Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Monday said he is confident Republican senators will reelect him as GOP Senate leader on Wednesday after failing to reclaim the Senate from Democrats.
“Of course,” McConnell responded to Capitol Hill reporters. McConnell only needs a simple majority of the Republican conference votes to remain the GOP leader. The vote will take place by secret ballot and behind closed doors. No Republican appears to be challenging McConnell. If McConnell receives enough votes, he will be the longest serving party Senate leader in history, surpassing Mike Mansfield.

For somebody who was all too happy to pull PAC funding away from pubbie colleagues trying to get elected/re-elected, don't be so sure, Turtle.

Anyone who votes for him will be putting a big sign on themselves that says Uniparty. Their name will be forever tarnished. They will have a hard time being elected again.

And I'm confident that I won't be voting for any Republicans in 2024 with McConnell and McCarthy as the leaders.

We've seen that Mitch would rather lose than win with Senators who will not be in his control. The problem with Mitch is he is not a team player unless he is the team. The democrats play chess, the Republican elites are playing checkers and willing to continue. We out here in flyover country recognize we're in a war for the soul of the Republic. Apparently the older establishment Republicans don't see that. Or they have been corrupted by the power and will chose that over conflict with the true enemies of our nation.

Proof that Parties are not interested in American Citizens for anything other than their vote. The GOP has been dead for years and is why Trump was able to bring such energy. They blocked and undermined him every chance they could. McCarthy and McConnell represent their true colors. The sad thing is people will still support this party expecting that only if x runs then everything will turn around, and they will continue to be disappointed while these leeches prosper. Is this Government truly the best we can do and is it really who we want to entrust our Declaration, Constitution and Protection of Rights to?

Of course he is, that's why they are knows as the stupid party. They all probably expect different results even though they do the same thing over and over. The fact that they would reelect this traitor with the stunts he pulled in Alaska and other races says so much about the lack of integrity and character of Senate Republicans.

I'd tie his ass to a Wile E Coyote Acme rocket and send his ass to wherever it ends up. McConnell is a worthless bag of trash who tows the CCP line in order to line his pockets.

It is too bad that the Republican voters have no say in selecting the leaders of our party. Things would be alot different.

The next time I hear Addison McConnell barf up his comment about "the quality of the candidates running." I want him to remember five words, senator-elect John Fetterman.
