It wouldn’t be a British sporting event without a young royal’s silly faces stealing the show. The eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance at the Wimbledon finals on Sunday, weeks after his little brother, Prince Louis, went viral for his wacky expressions at the Queen’s Jubilee. The 8-year-old royal joined his parents in the royal box during the men’s finals and was seen pulling funny faces throughout the match. Dressed in a blue suit, Prince George sat between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

He is 8 and trying to be a normal kid under the constant glare of cameras and press. Lighten up!! Had you been on the world stage at 8 I doubt you would have been a paragon of propriety unless someone was there to beat you when you did something wrong, which Kate and Will are obviously not doing, thank goodness. Makes you wonder who has NEVER had kids.

It is hard in their world to grow up being a joyful child when adults are bowing, scraping and staring at you. There is a reason you don’t see children his age at Wimbledon much unless they are just intensely interested in tennis. It is a long while to sit there in the sun trussed up with tie and jacket!! Poor fellow.

I’m with #4. And I also remember the famous balcony photo, when Charles and Diana got married, of Winston Churchill’s great great granddaughter with her finger in her nose. She was probably about the same age that George is now.

Surprise visit my arse. They saw the positive response the family received after the last public appearance of Kate and Bill's kids, and decided if a little is good, then more is better. An eight-year-old picking his nose isn't the sort of behavior one really wants to see in public especially if it's a royal nose, but again, the kid's eight years old, and as Art Linkletter use to say, "Kids do the darndest things".

President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is extending temporary amnesty status for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans living in the United States who would otherwise be eligible for deportation. On Monday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the Biden administration will extend Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 more months to about 343,000 Venezuelans living in the United States. The move comes after former President Trump and then current President Biden rewarded Venezuelans with TPS in January 2021 and March 2021 respectively.

So what do we do?' A city spokesperson tells citizens: 'While the likelihood of a nuclear weapon incident occurring in/near New York City is very low, it is important New Yorkers know the steps to stay safe.' She encourages citizens to follow these 'key, simple steps in the event of such an incident.'

Marie Antoinette, the beheaded wife of the beheaded French Bourbon King Charles Louis XVI, did not really say “Let them cake.” But in the short time that the French Revolution became utterly unhinged, toxic, and nihilistic, she became nonetheless iconic as an out-of-touch elite who had lived in a make-believe world at Versailles, without a clue (or care?) about the ordeal of the masses. Rather than worry about the drudgery of the French peasant, Marie dressed up as one. And she roamed about in her idyllic faux peasant “farm” at the Hameau de la Reine, near the palace at Versailles. Apparently, during these brief rustic interludes, Marie felt

In the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned, a viral story about a 10-year-old girl in Ohio being raped, impregnated, and unable to obtain an abortion spread like wildfire across the political sphere. Major news networks covered it as truth despite the fact that it was a single-sourced account from an abortion doctor who provided zero corroborating details. The story was then used as proof of how harmful Republican abortion bans are to the point that even Joe Biden got in on the act. The president used the report to rail against pro-life laws, proclaiming “imagine being that little girl” while asserting that Ohio forces raped children to give birth.

Jackson Women’s Health Organization draft decision in May, indicating the longstanding Roe v. Wade decision would be overturned.

The father of one of the teenagers killed in the Parkland school mass shooting heckled President Joe Biden before he was kicked out of an event at the White House meant to celebrate the passage of the new bipartisan gun law. The gun safety legislation, which was passed after recent gun rampages in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, incrementally toughens requirements for young people buying guns, denies firearms to more domestic abusers and helps local authorities temporarily take weapons from people judged to be dangerous. But it also comes after the Fourth of July shooting in Highland Park where seven people were killed and 46 injured.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has warned power consumers in Texas to conserve energy on Monday afternoon and evening because there will not be enough wind power to operate the power grid reliably in peak demand. (Tweet) Though Texas is known for its role in the oil industry, it is also the nation’s number-one producer of wind energy. During a cold snap in the winter of 2021, however, wind turbines froze and many Texans found themselves without electricity. Now that scenario is likely to repeat itself, albeit due to high temperatures that are accompanied by calm conditions.

Fewer Americans than ever say that they believe that the Bible should be taken literally, while a record number of Americans now say they view the holy book as a compilation of "fables, legends, history and moral precepts recorded by man," according to a Gallup poll. One in five Americans surveyed said the Bible is the "actual word of God, to be taken literally," about half off from the high point in 1984. The survey also shows that as fewer Americans are ranking religion as "very important," the number of those who believe the Bible came directly from God decreases.

The WEF paper argues for the past 15 years, democracy has been in decline worldwide. To protect and promote freedom, “leading democracies must strengthen their economies and safeguard liberty.”
