More millennials are attending church now than before the Chinese coronavirus pandemic struck, a report from Christianity Today’s October issue found.
Churches all across the country famously closed down during much of the pandemic, creating tension in some communities that wanted to continue to meet regardless of local or state rules. But by now most Americans recognize that the pandemic is over. Even President Joe Biden made that admission last month.
There has been an uptick of Americans returning to normal activities, showing the fundamental desire of Americans to return to a state of pre-pandemic normalcy.

It does depend on which church. The end of the article does cite a "Lutheran church" that invited a drag queen to preach.
However, difficult times do tend to focus people's attention to seek a higher understanding of life's meaning. I pray the Holy Spirit leads them Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Masses where I go to church have been packed. And I've noticed a lot of young people there too.

We finally found a church a couple months ago. Straight-on Bible preaching, small Baptist church, pastor has a tree service company as his "real" job. Could not go back to our pre-COVID PCA where we had gone for about 15 years. Former church had issues, every church does in some way. But so far we are pleased.

teachingfaith.com go read the Change of Mind series for teaching the real gospel message that Jesus Saves with no "do-do and dont-do" modern Christian false gospel teaching. You cant do anything on your own to deserve grace.

Maybe they are fretting over what they chose to put in their blood stream, and watching people their age die unexpectedly.

Millenials are going to church because many churches now pander to their gay, transgender and pedophile tendencies. The Methodist church is now in the process of splitting in half over that.

We can only pray that huge numbers of younger people are finally beginning to see the vacuity of their meaningless lives and are turning toward something that actually matters.

My millennial daughter goes to church now but I think it has more to do with being married with two small children than it does with the pandemic. They attend as a family.

I believe the article as I experienced it first hand when I visited my daughter last weekend at her college. She asked us to go to church with her at her non-denominational church who meets in leased space on campus. It was huge with several hundred mostly students in attendance. The pastor was great and gave a sermon in a very difficult subject that my Lutheran church wouldn't touch. Our current Lutheran church is dieing and we are looking for a new church home. I can't support what my current church supports.

People have FINALLY realized that Covid was much to do about nothing for the vast majority of people, and are done with lockdowns, masks, six-foot distance circles on the floor and the idea that the Covid vaccine is actually a vaccine. Those in charge made their money from Moderna, and Pfizer and are set for life. The left will continue to try and rein in freedom blaming the virus or something else. By doing so, their constant harping will only reinforce the fact that it's all about controlling freedom not health outcomes.

My church has seen an increase of many numbers at Sunday's service...and they are young families...not just WE older folks...it's very encouraging to fill the pews and increase our membership....babies crying during the homily and prayers...makes me smile remembering how my children acted in church so many years ago...Peace Be With You All....

My little denomination is so far to the right that even Holy Rollers think we're weird. Hallelujah. Anybody else here have that sort of ''drug problem'' my brother talked about? We were drug to church Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night, and entire week in June for VBS, and any other time Mama thought the church might be unlocked. He said ''Mama wore out his church-going glands.''

Maybe our youth 18-45 are figuring out that life is fragile and can end at any time. (Covid vaccines killing men in that group at an alarming rate.) They hear Biden talking about Armageddon, radiation poisonings from nuclear bombs going off, inflation causing major financial problems, 5 million illegal aliens pouring over our open border, people being murder on our streets with no police there to protect them. Their only answer: God. This adm. isn't helping. Many politicians are greedy and in it for themselves. Who is out there to protect them? God.
My only problem with the American churches right now is that many have their heads in the sand and are saying,
I'm o.k., you're o,k. These churches say, "We'll keep out of politics" so therefore they won't tell you that this adm. is evil and corrupt and doing immoral acts.
These churches/pulpits won't stand or speak out against the FBI who are breaking and entering into innocent, God-fearing Christian homes and arresting Christians and handcuffing them with firearms before their screaming children all because their stand for the life of an unborn baby.
Why won't these Churches speak out about the immorality that's taking place in our Country today? My answer. They are cowards!!! They want their tithes, monies, people in the pews, their prestige, and don't want any trouble if they stand up for a cause.
These pastors are godless wonders. Jesus called them, HIRELINGS! There are a few good ones out there that are speaking truth to power. John MacArthur in Southern CA, Pastor J. Hibbs of Calvary Chapel of CA and many others. It's actions, not words if you want to know if you have a good church. Do not be fooled. There are wolves out there in Christian Church pulpits. We know. We've experienced them.

The Lutheran church has 2 holy scripture denominations "Sola Scriptura" -- the LCMS (Lutheran Church Missouri Synod) which I belong to. Also, the Wisconsin Synod is "Sola Scriptura". Stay away from the ECLA -- it no longer follows the Holy Scripture.

#11, bingo. People often return to church, or find a church, after they have children. Millenials are having children now, so they are returning to church.

Their parents bought into the whole "don't force them, they will go". And they didn't. So they are thirty wondering how this happened, and what the meaning of life is, knowing it doesn't come from big brother.
GRandparents, it is now acceptable to give your grandkids Baltimore Catechism, CS Lewis, anything religious. Get em know.

About 2 weeks ago the priest at my Catholic Church happened to mention, during his homily, that about 30% of Catholics have not returned to Mass on Sunday.

#3~ With all due respect, the last paragraph does not mention a “Lutheran church” as having invited a drag queen to preach. The article’s embedded link indicates the church was The Allendale United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida.
#12~ Worshipping at a LCMS church for several weeks is a heartfelt suggestion. Having been baptized in what became part of the ELCA and seeing its descent into liberal progressive, political correctness about 25 years ago, began visiting LCMS churches in the area and became a member of the LCMS, a theologically conservative church—theology of the historic Christian tradition and the Lutheran Confessions.
#13~ Please see response to #3. The church was not Lutheran, it was Methodist.
#18~ As a grateful member of the LCMS, appreciate the very well-stated post.
