Mark Pocan, Democratic lawmaker, seeks
to build an LGBT museum in Washington

Rep. Mark Pocan, a Wisconsin Democrat, is pushing legislation that would establish a national museum of American LGBTQ+ History and Culture in the nation’s capital. The lawmaker has filed bills that would establish a commission to study the potential creation of the museum and house it within the Smithsonian Institution. The eight-member commission would have 18 months to study the viability of creating and constructing the museum in Washington. Mr. Pocan, who is gay, said the LGBT community must be able to tell its stories. “As our community faces unprecedented attacks and attempts to erase our history, we must preserve and protect our stories for future generations,”

Comments:

People who say they're silenced despite Gay Pride being at least equal to BLM and far above the Founding Fathers in our communist national adulation, and who cannot reproduce except through molesting children, say their story must be preserved for future generations.

Also, Gay Barry proudly granted national monument status to the Rotten Apple's Stonewall Inn, but didn't do the same for the Man's Country bathhouse in Chicago. Why the sleight?

Times reporter John Branch, who is based in California, used mostly anonymous sources and anecdotes from visiting Walker’s hometown of Wrightsville to generalize that feelings that Walker, a Georgia football legend, is not in touch with the black community are “flowering ahead of November’s election.” “Herschel’s not getting the Black vote because Herschel forgot where he came from. … He’s not part of the Black community,” Branch quotes

The flag-raising took place during a ceremony on Friday with city and Chinese officials and local business representatives, according to Chinese state media. Oct. 1 was the anniversary of the founding of the communist state that critics say has been responsible for the deaths of millions of people since the Chinese Communist Party seized power in 1949.

President Biden traveled Monday to Puerto Rico to survey hurricane damage, meet with families and announce $60 million in emergency aid to prepare the island for future storms. Mr. Biden’s trip comes two weeks after Hurricane Fiona ravaged the island. As of Monday, 100,000 people are still without power because of storm damage. After receiving a briefing from civil leaders about Fiona’s aftermath, Mr. Biden announced a new round of funding for the island. The aid will be used to shore up levees, strengthen flood walls and create new flood warning systems to prepare Puerto Ricans for future threats.
