Ronna McDaniel is about to draw a challenge to her post as Republican National Committee chair. Harmeet Dhillon, a RNC committeewoman whose firm represents Donald Trump, is prepping a bid for party chair, according to two people familiar with her planning. Dhillon has been talking with fellow RNC members about a prospective run, and those close to Dhillon say a formal launch could come within the next few days. “After three successive terms of underwhelming results at the polls for the GOP, all the while with leaders congratulating ourselves for outstanding performance, I feel that we owe it to our voters to have a serious debate about the leadership of the party"

Harmeet is a supremely well-connected and faithful to the Republican Party. Oh the RNC is cagey getting her to run for this as the establishment will battle to keep Lindell or Zeldin from getting the post. Harmeet is a brilliant attorney, a very close friend of Nikki Hailey and Laura Ingraham. She would be better than Ronna as RNC Chair but she will not buck the GOP establishment.

FTA: "The committee’s 168 members will hold a vote to determine the RNC chairmanship..." I doubt any of the RNC voting members feel threatened by anyone. These people are generally "establishment". They're not going to elect anyone that will upset and otherwise disrupt their fundraising. Lindell, Zeldin, and perhaps Dhillon come with agendas. It's not the $50 checks, it's the millions donated "friendly" PACs by companies and the mega-rich. Mitch had $362 million in his war chest. McCarthy had $192 million. The Wisconsin senate race cost $185 million all tolled - and it was only the fifth most expensive. PA was almost $400 million. The 2020 elections involved an estimated $14 BILLION. That's where the national committee game is played. And no "crazy" will be elected to mess it up.

I think Mike Lindell has earned this position of RNC Chair. He has given his time, his money, his position to go after the corrupt voting machines and the corrupt politicians who are behind the rigged voting. Lindell has a track record of fighting for honest elections. Isn't that what the RNC was supposed to be doing? Or was it ? We like Ms. Dhillon and her representing Republicans, but don't know if she's won many battles in court for conservatives. We don't know if she's a fighter for election integrity, and against these corrupt voting machines and not just another high paid lawyer. She may be terrific, but Lindell has the receipts! Lee Zeldin is another lawyer that we admire because he fights for law and order. Couldn't there be a place in the RNC for Congressman Lee too?

I agree that Harmeet Dhillon would be am excellemt choice. Sorry, much as I like Mike Lindell I don’t see his being effective in this role. Lee Zeldin should run for office again.

Contact your state's members on the RNC. If you don't know who these people are, check your state's GOP website OR the RNC website. They are readily identified! Those 168 members referenced in the article represent you, if you're Republican. Mine was the first to let me know about the potential of Harmeet Dhillon and she wholeheartedly agrees that three strikes at successful results for Republicans means Ronna McDaniel is out.

Lee Zeldin is by far the best choice for this job. He’s never going to be elected to anything in New York because, it’s New York, and he’s too great a talent to waste. And when he becomes chair he needs to hire Scott Pressler first thing.

We need new leaders. Dhillon will get a lot of support, and may end the compromise victor. We need a new Senate and House leader. We have had years of the same, and are being told they will be different. But they haven't done their job, and we need new leaders that will do their jobs.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected an emergency appeal from former President Trump seeking to shield his tax returns from House Democrats, capping a multiyear legal battle and paving the way for the release of his tax returns. The order — which had no noted dissents — was in response to an appeal Trump filed with the Supreme Court late last month after a lower court declined to reverse its ruling mandating that he turn over his tax records to the House Ways and Means Committee. Chief Justice John Roberts had temporarily blocked their release in a Nov. 1 order while the court considered the matter.

His show ended in January. "I’ll tell you all this, if I lived in Pennsylvania, I would have already cast my vote for John Fetterman for many reasons," Winfrey said during a virtual conversation with community leaders.

Some New York lawmakers are renewing the push for a state law that would lay the groundwork to pay reparations to black residents whose ancestors were enslaved. Proponents gained steam after a task force in California last week recommended that the Golden State shell out $569 billion in reparations to slaves’ descendents there, or $223,200 apiece, because of lingering housing discrimination practices. A previously proposed New York measure called for creating a commission to study the impact of slavery and providing reparations but failed to pass the legislature. It is now being revised, backers said.

Reports surfaced two weeks ago that Florida Republicans are considering changing the state’s “resign-to-run” law so Governor Ron DeSantis could throw his hat in the ring for the 2024 presidential nomination without losing his governorship. It is one sign among many that DeSantis, or those close to him, are thinking about taking on Donald Trump in the primary. A word of warning and wisdom to DeSantis: Don’t do it. DeSantis is a promising politician with a real future on the national scene. He should want to be president. But not yet. DeSantis needs to understand his true self-interest. Running for president in 2024 isn’t it.

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) won reelection Tuesday, fending off a spirited challenge from Republican Herschel Walker while helping Democrats grow their thin Senate majority in the midterm elections after a bruising four-week runoff campaign. Warnock was leading Walker 50.4% to 49.6% when the race was called, earning the senator his first, full six-year term after ousting an appointed Republican incumbent in a special election runoff nearly two years ago. Walker’s defeat was a major blow to the Republicans. They capped a disappointing midterm election season with yet another loss that effectively surrendered a Senate seat to the Democrats, who saw their majority grow from 50 to 51.

Bolton wants to goad other Republicans into fighting Trump now over his remarks about “terminating” the Constitution, while at the same time misrepresenting what’s actually happening among GOP elected officials:
