Seattle—Nearly $900,000 in grants has been awarded by the city of Seattle's Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL) to six Seattle organizations that support Black educators in their careers. DEEL's goal for the funding is to increase educator diversity in K-12 schools in the city. According to the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, about 790 (21%) Seattle Public Schools classroom teachers and 29,000 (54%) students identified as people of color in the 2020-21 school year. I want to elaborate on the most significant point that emerged from the testimony of FBI supervisory intelligence analyst Brian Auten: the FBI offered Christopher Steele $1 million if he could come up with evidence to support the wild allegations in his “dossier” on Donald Trump. This at a time when the FBI knew that, to date, Steele had nothing.
