NYT Repelled by New ‘Deeply Conservative’
Congress ‘Bedevil[ing]’ Poor Biden

Already out of Thanksgiving cheer, The New York Times delivered a cold housewarming greeting to the incoming Republican-controlled House of Representatives in Saturday’s “Meet the House Republicans Who Will Wield Power in the New Congress.” Reporters Catie Edmondson, Luke Broadwater, and Emily Cochrane made it clear what they thought of the incoming GOP, as an unwelcome disruptor of the poor put-upon Democratic President Biden: Republicans may have won control of the House by only the slimmest of margins, but in a chamber that operates purely by majority rule, their razor-thin edge has given them all the tools they need to plunge the Biden administration into a morass

My opinion; Two things that the liberal mind can't do is to even try to reason out their thought process. They come close to not even wanting to REASON. And the second thing would be that they really show NO SIGN of having ANY common sense. Just think about these two things for a while.

Republicans believe in talent first not skin color as a basis for getting a committee appointment. We have had a lousy past president, a current even worse laughing stock vice president, a press secretary that is a beyond being horrible at her job all because they were chosen on the basis of skin color. These are considered role models? People put in place not due to talent? How sad.

NYT is missing some basic information available to anyone born in the south during the 20th century. Number one: you caint haint a haint. (Means you cannot scare a ghost). Bedevil: a scary verb to parse, but this time it is as simple as you can't demonize a devil because said devil is as demonized as it can be.

"Thinnest of margins...razor thin edge"...funny I don't recall such terms being used while Dems took control...even though the exact number of victorious seats is exactly the same. Also never mentioned is that Dems did EVERYTHING by 100% partisan votes, often against bi-partisan opposition. Much of the voting done by "proxy" where the no show dems were not there for the votes, they also were not there for the debates and study groups prior to those votes, likely had not even read the legislation they had someone else cast their districts votes for/against.

Xi Jinping, just starting a third term as head of China’s ruling Communist Party, is having a bad week. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. In his first two terms, Xi cracked down hard on opposition to government policies, cut back on his predecessors’ economic liberalization and purged rivals to consolidate power. But now he faces grassroots protests across China, with large groups of demonstrators even calling for him to step down and Communist Party rule to end. Protesters aren’t just denouncing Xi, the party and the government’s heavy-handed COVID policies — they’re also objecting to rampant censorship by holding up blank sheets of paper. New York - A decade after its last election autopsy, the Republican National Committee is moving forward with a new post-election audit designed to examine the GOP’s underwhelming performance in the recent midterms and the party’s broader struggles in the years since former President Donald Trump took power. The report, which will likely take several months to complete, is expected to explore internal concerns about candidate quality, the lack of a clear governing agenda and the party’s unwillingness to embrace early voting, among other issues. There is some disagreement about the exact focus and scope of the upcoming review, but committee members involved in the planning suggest

Cancel culture, as we know it, was never going to go away on its own. In fact, thanks to assistance from big tech and societal tastemakers, it threatened to become a societal norm. To kill it, it was going to take an army consisting of a populace done with dramatics, thought leaders, and famous people to turn against it as well. Sadly, this was necessary because not every person is an independent thinker. They rely on people they trust to do their thinking for them, and sadly, too many people trust celebrities.
