Sen. Rick Scott on Sunday responded with reluctant criticism of former President Donald Trump‘s verbal jab at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife, Elaine Chao. Mr. Trump on Friday lambasted Mr. McConnell as having a “DEATH WISH” for helping pass a stopgap funding bill to avoid a government shutdown and mocked Ms. Chao, who had served as his Transportation secretary.
“Must immediately seek help and advise from his China loving wife, Coco Chow!” Mr. Trump posted on his social media site Truth Social.
Mr. Scott of Florida, chairman of Senate Republicans’ campaign arm, initially dodged a question about whether such rhetoric was appropriate before he condemned it.

The Trump quote i saw was not racist.
Did scott read the quote or did he just automatically fold when the claim was asserted?

Right, #1, and that should have been Scott's reply.

Any time someone speaks truth about the influence of the CCP, Democrats start screaming "racist!". Decades ago, the CCP realized they didn't have to militarily conquer the USA, all they had to do was buy it and its corrupt politicians. They now own most Democrats, a bunch of Republicans, and large physical chunks of our country. Obama is their b***h, and he controls Biden, their mentally deficient pet.

DC newspapers reporting on CNN shows. Not the best conduits for reliable interpretation of comments. Trump calls em as he see em. A reference of this type true or not, is not threatening like Democrat Tim Ryan of Ohio saying MAGA movement must die, or Biden threatening half America as domestic terrorists. No comparison period dot.

China is a mortal enemy. The theft of intellectual property, the infiltration of American systems and institutions, the espionage, and currency manipulation notwithstanding, the closure of Wuhan to domestic flights, while allowing infected passengers to board international flights was an act of war. President Trump played hardball with China. Other American pols mostly play softball with China. Dems are completely compromised, Republicans are not much better.

Actually #1, she is an heiress of the largest shipping company in SE Asia. Her father might be part of the Party in Beijing, but he has other interests as well. Interests that led him to ''gift'' Turtle $26 million dollars several years ago. Personally, I still think that money came from Beijing and was laundered through her family ties.

Chinese is not a race. It's an enemy nationality. American is not a race. Russian is not a race. Iranian is not a race. Cuban is not a race. Even if they demand a mono racial culture, that still doesn't make the nationality a race.

It’s not racist to call out a person’s national allegiance, especially these days when it involves Communist China. Whether what Trump alleged is true or not is a different story that remains to be seen.

There were a hundred better ways Trump could have made his case of this apparent conflict of interest... but he chose none of them.

I love President Trump but he has to stop giving the left ammunition. Unforced errors drives me crazy. He does speak the truth I understand that, but be needs to be smart about it. The left loves nothing more than play the victim and will cry foul over any imagined slight when they say things and actually call for violence against their opposition and that is much worse. McConnell and Chou deserve every bit of criticism but it has to be done in a more artful way. Politics is a now a blood sport and you have to be smarter than you opponent. You give them nothing ever. Having said that, Rick Scott should have been prepared to give a better response. He knows the game, but I believe he is not a big fan of PDT.

-our President has never uttered anything what would qualify as a lie since 2015,
-just lost a whole lot of faith in rick scott and ... he should know that Hong Kong Mitch is in the bag for the Chicoms but he's a pencil neck just like the rest of the repubs in the senate

Republicans are always the 1st to jump on republicans...what does Rick have to say about the occupant of the WH talking to a dead person at a WH news conference, calling MAGA names, arresting pro life protestors, spying on parents, raiding x presidents home, taking phones from congressional member & supporters???? Rick should be trashing McConnell for voting constantly with Biden. McConnell is not a good representative of the party.

To Rick Scott: So was it okay when Russ Feingold and John McCain tried to reform campaign finance? The stuff going on in campaigns and elections have to stop. Every American person should be able to vote knowing that we have honest elections. It is disgusting to see campaigns being bought and paid for by entities that have no right or say-so other than the American citizen. . .

It really doesn't matter what Trump says. The Left will demonize any R who runs against Brandon/whomever. Look at what they already say about DeSantis. Get over it, Pubbies. Try to make at least as much noise against the Dems for their politicization of our justice system as you do smacking Trump's fingers for speaking the truth.

Nothing racist in that remark. We refer to people who live here with ancestors in all countries of the world as Americans. Many still love their countries of origin. Is that racist? There is absolutely nothing wrong with being Chinese that the removal of the communist leadership in China will not correct. My Chinese friends are some of the best people that I know.

I see some on here have fallen for the scam. I love DT BUT..... If DT could just use his words better........Blah blah blah. The GOP are such narcissists that they will help the Dems in a heartbeat if it helps them as well. Scott had no business responding in public the way he did. I guarantee it did not help him with the Uncle Tom crowd. Air your dirty laundry in private or expect more Bidens to enter the WH.

Here's our principal at our house. After what the Left has done to President Trump, without any support from Republicans like Cocaine Mitch, Donald Trump can say whatever the hell he wants to say. We are amazed at President Trump's restraint. Most of us would be howling hyenas, if he endured half of what DJT endured for the past 6 years. Not to mention his entire family being attacked daily for all that time...sued, subpoenaed, lied, slandered, libeled...

The WSJ editorial jumped all over and Trump as well. It’s disgusting! Who says we have to take the high road every time fiery statement is made. I guess it’s a need to be loved, but it always ends like Lucy and the football. These wusses are virtue signaling! Rick Scott is a big disappointment. Once a wuss, always a wuss, I guess. I have some news for Senator Scott. No lefty is going to vote for you and you won’t lose Republican votes. As far as the virtuous independents go, they’ll go with whomever is winning, which this time around will be Republicans.

It's a real problem that Republicans can't think on their feet if we're going to carry on with having radical Marxists control the national Democrat news media, seeing how "journalists" always have loaded questions ready for their enemies. We have Donald Trump and probably Ron DeSantis, and few others that can blast back with facts to put these walking roaches in their place.
