While Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is known for his staunch opposition to the Wuhan virus lockdowns, he has gradually built a reputation as a budding immigration patriot. According to a report by Brandon Walters at Texas Scorecard, DeSantis is pushing the envelope by criticizing Texas Governor Greg Abbott for his refusal to send illegal aliens back to Mexico.(Snip)“They let them come across and then you give them to the feds, and the feds just release them anyways,” DeSantis declared, per a report from Florida Politics. “What they need to do, Texas, is Texas should just send them back across the border.” “Who cares what the feds are saying?

The state cannot deport them from the U.S. The ACLU will file suit before an Obama or Biden appointed judge who will order the state to find everyone they deported, bring them back, and pay them millions of dollars for their troubles.

They should do what the Dems do - just do it. They should do their best to stop them from coming across the border. Send the ones who make it back across the border.

Agree with DeSantis. Who cares what the ACLU or liberal judges thinks? At least get rid of some of them while the government is trying to figure out what to do.

Texas has a large Mexican population. Florida doesn't. Big difference.

I'm afraid kennedylaw has it right. I believe Abbott DID send them back at first. His alternative plan was to ship the problem to Biden's backyard.

Better to beg for forgiveness than to ask any Democrats for permission - send them to Mongolia, one way and let them find a way home!

The kind folks at Texas Scorecard have their own agenda and it is "Anyone but Abbott, ALL THE TIME". Some of those whom they give media cover to have issues of their own forgotten as long as they dance to the fiddle of Texas Scorecard and their ploy to tag some as NOT being "True Texans".
They seek to take over the party from within by running candidates who will buck the system of government to do their bidding. They supported most all of Governor Abbott's primary opponents for the Gubernatorial nomination, especially Don Huffines and Lt. Col Allen B. West (who as Chairman of the Texas GOP campaigned for Governor on their dime) and both were roundly defeated only getting about 10-12% of the primary vote each.
If there are criminals who have violated Texas Law they are remanded to one of Texas' prisons. The others go to the custody of the Border Patrol.
Texas Scorecard should only be one source of material from many reporting on Texas politics because they want to carve out their own special mafia of representatives in government while at the same time claiming they are anti-Rino establishment-- even taking out those in THEIR OWN PARTY to replace them with those owing allegiance to them.
In many runoff races, they promoted rigged surveys promoting their own candidates even when many of the statements and claims were outright lies preying upon the less informed voters so when the opponent attempted to correct the information, they were made to look guilty for attempting to get the record of facts straight.

#1 - So? How many battalions does the court have? Wouldn't it be great political theatre to see the Border Patrol or 101st Airborne standing along the Rio Grande confronting the Texas DPS preventing their return? (I'd settle for Abbott "standing" in the way of a caravan with his law enforcement officers.) But, Abbott is sending them to Washington...where they are farmed out to places like Maryland, which welcomes the invaders. (All Hat Abbott thanks his lucky stars for Beto every night.)

@9 Illegals get a card to come back to court and they don't pay attention, knowing if they had an appointment it would be 10 years down the road. Abbott should have the same attitude. The border situation - who would have thought it would get so bad. It all goes back to Fat Ted Kennedy in the 80's and then the pubbie presidents who didn't have the guts to close the border and keep it closed. They were too dependent on $$ from the Chamber of Commerce.

Texas could plant their state militia on the border with orders to repel all invaders using all means necessary, including deadly force. And print up some signs in Spanish, English and Ukrainian just inside the line with a standard 'death to proceed further' message (and some international symbols showing the same). The States are expressly allowed to defend their borders from invaders.

Texas has every legal right to protects its sovereignty. Abbott should deport every illegal, and prevent them from entering the state. DC has no authority over Texas soil.

Gov. Abbott can declare his border is under invasion. Having done so he can mobilize his state guard and enter into an agreement with any other state to to provide troops. Read article 1 section 1 last paragraph.

DeSantis is right. Abbott could be doing a lot more to stop these illegals from crossing into his state. The large group cross at certain locations. Bring in boats and your nation guard so you can funnel them to one area and as they come across you put them all in the boat and then dump them all back on the other side. As for the feds, screw them and Biden. When have they ever enforced the law. Remember, there is an immigration police and not one of these people are following that policy. Right now we have an invasion and we have to prevent that invasion. Get it yet.

Its easy to criticize when you don't have a border of your own. Of course the left loves to talk it up whenever a red state governor says anything critical of a colleague.

#4 - You must not be in Texas, nor pay attention to the political situation in the Rio Grande Valley. Americans of Mexican heritage there are not supporters of this invasion.

Thank you to the BEST of the red state Governors in the USA. This good man has laid out several times things Abbott could do.
Colonel Allen West laid out the same and quoted right from the Texas Constitution during four debates what a Governor has not only the right but the responsibility to do in case of border incursion or invasion. West spent time in border towns and talked on camera to Mayors who agreed totally. They voiced their disgust at the lack of attention and support from Abbott’s office. Retired long time BP agents supported West because they too knew what COULD be done and was not being done.
God bless you Govenor DeSantis for boldly speaking out. MAGA Texans surely appreciate it!!

100% right. Except for the part about the feds not doing their jobs; they're allowing and even encouraging it in order to destroy the republic, and game-playing showboaters like the Texas governor are helping it along.
