U.S. Beauty Pageant Has Constitutional

Beauty pageant organization Miss United States of America LLC cannot be forced to allow biological males who identify as transgender women to compete, an federal appeals court ruled Wednesday. The San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that allowing transgender people to compete in the pageant would interfere with its ability to show “the ideal vision of American womanhood,” according to a report from Reuters. The lawsuit was brought forth by Anita Green, a transgender rights activist, who reportedly claimed that the pageant’s policy of only allowing “natural born women” violates an anti-discrimination law based on gender identity in Oregon.

Transgender? No - - mentally sick individuals pretending to be transsexual. They deserve our pity - - except when they demand that we must pretend along with them.

At least once in a while a sensible opinion is handed down from our courts. If these trans people don’t like it let them stage their own pageant.

Several years ago, my evangelical church adjusted its constitution (or bylaws or whatever) to specifically state that marriages performed at the church or by the pastors must be the authentic gender. I can't remember the exact wording. It was designed to prevent possible 'descrimination' lawsuits.

With only a few days left until the 2022 midterms, Newsweek laments a new poll by Redfield and Wilton Strategies showing that 40 percent of Americans still believe that the 2020 presidential election was "rigged or stolen." (snip) Newsweek buries this particular poll's more interesting observations. For example, only 36 percent of respondents disagree that the 2020 election was rigged or stolen. Of that group, more than one in three find it "understandable" that others might believe that the election was rigged or stolen. Another 15 percent of respondents neither agreed nor disagreed, and 8 percent signified that they "didn't know."

Oprah Winfrey said on Thursday that she was endorsing Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman over Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz in the Pennsylvania Senate race. While Winfrey is a Democrat herself, it's notable because Oz first came to prominence as a health expert on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" before he got his own talk show in 2009, which was produced her company Harpo. His show ended in January. "I’ll tell you all this, if I lived in Pennsylvania, I would have already cast my vote for John Fetterman for many reasons," Winfrey said during a virtual conversation with community leaders.
