Seminal Alzheimer's study claiming memory-robbing
disease was caused by build-up of protein
in brain may have been MANIPULATED, damning
investigation claims

The data behind the most influential theory of what causes Alzheimer's disease may have been 'manipulated', a damning scientific probe has claimed. Experts fear the allegedly falsified results have misled research over the last 16 years, potentially wasting billions of pounds of funding. A six-month investigation by Science, considered one of the world's most respected research journals, uncovered 'shockingly blatant' tampering of results in the seminal 2006 University of Minnesota study. The paper pointed to a particular protein—known as amyloid beta—as the driving force behind Alzheimer's.(Snip)But images from the study, which involved injecting mice with the protein, appear to be doctored to 'better fit a hypothesis'

Comments:

Obviously they've never heard of Settled Science. Just wait until someone unmasks the research behind the super-profitable mRNA shots.

Now, who do we know has a buildup of plaque in the brain and has manipulative handlers guiding this person through airports and making sure feet stay on the red carpet during ceremonies? This person also says the wrong things at the wrong time (aka gaffes), sometimes even wondering aloud '...now what am I supposed to do?' Does any famous person you might know fit that description? False alzheimers research...somebody get a rope.

Researchers falsified results for which a government grant was subsequently issued, is that what happened, and subsequently led other research down a pot holed filled road. The article mentioned who conducted the research or wrote their findings. Will the individual be held accountable? If not why not? The falsification led to the US Govt subsequently issuing $1.3B in grants. Are we supposed to be surprised when billions of $$$ can be released as the result of a research paper, whether true or not? This is corruption in science. Just like Faucistein and his Wuhan funding.

My own theory about the rise in Alzheimer's cases comes from something I learned in High School Biology class eon's ago. It was that the brain and all of it's connections were protected by layers of fat, and that natural fats were vital to keep most body systems working properly. Enter the proponents of the disastrous "Food Pyramid" who told us that stuffing our faces with carbohydrates was the way to go...for everyone. They said that if we cut down on meat protein and eliminate as much natural (animal) fats from the diet as possible we could live forever. No doctor could ever explain to me why losing weight was so difficult for me and gaining was so easy. Nothing worked until I reversed the whole thing and the weight fell off in no time. Weight gain is nothing compared to developing Alzheimer's, but could one more bunch of "experts" have deceived the public so much that the test results had to be manipulated to prove" their theory, and condemn another group of people to so much suffering?

Not surprisingly, the scientists interviewed were shocked, but not concerned. After all, the one type of protein in the UM study helped point the rest of the world in the direction they are in now, and finding other types of amyloid proteins that are causing damage. The term, no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater was mentioned a couple of times. Of course, none want to see a halt to their current funding levels, which would affect their particular scientific status. However, I recall they found manipulation in the climate science a few years back, but that has not altered the path of research dollars, it would seem.

Ok, the ramifications are quite serious, For years the science (flawed) drove the direction of Pharma to focus on the plaque build up. This led to some expensive and low effectiveness de-plaquing drugs. Because the science was corrupt, years of more appropriate drug development was missed. More suffering by patients who were prescribed drugs that didn't work. A new direction in how to approach these brain diseases is being pursued by some small pharma companies like AXVL and SAVA. But, do your research. Too late for my dad who ended his long good bye a couple months ago

More and more we are hearing about “science” that turns out to be a fraud. Every time I hear someone tell me that I should follow the science I cringe. In many cases, the research is paid to prove a specific idea. Guess what! The researcher comes up with the the desired results. This was the case with global warming. The truth is that most warming can be traced to the Sun. And, it is also true that the planet has experienced warmer climate during the medieval warming period. The truth is that climate cycles over a period of several centuries.

NIH funding, under Fraud Fauci's leadership. The battle for years has been tau versus amyloid. Billions have been spent and it looks like those who did tau will win the day. I spoke to a clinical trial physician who tested the Biogen drug that was supposed to be $58,000 / year and she said it didn't work in the clinical trials. Pfizer made billions and billions off Aricept, which also didn't work but it gave a placebo effect to the families (mine included) that at least you were trying something. I know of one drug going into clinical trials soon for tau, let's hope it's the answer.

Researchers at the University College London said evidence doesn’t support the underlying idea, originated 60 years ago, that a “chemical imbalance” in the brain produces a lack of serotonin. That imbalance is what has long driven prescription drugs for antidepressants, known as selective serotonin-reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs.
