As I predicted a year ago, the GOP will

Extrapolating from Glenn Youngkin’s win in the Virginia governor’s race, I predicted a year ago that the GOP would flip about 46 seats in the House in the midterm elections, and two or three in the Senate. So here we are a year later, on the verge of those midterms. How’s my prediction holding up? Quite well, thank you. The Real Clear Politics aggregation of pundit predictions says the GOP will pick up between 12 and 47 seats. The first – the 12 seat prediction – is clearly from a transexual-grooming Democrat pot legalization pundit with purple hair

It sounds good but the Republicans have the RINO Hall of Fame members in the Senate - Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski and Mitt "Pierre Delecto" Romney.

"Kansans and most other Americans love their country and are willing to subordinate their personal desires to the good of that country." While this might be true, I believe there is a reality and a selfish reason that many Americans don't vote for "free" goodies for themselves. The reality is, the government can NEVER give EVERYONE very much. There just isn't that much available money to go around. Even now, what the dems have been giving away is not money that the government has. They are creating a huge deficit, thus the horrible inflation. What the government can give you is table scraps, something that most people would not be happy with. The selfish reason to vote for Republicans, who do NOT pass out goodies, is that Republicans, at least the best ones, remove the CHAINS of government and let individuals seek rewards through their own efforts. These rewards are FAR more than any government scraps AND you are not beholden to the government. Plus, people who work to their own benefit are highly motivated to achieve vs. people who are supported by government who are not motivated at all. I vote for Republicans to LEAVE ME ALONE and seek out my own best interests. Along the way, more money is made and more taxes in total are paid, even if the overall tax rate is lower. This has been proven over and over. People so self rewarded also tend to make more charitable donations. THIS is the magic of Capitalism. Self interested earnings yield a better overall society. As a corollary, this is why Socialism ALWAYS fails. Individuals under Socialism have NO interest in supporting society. They get their pittance from the government and it has nothing to do with anything they do or do not do. Any extra effort they might make is pointless since it yields NO benefit to them. Everyone sinks to the lowest level they can get away with. Government money dries up. Society becomes stagnant and collapses.

Great. But, hold everything, folks. Our girl in western Colorado, Laruen Boerbert, is up against an uber lefty rich guy from dimsville known as Asspen. Lauren Boebert needs our voice and financial support...now. Her millionaire opponent, Adam Frisch, is raking in mega dark outside money and our radio and tv airwaves are being saturated with his attack ads. Unfortunately, there are enough sheelpe out her who listen to these ads. This jerk must be beaten soundly. This is oil and gas country and Frisch already told the O&G people to learn how to make solar panels. Everyone - all hands on deck to defeat Mr. My Nose is Up in the Air Frisch who hasn't done squat to benefit anyone out here except his ritzy Asspen clowns. It would come in quite handy for Trump and/or DeSantis to pay western Colorado a visit now to put down this arrogant dim Frisch and send him back to his palace in Asspen.

Aspen newspapers are finally covering
blackmail story — with a pillow

As reported in numerous outlets including this site, a man came forward last week alleging that he blackmailed the Democrat candidate challenging conservative firebrand Lauren Boebert for Colorado’s Third Congressional District, while the candidate was a city councilman in Aspen. The two daily newspapers – both overtly liberal – refused to run the story even while numerous citizens brought it to their attention. The Dem candidate is Adam Frisch, and the Congresswoman he is campaigning to unseat is Lauren Boebert. Frisch presents himself as a high-minded moderate intellectual, but his initial broadcast email drumming up support name-called Boebert, in junior high fashion, “Boebert the Betrayer.”

The story in Glitter Gulch this week is one of blackmail, video cameras, small-time and big-time politics, sex, corruption and, of course, money. But the local newspapers refuse to report the story, apparently because they want a bad guy to win. Here’s the story, as reported initially in Breitbart and now picked up by half a dozen outlets. Democrat Adam Frisch is running to unseat conservative firebrand Lauren Boebert in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. Frisch was an Aspen city councilman for eight years, stepping down in 2019.

Denver has its share of vagrants. The rule is evidently that you can illegally camp on the sidewalk and poop in the gutter until a lot of people complain. Once dozens or hundreds of people complain – they don’t publish what the requisite number is – the city will tell the vagrants they have two weeks to shuffle down the road to trash some other site. What the vagrants then do, naturally, is leave for a few days and then come back to the same place again,

I’m not convinced that wealth disparity is a problem. I do firmly believe, mind you, that the world is rich enough now that no one should starve or freeze to death, at least not involuntarily, and that the injured or diseased should be given medical treatment. In America, we’ve achieved that, and more. Poor people in America not only have plenty to eat (as is evident from their physiques) but also have automobiles, air conditioning, color cable television, smart phones, and free tuition. The wealth disparity complaint is not about starvation or freezing. It’s the complaint that some people have far more luxuries than others.

First Lady Jill Biden asked to be called “Doctor” after her husband was elected president. She’s not actually a doctor. She’s also not nearly as smart as one and so she thought the title made her look like she was, at least to stupid people who don’t know better. The justification for “Doctor” Jill’s request to be called a doctor was she has an EdD. That’s a doctoral degree in education. It’s a little like a PhD but much easier to obtain. No EdD in the entire universe could pass an introductory college chemistry or physics course.

“My body, my choice” is a favorite slogan of abortion advocates. It’s thin gruel. To the extent this slogan is an analysis and not just a chant, it assumes the conclusion. It assumes that a fetus anywhere from hours old to nearly born is simply owned in a legal property sense by the mother in whom it resides. But that’s the whole question, right? That question is not answered by just determining the location of the fetus. If it were, then a mother wrapping her arms around her baby or toddler or husband could make the same argument; “My body, my choice.”

The old news of the leak of Justice Alito’s draft opinion last May overruling Roe v. Wade has now been swamped by the new news of the Supreme Court’s final opinion a month later. That final opinion, almost identical to Alito’s draft and joined by five of the nine Justices, held that Roe was wrong. As a matter of fact and law, the Constitution never mentions, alludes to, or implies a Constitutional right to abortion. (Notice my use of the word “abortion” to identify abortion. After the Supreme Court’s decision saying that abortion is a matter for state legislatures to sort out, and not something addressed by the Constitution, the hard-left mayor of Chicago in a public speech spat “f*** Clarence Thomas!” (Days later, this same Democrat mayor bemoaned the toxicity of current political discussions.) Note that this is not some bomb-throwing, Antifa/Democrat hoodlum, but is the mayor of one of the biggest cities in America. (OK, I’ll admit that she could be both.) The mayor didn’t bother to tell us what part of the Constitution guarantees abortion on demand. But, no matter.

The Aspen Times months ago published a thinly supported story suggesting that one of the local billionaires was in league with Vladimir Putin. The billionaire filed suit against the newspaper for defamation. The newspaper wanted to settle the case. Meanwhile, the newspaper was recently bought by a family-owned group of several dozen small newspapers. Much of the family are Republicans, which may be the determinative fact in this story. The new owners asked that the newspaper staff refrain from commenting on the pending litigation while settlement talks were ongoing. That’s standard and prudent in legal proceedings.

Washington — Plastic recycling rates are declining even as production shoots up, according to a Greenpeace USA report out Monday that blasted industry claims of creating an efficient, circular economy as "fiction." Titled "Circular Claims Fall Flat Again," the study found that of 51 million tons of plastic waste generated by U.S. households in 2021, only 2.4 million tons were recycled, or around five percent. After peaking in 2014 at 10 percent, the trend has been decreasing, especially since China stopped accepting the West's plastic waste in 2018. Virgin production — of non-recycled plastic, that is — meanwhile is rapidly rising as the

The president went on to name House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, arguing that he and his fellow Republicans would grow the deficit by $3 trillion if their priorities were to pass. He also argued the party plans to use the deficit as a bludgeon against him.
