Trump Mocks DeSantis Again, and I'm Already
Sick of It

Donald Trump is continuing to treat Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis like a political enemy. On Wednesday, Trump pooh-poohed DeSantis’s huge and historic victory by insisting that his 2020 win in Florida was bigger. “Now that the Election in Florida is over, and everything went quite well, shouldn’t it be said that in 2020, I got 1.1 Million more votes in Florida than Ron D got this year, 5.7 Million to 4.6 Million? Just asking?” Trump won Florida in 2020 by 3.4-point margin, while DeSantis won reelection by a 19.45-point margin. Sorry, Trump, I think DeSantis’s victory is far more impressive. This ridiculous, ego-driven pettiness from Trump has got to stop.

Hubby and I were talking last night and as much as I like Trump, I think he needs to bow out and support DeSantis. We were watching Ted Cruz on Fox and he has definitely grown and matured in the last few years. He would make a good VP. Given DeSantis and Cruz's ages, they could run this country for 16 years.

Is it TRUE or isn't it? DeSantis rode that wave...as did many of the Repubs now in offices. A simple truth is not an attack. A million more votes is a substantial number in ANY state. Crist is now the 1st in history to lose as a Repub, and independent, and as a Dem. He joins Beto, and Abrams in the three strikes...yer out club.(Where Biden belonged in a rational world)

This just highlights Trump's pathetic need to be the center of attention. I am now officially sick of him. Voted for him twice... lost friends over it. Now I want to never see his face again. Conservatives need a MATURE face for the movement. One that has the attitude and demeanor of a servant and not that of a man who feasts upon how good he is and how much has had done... or not done. I think DeSantis may be that man. Here's to a speedy rejection of DJT moving forward...

I would not react to mere political jostling. It seems unnecessary. Of course it’s the goal of the enemedia to foment these divisions. Knowing that, does Trump see it as a publicity stunt to get outsized publicity because of the predilections of the left? Or is Trump really petty? Is politics - even intraparty politics - petty? One of the complaints about Trump is his “mean tweets.” I’ve found them no meaner than others’ tweets. Trump just publishes under his own name. Traditional politicians publish under others’ names. I prefer the honesty, but maybe it adds a patina of pettiness.

I get it, he's trying to make a point, but he comes across as petty and as not maturing as a candidate. He can no longer think of himself as an outsider, he's a politician now, and needs to act like it more. This type of comment was more acceptable back in 2015 and 2016, but not any longer. Hope Don Jr. helps explain to his father. And, if he can't contain himself or manage to control his comments, then he really needs to step back and work from the sidelines. He'll get more out of it.

They better get used to it. Being considered "the leader" puts a target on you from every direction. Ask Trump, he knows all about it and has been through it. One thing that will turn me off from someone running is "thin skin". Running for office is not for snowflakes. The Democrats and MSM have done a terrific job of painting President Trump as “Orange Man Bad.” Sadly, he has done a fair job of affirming this image by attacking anyone who might get in his way. Also, his interference in the 2019 runoff for Georgia Senators is credited for losing the Republican majority in the Senate. He has made himself toxic. Attacking DeSantis only makes him look mean and nasty. He would be better thought of taking the role of elder statesman than that of a bull in a china shop.

The quote from Trump about getting more votes in 2020 than DeSantis in 2022 doesn't bother me since Trump is well known for patting himself on the back. Doesn't bother me. What does bother me is Trump's threat that we has dirt on DeSantis. That doesn't play well especially since DeSantis has not uttered one negative word about Trump. Until now Trump didn't attack politicians or others until they had first attacked him. That bothers me a lot and reflects very poorly on Trump.

Control of the Senate still hung in the balance on Friday, forcing Senate Republicans to briefly put aside their intraparty blame game as they go all-in on winning Georgia’s Senate runoff. The Senate majority could be decided in the coming days if Democrats defend the seats they hold in both Arizona and Nevada, where votes continue to be counted. But if the GOP picks up just one of those seats, Senate control will be determined by a Dec. 6 runoff election in the Peach State. GOP operatives continued to express optimism about the party’s chances of picking up a seat in Nevada

It should be clear by this time that popularity has nothing to do with electability. Trump filled rally after rally in state after state with countless, full-house, full-stadium crowds, and such numbers do not lie. There really was a red wave in the midterms, but it was macro-engineered to a trickle, as should have been expected. The scam of “malfunctioning” voting machines, the shortage of paper ballots, the tsunami of mail-in and late ballots, the temporary closing and slow-downs of polling stations, and so on would have been sufficient to determine an electoral result. 2020 was an early run for 2022,
