Patty Murray likely to be first female
Senate president pro tem, 3rd in line

U.S. Sen. Patty Murray will likely be the first woman to serve as Senate president pro tempore, a position that would place her third in line for the presidency. Murray will also likely chair the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, controlling the federal purse strings and directing billions of dollars of spending. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer plans to nominate Murray, who was just elected to a sixth term, to the position, Murray’s office said Wednesday. The Senate president pro tem presides over the Senate in the vice president’s absence. The position is third in line for the presidency, after the vice president and the House speaker.

This is why one win would have made one hell of a difference. I wouldn't put Patty Murray in charge of the local school crosswalk. Yes, term limits. There is a reason these "public servants" end up becoming multi-millionaires. You can't throw billions at covid and Ukraine and think some if it make it's way back to the bank accounts of these "elected" officials. Why else would they scrap and cheat and lie to serve one more time?

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was re-elected to another term as GOP conference chief on Wednesday after an underwhelming midterm performance kept Republicans from taking a majority in the upper chamber. But McConnell’s win as Republicans lose is just going to be more ammo for former President Donald Trump, who announced a third bid for the White House just one night before the Senate leader’s re-election. Neither Trump nor McConnell looks triumphant after last week’s elections. Many of Trump’s top candidates lost key races while McConnell emerges as the culprit for losing the majority. McConnell’s PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund (SLF), re-routed scarce resources from competitive pick-up opportunities

The Republicans are releasing a report Thursday outlining their findings. "This is an investigation of Joe Biden," Comer said.

The 2022 midterms are almost in the books. The large red wave did not materialize, although Republicans did pick up some congressional seats and, apparently, the House. There are significant and important reasons why a large red wave didn’t occur and one large warning for Republicans. First, before anyone says Republicans had bad candidates, keep in mind that the Democrats won the Senate with John Fetterman and Sen. Krysten Sinema, D-AZ, before him. Bad candidates didn’t stop them, and this article addresses why. It is important to remember that in 2010, the first midterm election after President Barack Obama was elected, Democrats lost 63 seats in the House of Representatives

The one promise that President Joe Biden has faithfully kept is his pledge to "close down" fossil fuels. We get two-thirds of our energy in America from fossil fuels, and almost one-third of our power comes from coal. That's quadruple the amount of energy we get from wind and solar, which are niche forms of energy. But Biden doesn't see it that way. He recently reiterated his pledge to end coal production altogether. "No one is building new coal plants because they can't rely on it," Biden said on Nov. 4 while in California. "We're going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar."

The fault lines for the 2024 elections are already taking shape with the two parties in diametrically opposed positions and there is no greater divide than over parental rights. That stark difference was no more evident than in a tweet from Rep. There’s something happening in New York. Tuesday’s mini red wave here only scratches the surface. New Yorkers are getting sick and tired of woke liberalism, and it’s showing in pockets of voters once considered the base of the Democratic Party. In short, there’s a crack in the traditional Democrat coalition, and Republicans have an enormous opportunity to expand that breach with time-tested arguments in the coming months and years. In the Hudson Valley, where I prevailed on Election Night over Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney — the first time in 42 years that a DCCC chairman lost re-election — voters once considered unreachable by Republicans

The outcome of the 2022 election was far different from what I expected – and what most pollsters and analysts expected. I thought Republicans would win dramatically bigger victories. When the exit polls had 75%, three-out-of-four, voters saying America was on the wrong track, I thought for sure there would be a repudiation of Democrats and a Republican tide. With the crisis in the cost of living (gasoline, diesel fuel, heating oil, food, rent, and so on), the rising murder and crime rates in our largest cities, a flood of more than 4 million people illegally crossing our southern border, and the growing anger over schools indoctrinating our children with radical

The election last week defied reality. For example, John Fetterman, the Democrat who won the U.S. Senate race in Pennsylvania, promised more inflationary spending, more lenient treatment of felons amid a violent crime wave and more of the left’s radical, parent-dissing sexual agenda. Yet he won. Do you really believe that a majority of Pennsylvanians voted for a stroke-damaged, hard-core leftist who comes across as a professional wrestling villain? Celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz was not the strongest Republican candidate and was perceived by many as a RINO. But he should have prevailed in an election in which Democrats had to defend the Biden train wreck.

If the Department of Justice can show that these were indeed very sensitive documents, which I think they probably were, and also show that the president consciously was involved in misleading the department, deceiving the government, and playing games after he had received the subpoena for the documents, those are serious charges.
