Weddings booked by Britons at a stunning Victorian country mansion have been cancelled after the Home Office announced it needed the hotel for migrants. At least three weddings have reportedly been cancelled at the Grade II-listed Stoke Rochford Hall in Lincolnshire:(Snip)The historic mansion, run by Countrywide Hotels, was already hosting migrants under what local media describes a “compulsory contract” with the government, and was forced to cancel the planned weddings after being told it was required to take on even more. “The hotel has received notification from the Home Office that the current government contract is to be extended to take additional families with immediate effect,”

If only it were happening just to this building, but it isn’t. Newcomer asylum centres being set up in some of the nicest villages you ever saw. This gets press because the facility is well-known. Historic small holiday hotels been forced into compulsory contracts all over England. Press does not cover it and villages keep quiet out of fear.

I have noticed that the media is not interested in doing follow up reports on the status of other historic buildings being used to house migrants. Like the Vienna Opera House for example. They used to do a New Year's concert every year and they haven't done one in awhile. I am sorry for those happy couples who have to scramble to find other venues for their Big Day.

See how easy it is to lead sheep to the slaughter? And we always wondered what was in the German heart that allowed them to stand idly by and watch their fellow Germans be sent off to the gas chambers. Pretty clear, isn’t it? All it takes is to avert your gaze when you see injustice. It’s kind of like the J6th prisoners who are receiving little to no outrage over their treatment. We are all comfy until they come for us. Britain is no longer great and one of the main reasons is that they will not stand up for what they know is right. It’s quickly coming here. Pray that we find in our souls the courage to stand up against the tyranny that is on our doorstep.

Why are migrants suddenly more important that real citizens? It's happening in many Western countries, including the US, even with migrants who have a stated goal of killing all Westerners. Is it just me or is this pure lunacy?

The liberal New York Times made the case Monday that Republican Herschel Walker has been ostracized from the black community in his small hometown amid his bid to unseat Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) in the race for U.S. Senate in Georgia. Times reporter John Branch, who is based in California, used mostly anonymous sources and anecdotes from visiting Walker’s hometown of Wrightsville to generalize that feelings that Walker, a Georgia football legend, is not in touch with the black community are “flowering ahead of November’s election.” “Herschel’s not getting the Black vote because Herschel forgot where he came from. … He’s not part of the Black community,” Branch quotes

San Francisco’s government raised the Chinese flag over city hall last week to mark the founding of the People’s Republic of China 73 years ago. The city government’s action was carried out despite Beijing’s ongoing genocide in western China, as well as propaganda support for Russia’s war against Ukraine. The flag-raising took place during a ceremony on Friday with city and Chinese officials and local business representatives, according to Chinese state media. Oct. 1 was the anniversary of the founding of the communist state that critics say has been responsible for the deaths of millions of people since the Chinese Communist Party seized power in 1949.

North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan, for the first time in five years on Tuesday, prompting a warning for residents to take cover and a temporary suspension of train operations in the northern part of the country. It said it did not use any defence measures to destroy the missile, which was the first to fly over or past Japan from North Korea since 2017. President Biden traveled Monday to Puerto Rico to survey hurricane damage, meet with families and announce $60 million in emergency aid to prepare the island for future storms. Mr. Biden’s trip comes two weeks after Hurricane Fiona ravaged the island. As of Monday, 100,000 people are still without power because of storm damage. After receiving a briefing from civil leaders about Fiona’s aftermath, Mr. Biden announced a new round of funding for the island. The aid will be used to shore up levees, strengthen flood walls and create new flood warning systems to prepare Puerto Ricans for future threats. It will come from the $1.2 trillion infrastructure package that Congress

Defunct newsstands and other abandoned New York City sidewalk structures will be turned into “street hubs” for bike-riding food delivery workers under a $1 million infrastructure initiative rolled out by Mayor Adams on Monday. Democrats have been frustrated by the fact that Republicans have been more successful with patriotic messaging than they since at least the 60’s. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) wanted regulatory reform, in part to reverse some of the Biden Administration reversals of Trump era reforms intended to expedite permits for fossil fuel projects.
