything but.

He should have forced the issue by promoting everything that the school stands against. With a standing and reputation like that, he should have forced them to fire him. That's a show I would pay to see.

I'm guessing he was growing weary of his association with these leftist professors and their dean anyway. He found a way to leave with a truly impressive flourish of free speech principle. The dean of that law school should be embarrassed that her arrogance and illiberal, closed-minded, hateful attitude have so brilliantly been exposed.

A well-known Catholic priest and incendiary leader of the anti-abortion movement was removed from the priesthood by the Vatican, according to a letter from Pope Francis’s representative to the United States that was obtained by The New York Times. Frank Pavone, who leads the advocacy organization Priests for Life, and was once a religious adviser to former President Donald J. Trump, was dismissed from the clergy on Nov. 9 with no possibility of appeal, the letter states. The letter included a statement about the removal, called laicization, that it said was approved by the Dicastery for the Clergy, a Vatican office.

San Bernardino County residents voted for officials to study the possibility of seceding from California as more grow increasingly tired of the state’s far-left policies. The county approved the advisory ballot proposal, which was voted upon in November, earlier this week, the Associated Press (AP) reported. San Bernardino’s Board of Supervisors’ next step is likely to form a committee that will study if state and federal public funds were fairly distributed with local governments within the county.

Recently disclosed internal communications between top election officials in Arizona's Maricopa County in the immediate aftermath of Election Day reveal that they struggled to reconcile a discrepancy of almost 16,000 in outstanding ballot totals. The governor's race in Arizona was decided by a margin of just over 17,000 votes. Maricopa County was plagued by numerous issues with ballot machines at many of its vote centers on Election Day, resulting in delays and long lines. Prior to a Maricopa County press conference with Board of Supervisors Chair Bill Gates and Recorder Stephen Richer on Nov. 10, Richer sent an email to Elections Director Scott Jarrett, Gates and others about a significant discrepancy

Earlier today, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell discussed the greatest problem for the Republican Party as it exists with voters. Allowing people to vote is not in the best interests of the Republican Party. If the politicians could just devise a government system that didn’t need voters to support it, things would be much better. As noted by Mitch McConnell, “Our ability to control the primary outcome was quite limited in 2022 because of the support of the former president. Hopefully in the next cycle, we’ll have quality candidates everywhere.”

Trump-Endorsed Arizona Attorney General Nominee Abe Hamadeh filed a lawsuit on Friday, contesting the fraudulent Midterm Election in Arizona. Hamadeh is down by 511 votes out of more than 2.5 million ballots cast in his race, and there is an ongoing recount to determine the winner. The Gateway Pundit reported on Friday that Kari Lake filed a lawsuit to nullify the election for Governor and approve a full audit of signatures and machine failures. It was revealed by a Runbeck whistleblower in Lake’s filing that hundreds of thousands of ballots did not have any chain of custody documentation.

A few weeks ago, Julie Kelly tweeted that FBI director Christopher Wray has scheduled a “bureau-wide call with all 36,000+ FBI employees” this month. This is without recent precedent and if true, I hope it’s to announce his resignation. He should, of course, because the agency he heads has been engaged in more lawbreaking and unconstitutional conduct than I can easily document in the space allotted me here. I can imagine the blather he’d spout along the lines of resigning to avoid a witch-hunt which would damage the reputation of the agency.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an emergency appeal from former President Trump seeking to shield his tax returns from House Democrats, capping a multiyear legal battle and paving the way for the release of his tax returns. The order — which had no noted dissents — was in response to an appeal Trump filed with the Supreme Court late last month after a lower court declined to reverse its ruling mandating that he turn over his tax records to the House Ways and Means Committee. Chief Justice John Roberts had temporarily blocked their release in a Nov. 1 order while the court considered the matter.

Last night the NY Times published a very lengthy and detailed story looking at the entire Russia war effort and how, thanks to Putin’s own arrogance, it became a nightmare for the soldiers sent there. The story opens on one brigade full of recently mobilized soldiers who’d been assured they would never be sent to fight on the front lines. Naturally, that was a lie. Fumbling blindly through cratered farms, the troops from Russia’s 155th Naval Infantry Brigade had no maps, medical kits or

My wife and I have become avid fans of American football. The Canadian game left us cold. Three-down football is a bore, the larger field resembles a soccer pitch, and the caliber of players is necessarily weaker than that of their American counterparts. Four-down football is far more interesting, eliminating the need for constant punt exchanges and allowing us to examine and enjoy the complexity of strategy, play adjustments, lots of audibles, and the evolution of play formation in general. We have our favorite players and teams. I appreciate the toughness and camaraderie of the Tennessee Titans before their seemingly inexplicable run of losses.
