White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre encouraged the Atlanta Braves to have a “conversation” about picking a new name Monday—hours after President Biden hosted the team to celebrate their 2021 World Series championship. Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg News asked Jean-Pierre at her regular briefing for Biden’s position on the Braves’ nickname as well as the controversial “tomahawk chop” cheer. “We believe that it’s important to have this conversation, you know, and Native American and indigenous voices, they should be at the center of this conversation,” Jean-Pierre responded. “That is something that the president believes, that is something this administration believes, and he has consistently emphasized

I do not understand this rush to change every team name that is based on American Indians. Would you change "Indians" to "Wimps"? "Braves" to "Cowards"? The Indian nations/tribes were formidable and feared opponents, which is why "Indians" and "Braves" were chosen as team names. I would think current American Indians would object to changing team names as doing so would relegate them to the back pages of U.S. history.

Try as they might, the democrats were unable to completely eradicate American Indians from the face of the earth. That doesn't mean they cant eradicate them from all aspects of our culture though, like sports teams and butter cartons. One way or another, the democrats feel compelled to wipe out all the Indians.

President Biden on Wednesday signed off on a $1.1 billion security assistance package to Ukraine, bringing the total U.S. commitment to $16.2 billion since the start of Russia’s invasion seven months ago. The support will include 18 additional High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) that have proven to be highly effective on the battlefield. Also included will be 150 Humvees and 150 tactical vehicles needed to tow heavy weapons, Pentagon officials said Wednesday. The latest package comes as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). The program does not pull weapons directly from U.S. stockpiles, but uses congressionally-appropriated funds to contract for the hardware through the private sector.

Tucked inside Democrats’ new spending bill is $15.3 million in emergency money for the FBI to investigate Afghan evacuees brought to the U.S. during last year’s chaotic airlift. Congress is pumping the money into the FBI just a month after Director Christopher A. Lawmakers said the money is the latest evidence of a hasty evacuation that jeopardizes American safety. “The Biden administration’s decision to let tens of thousands of unvetted Afghans into our country first and ask questions later has backfired,”
