Vermont Votes to Enshrine Constitutional
Right to Abortion

After voters overwhelmingly voted in favor of a ballot measure, the constitution of Vermont now enshrines the right to kill unborn babies. “An individual’s right to personal reproductive autonomy is central to the liberty and dignity to determine one’s own life course and shall not be denied or infringed unless justified by a compelling State interest achieved by the least restrictive means,” the amendment reads. About seventy-two percent, or 133,000 Vermonters, decided to vote in favor of the measure according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s office, while 42,000 voted against it. While abortion is already legal in the state, such a change to the constitution would mean

Constitution or no Constitution. They cannot deny equal rights under the law to the unborn. This violates at least the 14th.. Don’t know what else.

This is, after all, a State's right to make that determination. As #2 mentions, it was also enshrined into the California constitution, which enable abortion with no restrictions like viability, as was part of Roe and the previous laws in CA. Again, the Right of the citizens of CA to make that determination. What I do see, since Democrats always used the issue as a wedge, it removes that going forward for many candidates. The GOP can nominate people who may actually win since they won't be bludgeoned with that issue any longer.

Why not call it by its real name? Infanticide. Murdering human babies seems to give the democrats a real thrill and yet I bet these dyed in the wool liberals would see you hanged for breaking an eagles egg. I am old enough to remember when abortion was illegal and I like a lot of others thought legalizing would make women safer but somehow it only made them more vulnerable to men who refused to accept responsibility and left so many with guilt feelings that they would never get over, But I have to say I never thought I would see the day when killing tiny humans would be celebrated by women. Somehow they are just a little less than human in my eyes.

Former President Donald Trump expressed his fury at Fox News and owner Rupert Murdoch for promoting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis after the midterm elections in an intentional effort to promote himself as the future of the Republican Party. “NewsCorp, which is Fox, the Wall Street Journal, and the no longer great New York Post (bring back Col!), is all in for Governor Ron DeSanctimonious,” the president said on social media. Since the midterm elections, Murdoch’s media empire began unloading on Trump. The Wall Street Journal published six anti-Trump op-eds, including one calling him “the Republican Party’s biggest loser.”
Three Primary Factors Stopped That Red Wave 0 replies

After watching the debacle on Tuesday night, I did my own post-mortem of what happened. I lay the blame on three major factors: The Republican elites, the American public, and early voting. The Republican Elites By far the most important factor is the Republican elites. In 2020, the GOPe was almost as glad as the Dems to be rid of Donald Trump, so they ignored and denied the massive vote fraud that swept Joe Biden into office. After Biden’s many undistinguished years in the Senate, they convinced themselves that he was their friend and would work with them, in other words, “he’s one of us….” With a few notable exceptions, they

A piece of NASA's fallen Challenger has been discovered in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Florida nearly 37 years after the craft exploded 73 seconds into flight and killing all seven astronauts aboard. It was found by a History Channel documentary diving crew who shared footage of the find with the American space agency because the 'large humanmade object' was in 'proximity to the Florida Space Coast.' NASA confirmed it is a segment of the heat shield that was in the nose cone of the Challenger, marking 'the first discovery of wreckage' from 1986 craft in more than 25 years,' History Channel proudly announced on Twitter Thursday.

That means we can all look forward to high-pressure, coercive government tactics, and not only from the government but from corporate elites. Appearing alongside WEF President Børge Brende and various corporate executives, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry said that it is urgent for the private sector to pair with governments

During Donald Trump’s presidency, The Washington Post kept a running tally of his alleged lies and/or misleading statements. But, when Joe Biden became president, the Post fact-checker, Glenn Kessler, announced an end to the database operation, saying: “Maintaining the Trump database over four years required about 400 additional 8-hour days over four years beyond our regular jobs for three people.” Looks like supply-chain issues at the Post. So, while the Post continues to fact-check Biden, it discontinued the Trump-era practice of running the tote board because, after all, Biden is not Trump, and the Post undoubtedly expects Biden to be more truthful. How’s that working out?

Legal scholar and Fox News contributor Jonathan Turley is on that list. We’ll get to Professor Turley in a minute but first, Joe Biden. During Biden’s midterm elections post-mortem on Wednesday, he was asked about the possibility of Republicans conducting congressional investigations — if the GOP wins the majority in either chamber or both, that is — into the Biden Family Business, notably Hunter Biden‘s shady business dealings. Biden smugly shot back: “Good luck with that,”

Way back in March of 2019, I proposed the idea that, similar to the BLAXIT movement, American Jews needed to remove themselves from the Democratic Party, which no longer exemplifies Jewish values, no longer supports Israel, and is controlled by leftist extremists who are anti-Semitic. Although slower than hoped for, it looks like this might finally be happening. A recent poll after the midterms demonstrates this optimistic change. Thirty-three percent of Jews voted Republican in the primaries, up from 30% in 2020 and 24% in 2016. This new voting bloc proves two things: Jews are starting to wake up to political realities and letting go

Donald Trump is continuing to treat Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis like a political enemy. On Wednesday, Trump pooh-poohed DeSantis’s huge and historic victory by insisting that his 2020 win in Florida was bigger. “Now that the Election in Florida is over, and everything went quite well, shouldn’t it be said that in 2020, I got 1.1 Million more votes in Florida than Ron D got this year, 5.7 Million to 4.6 Million? Just asking?” Trump won Florida in 2020 by 3.4-point margin, while DeSantis won reelection by a 19.45-point margin. Sorry, Trump, I think DeSantis’s victory is far more impressive. This ridiculous, ego-driven pettiness from Trump has got to stop.

First of all, it will make it a lot easier to take a lot of vehicles off the road, and we have more money in the pot now already out there that we voted for than the entire money that we spend on Amtrak, to begin with,” he said.

All six of the Republican candidates who seemingly benefited from the meddling in their primary victories fell to their Democratic opponents. Those races include a number of key House and gubernatorial races, as well as the New Hampshire Senate race. Democrats spent more than $40 million boosting those six GOP candidates, all of whom expressed support for former President Donald Trump as a leader of the Republican Party or were backed by him.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is making a play for another term in leadership next week while control of the upper chamber remains in the balance after the Kentucky lawmaker’s chess game sabotaged chances for a GOP majority. In September, McConnell inaugurated the fall midterms by undermining Republicans in key races when the GOP Senate chief complained of “candidate quality.” “I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate,” McConnell said on Fox News just before Labor Day, the unofficial start of the fall campaign season. “Senate races are just different, they’re statewide, candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.”
