A Home Depot worker has died from his injuries six weeks after being shoved to the concrete floor by a serial shoplifter he tried to stop stealing three pressure washers worth $800. Gary Rasor, 83, died on December 1 after he confronted the suspect at the store's garden center on October 18.  The grandfather put his arm out to stop the man from rolling away a cartful of shoplifted pressure washers. He was seen on surveillance footage being shoved to the floor by the thief, who was clad in a Calvin Klein hoodie and face mask.   Rasor, who had worked at the Hillsborough, North Carolina, store for nine

Comments:

Another gift to dirtbags from Dr Mengele: masks everywhere. There was a time when you couldn't enter some businesses with a mask. And in California, the murdering shoplifter wouldn't even be arrested as the value of his booty didn't reach the critical $1000. Odds of his being found, much less charged and incarcerated, are ZERO.

It's past time to make it illegal to wear both a hoodie and a face mask. The only reason to wear both is to hide your identity. If I were a store manager I would not allow anyone enter my store with both on.

The victim recognized the “serial shoplifter”, therefore it’s probable that other employees know his ID as well, they know the the vehicle he was driving. Plus there is enough of his face showing to allow anyone who knows him to identify him. He may have fled the area, but somebody - probably multiple somebodies - know where he is. God knows. I pray that this murderer is found and prosecuted before he does the same again. My heart goes out to Mr. Rasor’s family and friends. May God bless, comfort and strengthen them.

Authorities have announced a mandatory curfew in a North Carolina county where around 40,000 customers lost power after two power substations were damaged by gunfire Saturday night. The county will implement a mandatory curfew from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., starting Sunday night, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said at a news conference Sunday. Municipality and county officials “have formed a plan for the night and the next few nights that we may be out of power. It’s a very serious situation,” Fields said. “So we’ve come to an agreement to best protect our citizens and to protect the businesses of our county, we’re going to implement a curfew tonight.”

President Joe Biden pledged to build a high-speed railway between Scranton, Pennsylvania, and New York City on Wednesday. The president made his bold (and likely unrealistic) pronouncement during his post-midterm election press conference on Wednesday when recalling how a congressman in the state of Pennsylvania asked if his infrastructure plan would include a high-speed rail between the two cities. “We can. First of all, it will make it a lot easier to take a lot of vehicles off the road, and we have more money in the pot now already out there that we voted for than the entire money that we spend on Amtrak, to begin with,” he said.

However, the post failed to mention that the COLA adjustment was due to surging, decades-high inflation. COLA adjustments have been automatically done every year for decades due to federal law, and the adjustments are not contingent on any of the Biden administration’s policies. “The point was incomplete,” a White House official told The Epoch Times via email.

Some New York lawmakers are renewing the push for a state law that would lay the groundwork to pay reparations to black residents whose ancestors were enslaved. Proponents gained steam after a task force in California last week recommended that the Golden State shell out $569 billion in reparations to slaves’ descendents there, or $223,200 apiece, because of lingering housing discrimination practices. A previously proposed New York measure called for creating a commission to study the impact of slavery and providing reparations but failed to pass the legislature. It is now being revised, backers said.

Reports surfaced two weeks ago that Florida Republicans are considering changing the state’s “resign-to-run” law so Governor Ron DeSantis could throw his hat in the ring for the 2024 presidential nomination without losing his governorship. It is one sign among many that DeSantis, or those close to him, are thinking about taking on Donald Trump in the primary. A word of warning and wisdom to DeSantis: Don’t do it. DeSantis is a promising politician with a real future on the national scene. He should want to be president. But not yet. DeSantis needs to understand his true self-interest. Running for president in 2024 isn’t it.

Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) won reelection Tuesday, fending off a spirited challenge from Republican Herschel Walker while helping Democrats grow their thin Senate majority in the midterm elections after a bruising four-week runoff campaign. Warnock was leading Walker 50.4% to 49.6% when the race was called, earning the senator his first, full six-year term after ousting an appointed Republican incumbent in a special election runoff nearly two years ago. Walker’s defeat was a major blow to the Republicans. They capped a disappointing midterm election season with yet another loss that effectively surrendered a Senate seat to the Democrats, who saw their majority grow from 50 to 51.

Bolton kinda-sorta threw his hat in the ring yesterday, or more accurately, announced that he would consider tossing his hat in the ring, yada yada yada. Bolton wants to goad other Republicans into fighting Trump now over his remarks about “terminating” the Constitution, while at the same time misrepresenting what’s actually happening among GOP elected officials:
