Representative Liz Cheney admitted Wednesday that she is “thinking about” running for president in 2024, hours after losing the Republican primary for Wyoming’s only House seat to Trump-backed Harriet Hageman in a landslide. Hageman, a political newcomer, bested the 56-year-old daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney by more than 30 percentage points with 90 percent of the vote counted, handing former president Donald Trump what is perhaps his biggest victory yet this primary cycle by knocking off his chief antagonist in Congress. First, she's only 56? Holy moly, I thought she was in her mid 60s. Second, she's high if she thinks anyone would vote for her. In dem circles the Cheney name is mud and she just made it so in the repub world too. It's time for her to get a job at the local Cracker Barrel and leave the politics to people with the ability to make rational decisions without their daddy's input.

I've been thinking about making a run for the Presidency in 2024, too. I think I would have at least as good a chance of being elected as Liz(ard) Cheney. Oh, and I have also been thinking about winning the U.S. Open golf tournament, the Boston Marathon, Gran Prix of Monaco and Mr. Olympia. That's the wonderful thing about thinking. Almost every "Republican" who has attacked Trump has faded from view. Beyond Trump returning criticism of them and supporting primary opponents, he hasn't done too much. Instead, the People have decided that such Republicans do NOT deserve to represent them. Liz is one of the worst and she got thoroughly dismissed. Good luck running for president when you can't even win the primary for Congressman. Her arrogance shows she should have NO place in politics She spits in the face of the electorate. SHE knows what is best. She is the Empress that should rule us. She has a terminal case of "Washington" sickness. If she runs, it will only be to have the media cover her insane hatred of Trump.

If Cheney runs it will not be about her winning, but her trashing candidate Trump. There are "protest" candidates in every presidential primary field. Most are quickly ignored. If Cheney makes an effort she'll get 5-10 percent in polls, enough to get her invited to "debates". And then she has her opportunity to stand athwart history shouting STOP! She's walking out of Wyoming with millions left over from her congressional campaign. I'm not clear on Wyoming ballot access laws...may one lose a primary and run in the general as an "independent"? She may not be gone yet.

Lying Lizzie is now a pariah in the Republican Party, so the GOP nom is a non-starter. As is switching and becoming a Rat - she's nothing but a useful tool to them in their never-ending assault against Trump, and once she's out of Congress in January she's no longer of any use to them. Her only hope is that the Lincoln Project form a third party and run Liz "Lincoln" Cheney as their candidate, in which she would only serve to siphon votes away from whoever the Rats run.

The whole rationale would be to hopefully siphon off just enough votes to prevent the potential Republican nominee from winning in 2024, specifically if that nominee is President Trump. The billionaires in the Democrat party would provide her hundreds of millions of dollars simply to do whatever she felt was needed to deny Trump, and they would be okay with whomever the Democrat nominee.

Dr. Mehmet Oz, who earned former President Donald Trump’s primary-race endorsement in April, is going down in flames according to a new GOP poll. Republican-affiliated Public Opinion Strategies reports that surgeon-turned-TV-host Dr. Oz trails Democrat John Fetterman by nearly 20 points. Trump gave Oz his “complete and total endorsement” before the wide-open GOP primary of six candidates, a move that probably sealed the deal with Pennsylvania Republicans. The doc won in a squeaker, barely beating out second-place finisher David McCormick, 31.2% to 31.1%. The former president praised Oz’s positions on abortion, crime, the Second Amendment, border security, the military, education, energy independence

Enthusiasm for voting in this year’s midterm election has grown by six points after the FBI raided the Mar-a-Lago, the home of former President Donald Trump, according to two recent YouGov polls. When 1500 adult U.S. citizens were asked from August 13 to 16 if they were more or less enthusiastic about voting in this year’s election compared to the previous congressional election year, 51 percent of Republicans said they were more enthusiastic. This is an increase of six points in enthusiasm since the YouGov poll from August 7 to 9. The August 7 to 9 poll showed only 45 percent were more enthusiastic about voting in this year’s election than in the previous congressional election year.

Since the outset of the global monkeypox outbreak in May, public health and infectious disease experts have told the public that the virus is largely transmitting through skin-to-skin contact, in particular during sex between men. Now, however, an expanding cadre of experts has come to believe that sex between men itself — both anal as well as oral intercourse — is likely the main driver of global monkeypox transmission. The skin contact that comes with sex, these experts say, is probably much less of a risk factor.
