Again, there’s that long-running joke that we don’t have a secret police force or an American version of the Schutzstaffel because the Internal Revenue Service exists. Of all agencies in the government, this one probably has the most accurate and up-to-date files on every taxpayer, which is no surprise. It was seen as the most hated agency in America for legitimate purposes, though the FBI and DOJ might have supplanted them given the recent raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago.
Still, the IRS becoming secret police might no longer be a joke. The page was taken down for problematic copy regarding the special agent positions,

Two thoughts here: Perhaps it is my ignorance, but I don't see why someone from the IRS would need to be armed. Can't they get the FBI or local police resources for matters.
Secondly, one should never carry a weapon unless they are willing to use deadly force. I can't criticize this aspect of the story.

The rule has always been if you are contacted by an IRS “special agent” you hire a criminal lawyer, quickly. There is nothing new in this bill or the role of a special agent, except they are knte ding to hire more of them than are qualified. The gestapo?

Reported elsewhere was that a grand jury is seated for this situation.
If that is correct, wouldn't the judge supervising the grand jury (located in D.C., I would assume) be the one to sign the warrant? The person signing the warrant would have to be satisfied that there is probable cause that a crime had been committed.
Finally, if we believe that the issue was retention of classified documents, even looking at the case in a light least favorable to DJT, he was negotiating with the National Archives staff as to which documents should go to the National Archives. There was no crime. There could not have been.
And if the FBI really believed that a search was necessary, why didn't they search at Trump Towers? DJT's NJ golf course? His aircraft??

While this sounds ominous, and it might actually be in the current environment, my father was an IRS special agent who had a badge and a gun....and he retired from the IRS well over 30 years ago, so this is nothing new.

This is the reason I have objected to having us be forced to use our Social Security Number, aka Taxpayer ID on any documents other than for Social Security purposes. Everything is on their system and we are doomed. They are heading us off at the pass from using cash or Bitcoin. We have to find a way to stop and reverse this NOW!!!

Several points:
1. The IRS workforce is aging and is facing a sudden increase in retirements. Some of the hiring will be replacements.
2. New auditors must have training. To get experience, at least in past years, the IRS will issue audit notices en masse so that the newbies can get experience. To start them out easy, only low income returns with simple tax issues, maybe self-employed small business, will be selected. This does not include "the rich." Jeff Bezos. Bill Gates, and Jamie Diamond will not be "taking a number" down at the local IRS office waiting room.
3. All the free give away programs, like Earned Income Credit for low paid workers with kids and the stimulus payments, cause people who do not owe income tax to file tax returns to make sure they get in line for the free money. This drives up the cost at the IRS.
4. The Obamacare provisions cause a lot of people to file tax returns even though they don't owe tax.
5. The IRS has an incredible amount of information for tracking everything about the citizens. All the extra returns keeps more people's information in the system. They know where you work, where you go to church (by tracking donations), your kid's info, where you gamble, where your kids go to college, who holds the mortgage on your house, and much more. Recently, they want your driver's license info and your facial recognition info. Combine the IRS database with a crooked White House (Lois Lerner illegally sent info on over 1.5 million taxpayers to the White House) and a corrupt FBI (chasing down people who were in D.C. on Jan 6, 2021) the government can be oppressive on a widespread and dangerous basis. Little people can be squashed.

Since we can't have an armed military inside this country by law, we will use an armed IRS to scare the Deplorables into compliance with our demands.

This was the reason when Obama was reigning as supreme commander that the IRS buget allotted money to purchase thousands of rounds of ammunition. Here is the answer today for that the IRS becomes a police force or another enforcement arm of the democrat/communist Nazis. An armed tax collection agency that points a gun at you when you are being audited. Those 401-Ks with differed taxes are on record for the Nazi IRS to confiscate, you owe them now. I would look for interment camps to follow this after all the arrest for tax cheats with boxcars and rails running right through the gates. You think it can't happen?

Another reason why the Left/IRS is hellbent on getting rid of our 2nd Amendment and taking OUR firearms. The Left will have weapons and we don't. So we are defenseless and can't fight back with them taking over. The Left is talking openly now of Global World Order, (or as they used to call it, New World Order, or the Great Reset.)

The IRS cried about being hated before, now they are giving us fresh new reasons. If this outright power grab goes through, they will be about as popular as Garland's FBI. They will get 87,000 new potential brownshirt soldiers. We have 300,000,000 million firearms out here. Do the math.
The democrats may want to rethink this one.

This is indeed alarming, but you have to understand IRS job descriptions to know why. Biden and the libs loosely refer to hiring "IRS agents." Sounds formidable, but could possibly be spun by the left-wing media as somewhat "innocuous" and no reason for panic---just a bunch of number-crunchers helping identify those who refuse to pay "their fair share." The social justice warriors will approve.
But, surprise! That's NOT what the IRS was advertising for! Nope! The ad that was pulled was seeking "special agents"---and that is an entirely different ball game! Not all IRS "agents" are the same!
There are 3 types of IRS agents: Officers, Revenue Agents, and Special Agents. In the course of our daily living, we might encounter IRS Revenue Agents and/or Revenue Officers. They are the number-crunchers and bill collectors. But...those were not the jobs being offered in the ad. Nope! They were specifically advertising for "Special Agents" which are the “police force” of the IRS. They are the only IRS agents authorized to carry badges and firearms and investigate tax crimes, such as embezzlement.
Most of us would never come into contact with an IRS Special Agent. UNTIL NOW.
This is mega-serious stuff.
