Monticello is going woke—and trashing Thomas Jefferson’s good name in the process. The Charlottesville, Virginia, home of the Founding Father and America’s third president is one of our best-known national monuments, familiar from its appearance on the nickel since 1938.(Snip)“The whole thing has the feel of propaganda and manipulation,” Jeffrey Tucker, founder of the libertarian Brownstone Institute and a recent visitor, told The Post.(Snip)“Half of the comments on Jefferson were critical,” wrote William Bailes of Chester, Virginia in an online review after visiting in June. “Even my 11-year-old daughter noticed the bias.” Tucker described his guide last month as “surly and dismissive”

Why, it's almost as if the Democrat Socialists who run the place are doing it on purpose, using a guideline of some sort. FTA: “The entire focus was on his mistress,” complained Wesley Stevens of Tulsa, Okla. “They are trying to rewrite history to make it seem like the founding fathers were terrible immoral creatures that happened to start a country.”

The last time we were there was 2015 and it was all about the slaves then.

I took the kids and found myself arguing with the tour guide. I'm not one to stand by and watch someone lie and slander a great man in his own home. I can go toe to toe with their unsupported lies with well documented facts all day long without once rising my voice or returning their emotional outbursts. They hate that.

Sally Hemings had children with a male of the Jefferson family. Which male is not known because mitochondrial DNA is not that specific. Therefore, a sexual relationship between Thomas Jefferson and Miss Hemings is purely conjecture and yet it has been elevated in status to fact. Let their descendants sort it out if they wish. From what I understand, white descendants of Thomas Jefferson and black descendants of Sally Hemings are on warm and cordial terms and socialize together as family. And as commendable as this is it’s really none of our business.
Slavery was abolished 76 years after the ratification of the Constitution. By law males, both black and white, were entitled to vote by 1864. It took another 56 years for women of any color to be able to vote in national elections. Rather than preaching and brow-beating tourists with embarrassing displays of ignorance and sloppy sentimentality perhaps the black community would benefit from less tolerance of the con-artists and criminals in their midst. Proving that Thomas Jefferson bedded Sally Hemings will not educate a generation or restore the black family and it won’t restore neighborhoods in blighted communities.

I've been saying for years now THEY won't be satisfied until they plow under Arlington Cemetery. The estate of Mrs Lee, General Lee's wife, inherited the slave run plantation from her father, George Washington Parke Custis, grandson of Martha Custis Washington.
This insanity must stop.

I am one of the few people who believe that it wasn't Thomas who had the affair with Sally Hemmings, it was his promiscuous brother. The smearing of Jefferson has been going on for a very long time.

The fact that many of the Founding Fathers had slaves so therefore EVERYTHING pertaining to them has to devalue their entire life's contributions to the founding of the United States is crap.
When viewed through the lens of slavery, which many have called America's 'original sin" and ONLY through that lens to the exception of everything else, is inaccurate.
Slavery has been around since before Biblical times, and is still going on TODAY in some parts of the World. Jefferson is often the only Founding Father libs revere, and now they want to replace it with socialists looking only in the context of modern contemporary time.
NO ONE can survive that kind of critical and whiny "look at me, I'm so superior" kind of lens.

How in the heck does this happen? Whoever is initiating these policies should be fired immediately. This is wrong on so many levels. When we need truth the most it is being driven from the public square. What in the world are the Republicans in Virginia doing about this? Come on. This is the kind of thing that just be nipped in the bud. Are Republicans asleep? It certainly appears that way.

Destroying historical icons is right out of the Marxist playbook.
BTW, once you brush aside the liberal dribble, Randolph Jefferson, Thomas' brother, looks like the best candidate to be the father of Sally Heming' s children. After Randolph's wife died, he started spending evenings at the slave quarters where they sang, danced and socialized. That's when Sally started having children. He visited the slave camp for years before he remarried. Sally had no more children after Randolph remarried. There is no evidence that Thomas socialized with the slaves.

In 1963, when listing their goals for the takeover of the USA, the communists promised to discredit the Founding fathers, presenting them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the common man. And here we are, taken over and the Founders trashed.
