This is becoming a popular line of reasoning for Republican voters looking to the 2024 presidential election. Republicans are getting comfortable with saying the hard part out loud – it’s time for a younger, nondramatic version of Trump to run for president. It’s one thing for regular voters to deliver such an opinion (and completely understandable), it’s more noticeable when it comes from a loyal Trump supporter or a former member of Trump’s administration.
Granted, the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago reminded everyone of the never-ending drama that surrounds Trump and the continuous overreach his opponents provide in their quest to prevent him from running for president again. Mick Mulvaney,

It’s not drama, its an America First President showing how to lead against Democrats and the media, something no other Republican has done since Abraham Lincoln.

I'm not sure I buy into Laura or Mick's reasoning, but I think they would agree that the way to win in 2022 (and 2024) is to present a strong agenda and not to whine and complain about the loss (and probable fraud) in 2020.
I sure have had enough of the false cries of a stolen election, Russia, Russia, Russia in 2016. Yes, we need to be vigilant in 2022 and 2024, but it's not what affects people everyday.
And doing that should insure we win by more than they can steal.

I have never liked Laura Ingraham, (who worked for Justice Thomas, BTW — sort of like John Kerry was in VN, or John Kasic’s father was a postman).
Every time I listen to her, she’s name/place dropping.

About #3: yes, yes, YES!!!!! I thought I was the only one.
There's something swampy about her in the sense of being part of the D.C. scene for WAY too long. She seems snobbish and enjoys letting her viewers know she moves in the best circles.
I haven't watched FOX since the election, but prior to that she was the bookend of my primetime viewing. Never felt totally confident about her being truly conservative.

The whining about Trump's style is just plain blind to our country's needs. We are in a war against leftist ideology, moral decay, and deep state poison among innumerable other cultural perversions. Wars aren't won by 'being nice'. Wars are won by the likes of a George Patton, a Douglas McCarthur - or a Donald J Trump. Yes, maybe Florida's governor DeSantis is strong enough to win the war. But this voter is very willing to put up with Trump's persona because I think Trump has the NY moxie to at least start to bring us back from the brink. Go away Ingraham.

President Trump is not the person causing the drama. His enemies, and ours, are causing the drama. If there is a younger "Trump", a true younger "Trump", there would still be the same drama because he or she would have the same enemies. Mulvaney and Ingraham are introducing to the conservative audience the need for the next generation "Trump". Perhaps as Sundance has been writing about how Noem and DeSantis have been recently positioning themselves as "safe" MAGA alternatives. Just sayin'...food for thought.

I guess they prefer open borders, high inflation, high gas prices, high crime rate, one sided justice …what do they call Biden’s term? The media & JD created the drama..not Trump! Did they think Trump would sit back & not defend himself?

Trump’s style is mandated by by the destructive consuming hatred of the dims. Unfortunately they must be dealt with summarily and without pussyfooting. The dims are like a drunken spouse who foments conflict and then acts shocked and outraged that the other spouse has become inflamed.

Let’s not lose focus. What matters is good policy and the courage to carry it out. Time will tell who the best person is to lead the charge.

And please surround yourself with better people. Way to many nut jobs in high places. And try doing something we have all been advised to do. When you are honked off write it down, all of it, express yourself and get it out of your system. Then delete it and get on with life. Yes, he was a strong President, taking on some enormous problems, not playing the game the Establishment expected him to but there were many situations of his own doing. It's going to be a wild ride.

Ingram can go to Michigan. Hell, Michigan. She is of no use to conservatives. She was of no use to document the 2020 steel and she'll be no use in the 2024.
Didn't Rush explain this to us? You don't let the enemy pick your candidate! They will Never let you pick one that can win.
The sooner Trump is outa the way, the sooner they will find DeSantis' pee tape.

This is just a soft GOP establishment attack on Trump and MAGA.
Absolutely no different from all previous, "I am voting for Biden to destroy the country because Trump has mean tweets, you should, too!"

Laura and Mick are both morons. They spout the same old drivel of appeasement. Election fraud will never be in our rearview but the one that occurred in 2020 was major. If we forget and don't prevent it from happening again then why even have elections? I use to like Laura as well but after her nonsense in 2020 I cut the cord. Another useless talking head. Paycheck first, America last. Business as usual for two cowards.

I am so sick of this kind of reasoning especially in this particular political climate. Our enemies, the democrats and their leftists supporters are terribly vicious, vindictive and many of them are actually violent in their approach to the public arena. Statements have been made about President Trump that are beyond the pale but I don’t see or hear much pushback from these sensitive souls to that kind of rhetoric. Why does the left get a pass?
Clearly, President Trump’s brutal honesty hits a chord in both camps. The left hates being called out for exactly what they are and the pearl clutchers take to their fainting couches when they hear the unvarnished truth spoken in today’s vernacular. Of course, we would like to see more comity and grace but that is not where we are today. Donald Trump did not start this viciousness, but at least, he has the courage to confront it when most politicians cower underneath the weight of its intimidation. The left knows if they can intimidate you, they can control you. Please do not give them that advantage. We need people of courage to stand toe to toe to these bullies because it is the right thing to do. Appeasement will not work with this cabal. You must be prepared to fight for what you know is right and good. This is not your granddaddy’s political climate. It is as serious as it gets and the left would love nothing better than an opposition that behaves like it is 1950. We are in a war against a formidable enemy and we cannot give them any quarter. Look what they are doing to our beloved country. We cannot hamstring ourselves. We must go with a proven warrior. The enemy must be defeated. It cannot be appeased and if that takes hearing something hard truths, so be it.

The drama is not from Trump, the drama is from the democrats that will go after every republican president that is not in the RINO club. I love Ron DeSantis, but he doesn't have the MONEY to fight and hire lawyers all the time.

Having to defend yourself 100% of the time from baseless MFM smears can make for "bad drama" for those who chirp from the sidelines.

#6, excellent post, and exactly correct!
DJT was willing to defend himself against lies, unlike George H.W. Bush,. Robert Dole, George W. Bush.
He was precisely what our country needed in 2020. God smiled on us and stopped Lady Lucifer to cheat her way to the presidency, and DJT was strong enough to fight off the false accusations that might have sunk any other President.
Can DJT be annoying at times? Of course! Achievers tend to be annoying from time to time

'May' .. 'maybe' .. 'if' does not sound like a very strong anti-Trump position. I will listen to that podcast later this morning while doing busy work.
Laura is definitely friendly with the elite class, but I think that is only so she can keep her platform. The Rinos who play both sides of the fence would not speak to her otherwise. They shoot people on the front lines, and to think we are not in a war for survival is delusional.
Trump not only relishes the fight, I think he sometimes encourages it on purpose because that brings out the issues. To affect real change, that is what needs to happen. Bring in others in 2028 after he's cleaned up the swamp. Things can change at home and abroad very quickly when you eliminate the 25% or so of everything that is being skimmed off the top.

What do they mean by "Non-dramatic". The fact that he rallies the crowd? And the democrats don't. Look at AOC and her Merry Band of left-wing nuts, Beto, Stacey Abrams. Give me a break. Democrats just don't have any leaders that inspire as Donald Trump does and they can't stand it.

I expect the "drama" to end when FPDT is indicted and perp walked shortly after announcing his candidacy, the legal issues entangling him through the campaign season. It's going to happen because he will not be allowed to become the GOP nominee in '24. The ground is now being prepared in NYC and DC. PDT was bad for UNIPARTY business, and that's just not allowable. They're the ones chanting, "Lock him up!" The Trumpistas will jump, jive, and wail to no effect. The question then becomes whether these patriots will find their way to vote for an alternative, such as DeSantis. Or, will the alternative candidate be tarred as a usurper and abandoned? Those "commie Dems"...

The problem is this - the minute someone else emerges to take over for Trump The same media etc forces will go after him/her. Because they're not really after Trump except insofar as he represents all of us. So Laura has now jumped the shark as far as I am concerned. We don't let the opposition dictate to use we do the dictating.

Well…may they live happily ever after. I don’t care about either of them or their opinions.
One interesting thng is happening, although it is still early. These articles are flushing out the anti-Trumpers. They move stealthily, but they are recognizable.
