Lived off Parents’ Money Until His Mid-40s

Pennsylvania Democrat U.S. Senate nominee John Fetterman’s “blue collar” image is being called into question after reports revealed he lived off of his parents’ money well into his mid-40s. Although Fetterman runs ads that purport him to be a “blue collar tough guy,” his parents reportedly financially supported him while he served as mayor of Braddock, Pennsylvania, for 13 years. Fetterman, who has acknowledged his “cushy” suburban childhood, has openly admitted to the financial contributions his parents gave him as an adult.

Every candidate for office tries to create an aura of both heroics and "regular guy" for election use. It's branding the commodity. Let me know when some honest candidate tells the public: "Hi, I'm Mary Smith Jones, and I came from a family of great privilege. Dad was a multimillionaire, listed in Who's Who since birth. Mom was a social climber. I never worked a day in my life, went to the best European finishing school, married well, and became politically active after Buffy and Biff graduated from their Ivy Universities, which they attended as legacy admissions on scholarship...."

#8, never generalize! Fetterman has taken the model of poor kid making good, beyond that of many politicians, including the Delaware Dunce. Dr. Oz should be running TV ads, accurately pointing out the facts about Fetterman, his fake persona, and his peculiar policy positions. (Fetterman has proposed that every prisoner, in every prison in the United States, be given a 1/3 reduction in sentence.) Oz has not run a very effective campaign against Fetterman so far. Fetterman has been brutal in his criticisms of Oz.

After picking a political fight with Florida over the state’s Parental Rights in Education Law, and declaring itself an LGBTQ ally to boot, Disney is reportedly censoring gay and transgender content on the version of the Disney+ streaming service that it launched in the region in June. Among the titles that won’t stream are the animated movie Lightyear, which features a lesbian kiss, and the Baymax series, which has a transgender “man” who menstruates. Disney cited “local regulatory requirements” in a statement to Esquire Middle East. “Content offerings differ across our many Disney+ markets, based upon a number of factors. Content available should align with local regulatory requirements,” the studio said.

When WNBA star Brittney Griner was convicted on drug charges Thursday, she was not merely sentenced to nine years in a normal jail or prison. She was given time in a Russian penal colony, which is quite different than a normal correctional facility. Russia's penal colonies are descendants of the notorious Soviet-era gulags where prisoners have been subjected to harsh treatment and poor conditions. Prisoners in the system have been beaten by other inmates, endured torture and forced to watch Russian propaganda for hours every day in what's known as "awareness raising." Following several days of Griner's trial, which stemmed
