I dunno, let's check the Hearst Corporation a few hours ago and see how's it going... "What's next for Beto O'Rourke? Despite three defeats, he's likely not done in Texas politics." (That’s a 5XL for the GOP!) Business columnist: "Tomlinson: Texans returned Republicans to power, they must now give us the money they promised us" Letter to the editor: "Thank the GOP Texas Legislature for Harris County election headaches" (Lina's disaster.) Things seem to be OK.

Wisconsin legislature is under the grip of Robin Vos, who dutifully does what Karl Rove advises through the group of state legislators. A Paul Ryan never Trumper. His endorsement turned off voters from Rebecca Kleefisch in the gubanotorial primary. State legislators fear him and he probably won't be challenged in any meaningful way. And because he is a never Trumper, no action will be taken on voter fraud. No reform. Expect more of the same, And he's ok with that.

Here's West Virginia: The Republicans supermajorities in the Legislature have grown. 88-12 in the House of Delegates and 30-4 in the Senate. The problem now is that the leadership of both are a bunch of centrist squishes and nothing of any substance gets done. We have a nominally Republican governor who is a deadbeat hillbilly buffoon. The Rs hold every elected position in the statehouse including the Secretary of State, Attorney General, Treasurer, Auditor, and Agriculture commissioner. They've held power since 2014. It's time to get something done.

I live in Virginia. Well, Gov Youngkin isn't that far away from the country club Republican - red vest or no red vest. He got lucky winning as McAuliffe gave him a great opportunity when he said (and I paraphrase), the kids belong to the state. Yes, he got the voters of many an upset parent but that is not he only issue facing this state. He doesn't control the upper house in the General Assembly, so legislatively, he can't do much. Taxes here are still high and won't be going down anytime soon. No idea his views or policies on illegal migrants being sent to this state. We did have a lot of the Afghans stained on military bases but crickets from Youngkin. We're an all of the above state when it comes to energy so that means the largest off-shore wind turbine farm will be built starting in the next several years - what a shame. But hey, he and his wife are pushing Virginia wines....

And you want to hear a good joke? Our governor and his husband refuse to live in the governor's mansion preferring their prIvacy in Boulder. In Indiana both of the Senators are Republican and my representaitve is Republican. I think the Senators are establishment types and would like to see them primaried. We also have voter ID as the law. We have early voting which I do not like. The Dems really pushed for mail in ballots during the pandemic but our Republican Governor would not allow it. I wish he were more conservative but he usually comes through on the important things having to do with voting.

They chucked the legislation. Gov. axed it. Many more times the pubblies have assumed dem characteristics. Always voting against the "good." And "we" continue to vote for pubbies, never knowing or investigation the voting in our House and Senate. The pubbies schmooze the electorate. Kansas here. Our red state re-elected a poor democrat governor, Laura Kelly. She got millions of campaign dollars from outside the state to beat a milk toast Derrick Schmidt. A independent who was a Republican got more than enough votes to get Schmidt elected. Kelly shut down the state almost entirely during the covid scam. Not one word of that during the political ads. On the bright side, the Kansas Legislature still has a super R majority in the house and senate. Kris Kibach was elected to be the AG and a Democrat was replaced at state treasurer. Gov. Kelly is pretty much neutered from now on. The mediots howled when Kobach was elected, I would rather have him as AG and Kelly ad governor then have him lose and Schmidt as Governor. In Wichita the voters un-elected Lacey Cruse, a one term left wing county commissioner. The sedwick county commission is now firmly Republican. Wichita has a left wing mayor in Brandon Whipple, but his act has grown thin, I think he will be put out next year. The state board of education is now 7-2 republican. The voters have had it with some of their woke decisions. On the other hand, the KSHSAA is now recommending that all schools git rid of their Indian mascots. AG Kobach will probably say they they have no authority to force that issue. Kansas still has one left wing Democrat representative from the KC area. She is a homosexual and an Indian. Johnson (KC area) county used to be reliably Red, now it's gone to the dark side.

Federal judge blocks Title 42 rule that

A federal judge on Tuesday blocked Title 42 -- a controversial rule that's allowed US authorities to expel more than 1 million migrants who crossed the US-Mexico border. Tuesday's court order leaves the Biden administration without one of the key tools it had deployed to address the thousands of migrants arriving at the border on a daily basis and could restore access to asylum for arriving migrants. While the rule was drafted by the Trump administration during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Biden administration has relied heavily on it to manage the increase of migrants at the border.

Scott, R-Fla., the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has been at odds with McConnell. R-Ky., for most of this year over political strategy. Scott is also more closely aligned with former President Donald Trump, who has called for McConnell to be removed as Senate Republican leader. Scott repeatedly declined to rule out challenging McConnell in recent months, but didn't confirm his intentions until Tuesday during a closed door Senate GOP lunch.

House Republicans nominated Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) to be Speaker in a closed-door conference meeting on Tuesday after he faced a last-minute protest challenge from Rep. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), a former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. McCarthy won easily, 188 to 31, in the internal conference meeting. But in the eyes of Biggs and his supporters, the goal was merely to demonstrate that McCarthy lacks the support to seize the gavel when the full House meets to choose the Speaker early next year. The 31 votes opposing McCarthy easily met that threshold, raising immediate questions

Kyiv, Ukraine — A Russian missile barrage on the Ukrainian power grid sent the war spilling over into neighboring countries Tuesday, hitting NATO member Poland and cutting electricity to much of Moldova. The strikes plunged much of Ukraine into darkness and drew defiance from President Volodymr Zelenskyy, who shook his fist and declared: “We will survive everything.” It was Russia’s biggest barrage yet, and some of the missiles crossed into Poland, where two people were killed, according to a U.S. official. It marked the first time in the war that Russian weapons have come down on a NATO country.

No Republican appears to be challenging McConnell. If McConnell receives enough votes, he will be the longest serving party Senate leader in history, surpassing Mike Mansfield.
