Berkeley, Mo.—A man is facing charges after he was accused of beating his neighbor to death in Berkeley, Missouri, Wednesday morning. Isaac Heath, 31, was charged Thursday with first-degree murder, a class-A felony, and armed criminal action. St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell said there was some type of disturbance outside a home on Kathlyn Drive Wednesday morning. The victim, Eileen Schnitker, went outside to check out what was going on and Bell said that's when the woman was attacked. According to the Berkeley Police Department, the defendant was seen standing on the victim's porch, swinging a bat and striking an object.

Same old story; a person with raging mental illness is allowed to live free in society because mental hospitals are Mean, and it's a lot cheaper to leave them unhoused until they stop taking their medication and the voices tell them to kill someone.

According to the NYPost, Heath stated "that felt good" after beating and killing Eileen Schnitker. Does Missouri have its version of "Old Sparky"? If not use the old fashioned drawn hung emasculated disemboweled (former while still breathing) then beheaded and quartered punishment. Inflict as much pain as possible on Issac before taking the dirt nap.

I'm to the point where I don't give a rats is a person is "mentally ill".....execute him. No excuses. He's a murderer, and if you "cure him" and let him go in 15 years, he's likely to kill someone else. Just execute him, whacko or not.

Proof that it is not necessary for “nut jobs” to have access to firearms to murder innocent people?

Yes, #4. And when you get right down to it, almost anything can be used as an “assault weapon”. I’m sitting at my kitchen island and just looking around I see several things which could be used to assault someone. Even the iPad I’m using to access this site could be used to badly beat someone.

Mental Illness and 'legally insane' are two different things. If you know what you did was wrong and/or you planned the murder, you can't claim insanity. This crime shows premeditation, he threw something through the window to get her outside, then he beat her with a bat which he brought to the attack. He can be as looney as rabid bedbug. He's guilty of 1st degree murder and warrants the strongest sentence Mo. law allows.

I hate people referring to firearms (in all cases), as weapons for this reason. A table lamp is a table lamp, until it’s used as a weapon. A firearm is simply a firearm for the same reason. A pencil could become a weapon, but nobody calls it that until that’s how it’s used. Calling all firearms weapons just reinforces the misnomer that that’s all they’re used for.

Well, the fat, POS perp appears to be white, so they'll throw him in jail for life. When, when will they make it illegal to own a bat, one of many symbols of white supremacy?

And if the "sweet woman" had had a gun, the fat sweaty guy with mental problems would have been bringing a bat to a gunfight.
Why small women should support the "Great Equalizer." I am outweighed by three quarters of the human population, maybe more.

I must be different than most people i have always thought that when a crazy person kills someone they should get to cut the execution line and be next to go.

Same here, #13. Society doesn't try to rehabilitate a rabid dog that has harmed a person; why a rabid person (especially, if it's attacked/killed a person).

No real 'man' strikes a woman, period.
Hang him by the neck until dead.
