Analysts at the non-partisan Cook Political Report moved the rating for ten congressional districts in favor of the Republican candidates with only a week left before the midterm race. Cook Political explained that many of the congressional districts President Joe Biden won comfortably during the last presidential election are at risk of being lost because Democrat governors are underperforming. In comparison, Republicans are surging as they focus on high crime and skyrocketing inflation. The report explained that the safest Democrats are in states that do not have competitive statewide races. The 12 districts that Cook changed were:

A typical off year election has about 15-20 House seats going to the out of power party. Looking more like 40 seats going to change sides this time.

Matt Jacobs is the Republican fighting to unseat the Dem Rep Julia Brownley in Cal 26th (moved to "lean Dem"). He is my big sister's next-door neighbor! He's a veteran, super smart, and a handsome family man with a beautiful wife and two cute kids. He's been working to unseat Brownley for the last two years building coalitions within the district. Its one of those gerrymandered meandering things that also includes my lifelong best friend 15 miles away. Of course, they are both voting for Matt. My friend says there are Jacobs' signs all over her neighborhood. My sister told me a few days ago that McCarthy gave Jacobs "a lot of cash" for his campaign when it was moved to "lean Dem". Praying for a victory in Cal 26th!

Former President Barack Obama wants to save Democrats from a crushing midterm defeat by appearing on TikTok with some “painfully” nerdy dad jokes, critics said Wednesday. Obama took to the normally young-and-hip social media platform to urge viewers to vote on “Under The Desk News,” which offers Gen Z-ers quick takes on current events. In the sketch, the former leader of the free world sits under a desk with the host, Vitus Spehar, and urges the TikTok star to come out and cast a ballot. “Here’s the thing: you can stay [under the desk] for now, but when it comes time for voting you’re going to have to get up,”

PHILADELPHIA—Right-hander Cristian Javier and three Houston Astros relievers on Wednesday night combined to throw the second no-hitter in World Series history, 66 years after Don Larsen’s perfect game for the New York Yankees. In Game 4 against the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park, Javier, a 25-year-old native of the Dominican Republic making his first World Series start, allowed two baserunners across six innings, both on walks. At 97 pitches and with still three innings to navigate, Javier gave way to the Astros’ bullpen, a decision made by Astros manager Dusty Baker. In his perfect game against the Brooklyn Dodgers, Larsen also threw 97 pitches—in nine innings.

It is not known if the individual is a Hassan supporter. President Joe Biden uttered the word “democracy” 37 times in a 20-minute speech on Wednesday that seemed to be his final pitch to American voters to vote for Democrats in next week’s midterm elections. Biden’s speech cautioned against letting Republicans take power after the midterm election, arguing that the “very soul of America itself” is on the line. Biden’s speech came amid projections from analysts who expect Republicans to regain the majority in the House and U.S. Senate. Additionally, Democrats are playing defense in several districts Biden carried by significant margins in 2020. As Breitbart News detailed: Biden’s speech was sharply partisan, ignoring Democrats who protested the results

The media appears to have rediscovered political violence the morning of October 28 when news broke that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul was attacked by a hammer-wielding mad man in their California home. The days of hysterical coverage that have since followed — certainly warranted to some degree for an alleged attempt on the life of a woman third in line for presidency — nonetheless represent a pattern of disproportionate opportunism that seems to strike whenever the corporate media and Democrats decide certain violence could serve a politically expedient end.

But I think that she is a tremendous leader," Cheney said at the City Club in Cleveland with PBS’s Judy Woodruff. "I’ve watched her up close. When your whole city’s a toilet, why not embrace it? The D.C. Council is expected to take the first of two votes Tuesday on a massive rewrite of its criminal code. If passed, the bill would eliminate most mandatory minimum sentences, allow for jury trials in almost all misdemeanor cases and reduce the maximum penalties for offenses such as burglaries, carjackings and robberies. Assume that there’ll be a lot more burglaries, carjackings and robberies. Not to mention public urination. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Robert Contee III are pushing back hard on parts of the plan they don’t agree with, and say the council is rushing to beat an arbitrary deadline.

President Unity is raising money for Democrats by trying to claim that Republican Governor Ron DeSantis is “Trump incarnate” and scaring senior citizens that Republicans will take away Social Security and Medicare benefits. His riffs on the campaign trail would be amusing if they weren’t so predictable and stale. Democrats are facing a big ole red wave next week and they are running scared. That includes the head of the party, Joe Biden, who is claiming that the midterm elections aren’t a referendum, they are a choice. Unfortunately for Biden, that’s not the truth. Midterm elections are always a referendum on the party in control and this one is no different.
