How Ron DeSantis Could Out-Trump Trump
All the Way to the White House

Original Article

His every utterance seems calculated to send progressives into a frenzy. He's one of the most prolific political fundraisers in America. His endorsements of other like-minded America First conservative candidates help those beneficiaries pull ahead in crowded primaries. And the worst-kept secret in American politics is that he wants to swap out his Sunshine State address for 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as soon as possible. No, the politician is not Donald Trump but rather Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who lately seems bent on executing just about every page of the former president's political playbook—only with a sunnier demeanor, less offensive language and fewer of the personal antics that make Trump so polarizing.

Comments:

We badly need to win in 2024, and I don't think Trump gives us the best chance to do so. He can't put 2020 behind him, and he is hell bent on carrying out vendettas, even if it means helping the other side (e.g. he thinks Abrams is OK in GA). Yes, he was screwed, but other than tightening up voting processes voters want to hear about plans to fix all the problems created by Biden. Keep in mind that Trump doesn't poll as well as Desantis with independents and women. And, Trump is so hated by the other side that he will energize them like nobody else can. I hope he checks his ego at the door and puts the conservative movement and the country first, and decides not to run. Desantis is Trump without the sharp edges, and abrasive language. He is not afraid to challenge the left, but he is smarter than Trump in how he does it. Winning has to be foremost in our minds. The country is gone if we lose in 2024.

I didn't mind Trump's demeanor at all and enjoyed his forthright manner and humor, but he failed to get a lot of things done, including addressing obvious problems in our voting systems that should have been addressed as a matter of national security on day 1 of his administration. He also failed to "lock her up," didn't shut down a single Agency, did nothing about undoing birthright citizenship, and any number of other things that needed to be bulled through. And look how quickly all of his gains were undone and then some by the puppetmaster who was allowed to steal the 2020 election, as many foresaw would happen. We need a doer, not a talker, and yes this includes bulldozing the GOP arm of the Democrat Party to get things done.

Attempting to sow division within the GOP ranks, eh Steve?? Sorry, it won't work. A more interesting question is WHO among the Democrat ranks will be jumping at the chance to Primary Jose Bidet? Perhaps his own VP? Perhaps Joe Manchin?

DeSantis is my guy this time around! He won't spend the entire campaign whining about the last election. Yes, by all means fix the electoral process...after you win the White House! How will you cut fuel costs, ease inflation, put people back into the workforce, clear out the swamp in DC? THAT is what really needs to be talked about! The democRATs have no answers to any of these problems and THAT must be a clear distinction made by the Republican party and the bad guys!

No president in my life time accomplished as much as President Trump before during and after his first term.. Save for the American people the entire world was at his throat. Some posters here and else where snipe at tweets bad staffing and the ever present accusations of treason corruption and malfeasance...all lies. Trump has proven his strength and taken the slashing lies from friend and foe alike and won. Not facing down the clearly stolen corrupt 2020 election and making the facts known will give carte blanche to the democrats next time around. The fight we are facing demands Trumps power strength and courage to take the fight daily to the debauched evil destroying our nation.

#2 Sorry bud, but Trump is still in this game. If you ever read the Q posts, you would know. Trump promised to drain the swamp. It's starting to drain. Sorry it wasn't on your timeline. Wait until you here the whole story when this is over. Since 2016 (and some say earlier) a plan was created and implemented. It's all going to happen. Trump is in control. Please do your part. #4 DiSantis respects being in a subordinate position. I love all these people who are trying to split everyone up. Just think when Trump started Space Force it wasn't just for outer space but add to that Cyber Space. Trump recorded it all from everyone. Trump has it all. All of the emails, texts, Instagram, telephone calls, and many other communications. Just watch this stuff drip out faster and faster. Remember Trump said, the Storm is coming. :)

It kills me to agree, but I have to. President Trump stepped on his tongue so many times that was so unnecessary if he’d not been so egotistical. I love him but we have to win this election. Don’t think for a moment though that a President DeSantis won’t be fought tooth and nail and backstabbed just like President Trump was. But I think DeSantis may be a bit more knowledgeable of the machine in DC.

Poster 2- I don’t where u spent 4 years of Trump’s presidency but he got more done in 4 years than any president in history. This was despite the daily barrage from the left and the media. He was under constant fire for 3 years under the fake Russian collusion hoax. It was outright espionage and the death penalty should imposed for the participants. He allowed capitalism to flourish and took the heavy boot of gov’t off the necks of the people. He has proven himself under fire like no other president has ever done. Truly a man of the people.

If America is to survive, election skuldugery needs to be addressed and eradicated first. I believe that President Trump and Governor DeSantis are working together along with other like minded American Patriots, statesmen and the military to move America from critical condition to recovery as a republic. There is more to all of what is happening in America than meets the eye. We see through a glass darkly. I'm order to win this war Americans need to be shaken from their stupor from the bottom up. We are seeing that in small towns, villages and cities across this once great nation. In small ways we are taking back our schools, churches, culture and history. It takes time. It takes skill. It takes a plan. It takes strong leadership. President Trump and others know that to win this war they need a giant army of informed and passionate American citizenry behind them. President Trump has a vision as do those he is working with. We will lose many battles and it will be a very long war. We will win the war America. President Trump has always said.... America First He will always put the good of America and American Patriots ahead of his own desires. Fear not my fellow Americans. If God Almighty, President Trump and American Patriots are for us, who can be against us? Forward into battle!

Why would the Deep State allow the outcome of a DeSantis presidency to be any different from Trump? No Republican to the right of a Liz Cheney or a Mitt Romney has a chance of getting anything done in the swamp owned and run by the demorats and the media. DeSantis is doing more as governor of Florida than he would ever do as President.

Whole lotta people wanna hand over what Trump built, uphill, into the wind, with no help from identifiable republicans. Mostly members of the swamp, who have found someone they might be able to control because they have no pull with team trump. Desantis has been a successful governor following Trumps lead. Does he know how to rebuild an economy? Does he recognize that to turn this back, he too needs to fight the Republican establishment? Can he draw 20000 to a plane hanger in southern Illinois? More wishful thinking by disenfranchised party hacks who don’t like standing in line for the free shrimp at the party functions with those obnoxious limited government gun loving church going Trump supporters. DeSantis is one of several people for the Republican bench. Give him a cabinet position.

I like DeSantis very much but he is still very young. Anyone other than who they want will be brutalized in the same way Trump was. I am not saying that DeSantis would cave to them but, he has a young family and the pressure would be immense. If he ran as Trump's VP he would be less of a target and learn at the feet of The Master. We all said that no one else would have withstood the constant, constant, barrage of lies and attacks the Trump did. Every single day of his presidency, and yet he did more for the country than any other president in our lifetime. With DeSantis along side, he might temper Trump a bit gaining experience on the national scene along the way. Then be ready to take the lead in 2028. After what were are experiencing now, I cannot believe that anyone would shun Trump because of an errant "Tweet" here or there. We NEED the Bull in the China shop back now more than ever. They are still conniving to prevent Trumps return by any means necessary. They continue because they know that they cannot defeat him any other way. They know that the Green agenda that we are living today will be the first thing to go, setting back their Great Reset at least another for years. With DeSantis up to bat when Trump leaves we will be good for the next twelve years.

To 6, 7, 8, and 11: Your not addressing the issue that I raised - whether Trump gives us the best chance of winning in 2024. Nobody is questioning the job Trump did on a number of fronts. I voted for him twice and loved his policies. But, for the reasons I presented in my comments, I don't think he is our best chance to win, when compared to Desantis. In addition to what I've already presented above, consider a couple more factors that are sure to occur if Trump is the nominee, and think about how the below issues would go over with voters beyond our base. We need a lot of these voters to win. - You can bet that the DA in NY will bring "criminal" charges against. Valid or not these charges will tie Trump up in criminal court during the election. - You can also bet that the Congressional 6 Jan Committee will refer criminal charges on Trump to the Biden's Justice Department. The Justice Department will then bring criminal charges if Trump becomes the nominee. - The media will be all over the criminal charges. In addition, they will bate Trump into arguments about the 2020 election, and Trump will take the bate every time. Desantis does not come with these problems. Most who objectively consider all I've presented will agree that Trump isn't our best bet to win. If he turns out to be the nominee despite the issues I've raised, I will vote for him and cross my fingers.

# 18 I have objectively considered all you've presented a came away with how it is all a rehash of the 5 years President Trump went through and now is all being brought out in the sun light as filthy corrupt lies. I will not list the sewer full of charges from taxes to sexual lies but Trump fought through it all and WON. The fight we are facing will be earth shattering and require the common woman and man to gird for it. With President Trump at the lead we will win back America.

I have been insisting, all along, that President Trump is running interference for Ron DeSantis for 2024. While the venom is focused on Trump, the left/MSM/swamp is petrified of Trump 2024. My guess is that the family will be happy if he finds a "medical reason" not to run and turns the mantle over to DeSantis. Either way, America wins.

This is News-weak's attempt to split the Republicans. News-weak is a lie-beral rag sheet. They fear Donald Trump coming back with a vengeance in 2024!!!! And you can't blame them. He will!!!! DeSantis is a great governor. He will be a great president one day. But that day is not in 2024!!!! If he goes against Trump and somehow wins the primaries, a whole lot of Trump supporters (who are conservatives, not Republicans) will not support him in the general election. He can't win without Trump supporters. Period!!! DeSantis is a very smart man and knows that!!! He will be Donald Trump's biggest cheer leader in 2024, and Trump will repay the favor (along with a lot of $$$ to help his campaign) in 2028!!!!!

I live in Florida and voted for DeSantis! He's a great Governor, we would hate to lose him! That said, I personally think that Trump and DeSantis are joined at the hip! I think THEY know exactly what they will do and Both are doing what they need to do to Rally the Voters. Trump is all over holding Rallies and bringing 20,000 or more Voters to see him! He's building! At the same time he's been endorsing Republicans all over the Country and most of them have won! Gov. DeSantis is doing his part by staying in the News. Everyone has taken notice at what a Great Governor is and YES, he would be a great President! I think most likely, Trump will run and DeSantis will be his VP! They would be unbeatable! JMHO!

I like DeSantis a LOT. But I actually don't mind Trump's, what they call, antics. It's like Patton, he did weird stuff sometimes, but dammit he was a fantastic war leader, and putting up with a bit of weirdness is way, way worth the benefit of having a Patton or a Trump on your team and leading. DeSantis will eventually be President, I have no doubt, but not in 2024, we need Trump then, now fire hardened and raring to clean out the Augean Stables.

Kudos to #18 #25. As a Floridian I will be torn when the primary comes along. Simply put DJT deserves his chance at redemption and Ron needs one more term as Governor and he’ll be ready and would win in ‘28. However.....the deep state and republicans will again stand in his way and take him out anyway they can. Why would they ‘allow’ a revengeful DJT to return to power? The probability of voter fraud again is guaranteed. My best hope is a DJT/RON ticket and a DJT pledge to serve until 80 and then turn it over to Ron. Even if they lose Ron would continue as Governor until ‘26.

That's enough of the comments saying "Trump can't get over 2020." You spineless cucks. From the time that Donald Trump came down the golden elevator at Trump Tower in NYC, the Left has been in a coordinated seek-and-destroy mission for Trump. There was "Russia, Russia," followed by Impeachment I and II. All kinds of investigations, from Mueller, to the NY AG. All bogus. There is NO CONSERVATIVE and NO REPUBLICAN who could have withstood the coordinated attack of the DNC, Deep State, Never Trumpers, the LeftMedia, treasonous Executive Branch employees, a corrupt Pentagon, FBI, DOH. and CDC. Trump invented MAGA, and who are you to challenge him?

I had dinner with a couple of relatives last week who enveloped into nincompoops. They believe that the 2020 election was stolen. They also believe it was Trump's tweets that caused him to lose the presidency even though he received many, many more votes than in 2016. Which is it? The powers that be were hell bent on subverting the election because Trump was too dangerous for them and great for the America. Trump is still # 1 and Ron DeSantis has become an avid pupil. His success in Florida is because he learned to fight back from President Trump. If you have noticed, Elon Musk is having much fun channeling Trump and causing the liberal heads to explode. Biden is destroying America as fast as Nazis on meth, and some of you still have your knickers in a twist over Trump's "sharp edges" and "abrasive language." And thank God for his sharp edges and his abrasive language, because that's what it took to win. Or would you rather cling to that kinder and gentler losing strategy? First of all I resent being called part of a cult. Most conservatives by their very nature are not cultists. We are independent thinkers not prone to follow the crowd. President Trump has EARNED my support. My focus is on what he has accomplished for this country and what he is further driven to achieve and make right for the country and its people. We deserve a leader with a mindset like his and they a few and far between. His strongest characteristic is that he fights back. He won’t stand in the corner and allow the left to pummel him unmercifully. You cannot defeat the left if you don’t give as good as you get. They have tried everything in their power to destroy him and they are still at it. Yet, here he stands before a lawless party whose motto should be death to America ready to fight for this country and its people again. My take is Trump runs in 2024 and wins with DeSantis as his VP. The psychological blow to democrats would be massive. It would be a total repudiation of their agenda and political philosophy. It won’t be easy but the relief and hope that would permeate this nation would be palpable. The light would return to the city on the hill and the people would recognize that they can breathe again and look toward a better future. I honestly believe that can happen but if Republicans can’t see it and decide to split, it is going to be a disaster. Democrats have declared war and we need a general who will not shrink from battle. It is foolish to believe they will not attack anyone who opposes them just like they have attacked PDT. They consider this a blood sport and viable political strategy and will not give an inch. They have never wanted to defeat Trump, they want to destroy him because he has shown he has the power to defeat and destroy their agenda. Why in the world would you bench the guy that has a proven record of putting America first? As far as PDT’s demeanor and personality goes, I find it astonishing that his behavior is abhorrent to you. Yet, Democrats are lawless cheats who will do or say anything to win especially now when they are so close to reaching their goal. I also don’t hear criticism of their racist and violent rhetoric. Trump has never said anything close to the profane outbursts coming from the left. The fact that some of you are offended by a robust and vigorous defense of this country delivered in straight forward no nonsense manner indicates to me that you do not understand the enemy that has illegally gained control of this country. Their intentions are evil and nothing will be withheld in their quest to retain power. One thing is for certain, they will not be defeated by a politician but by a righteous warrior, battle hardened with a like minded warrior at his side. Trump/DeSantis 2024 because the fight is real, righteous, and worthy.

I don't think DeSantis has any interest at all in being on the 2024 national ticket, and that is good for him and us. He has a very young family and plenty of work left to do here in FL. And let us also keep in mind his wife's health situation. She has been found to be "cancer free" and that is wonderful news, but cancer - as many here well know - is a cunning and treacherous foe. Mrs. D. might want to stay close to her oncology team here in FL. DeSantis as Trump's running mate? Bad idea, and I'm sure he knows that. He would be wasted in the vice presidency, and if Trump were to crash & burn in a second term (a real possibility few here seem to have considered) the governor would be branded as a loser and permanently tarnished by his association with Trump. We need to stop looking at this as an either/or proposition and start encouraging other talented people to get into the game. Mike Pompeo and Tom Cotton come to mind.

In 2020, half the country hated Trump and voted against him rather than for Biden. By 2024 it will be more than half the country opposed to Trump, and the hatred will have soured to loathing as he has become more vindictive and more clearly about himself rather than the good of the country. (Thank you, Donald, for Senator Oz, for instance.) DeSantis has all of Trump's strengths and none of his weaknesses. Above all, we need to win. DeSantis will win.

If not Trump, then De Santis. Either way the country's in better shape. Trump will certainly have vendettas if elected but is that a bad thing considering the outright corruption in D.C. Cleaning house is far overdue, and there are plenty of people in government who need to be in jail for one thing or another. As for the independents and women, these are the people that have given us Obozo, Clinton, and Biteme. they've proven more than once they haven't clue and are plainly not paying attention. Either way, even the clueless independents and women have seen enough of the demoslut agenda over the last year and a half to get it through their thick skulls that voting demoslut is not good for anyone.

OP & #18, if by Trump not running in 2024 you think you are going to avoid all the negatives you have outlined and their impacts you are being deluded. ALL of those things will happen anyway. But we will not have Trump to lead us against the illegality, fraud and theft. DeSantis is a great guy but he is NOT the best to lead against what will be thrown at us in '24. His time is later. Sheathing your most powerful weapon, which is the memory of the Trump economy, out of fear of what the other side will think or do is cowardice. which never wins.

Anybody who has been following Trumps comments over the past year know that he hasn't been able to get over 2020, and I haven't seen any evidence that he will going forward. # 34 and 35: The Dems wouldn't be able to flip Florida is Desantis leaves. There are more registered Republicans in Florida now - Florida has registered tons of Republicans in recent years. Trumps "sharp edges" and "abrasive language" doesn't bother me and others in the conservative base. The problem is that many other voters (mainly independence and women) are turned off by his "sharp edges" and "abrasive language." We can't win with just the conservative base - we need all the independents and women we can get. Winning in 2024 is my top priority, and hopefully it is the top priority of many others as well.

All the yacking about women and college educated people being turned off by Trump's harsh comments is laughable. So --- you think that if Trump runs again, the women will vote for the party that drove up gas prices and drove off baby formula? My opinion is that if Trump doesn't run, and we are encouraged to dust ourselves off from losing the 2020 battle and look to the future ---- the Dems and Media (but I repeat myself - Chris Plante) - will consider all their cheating and impeachments and weaponizing govt bureaus and fake news -- to have been justified. Remember -- they're the Harry "Well, we won, didn't we?" Party. There's a reason the writer spent 90% of his article creating then highlighting so-called division between the two....and only mentioning a Trump/DeSantis ticket at the end: He knows it's powerful. He also promoted a common deception that the Prez and VP cannot come from the same state. Do your research! It's not true. Just like his casual statement that DeSantis turned around and told the students to take their masks off. He did not. He told them to feel FREE to take their masks off if they wanted to. Beware of the Left's deception. They shoved God out and sold their soul to the devil - the master of all lies and deceit.

You'll never get me to desert President Trump...no matter how many of you think it can be done...WE the people love him and will never give him up...DeSantis can run as Vice President and then take over when President Trump is finished in 2028...but you never Trumpers can peddle your narrative elsewhere...WE are with President Trump all the way to the White House...

Newsweak - not a reliable source. Trump is solidly pro-life and any country that is solidly pro-life (ours isn't) will be blessed. I expect same for candidates. DeSantis holds back a little on the pro-life issue.

This article is part of McConnell's "splitter" strategy. Don't be sucked in or manipulated. Let us not forget that DeSantis was losing to despicable ANDREW GILLIAM by 3 pts before Donald pulled him out of the fire. We want DeSantis for governor for sure. Keep that as the focus. And remember being nice will get you NOWHERE with a communist. WE HAVE VERY HARD AND TOUGH DECISIONS AHEAD AND DONALD IS THE ONLY MAN TO GET US THROUGH. He is the ONLY man who can take the communists HEAD ON. In this world now, if you are liked because you are polite YOU ARE NOT GETTING THE JOB DONE. Donald SURVIVED AND GOT A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT DONE. There is no one like him. Genius.

Some people aren't nearly as clever as they think they are. To think there are any rules of behavior that can bypass the constant attack by the media for anyone with common sense or love of traditional America, is childish. To think that Ron Desantis won't be attacked just as much or more is silly. No theory, no argument pro or con matters if the ballot box is open to rat stuffing.

Late to the party, maybe someone will read this. I really, really like DeSantis...in '28 and '32...and not as VP in '24 either. He needs to stay in Florida and kick a$$ thru his 2nd term, get more seasoning, show what winning at the state level can do. He is still very young, won't be 50 until just before the '28 election. He can come fully onto the national stage in early '27 and run then if that is his and his family's choice. I want the Trump Revenge Tour '24 - tickets available online early next year - in all its blazing fire and brimstone glory. I want him to smite those who stole the '20 election and our republic, the rule of law, and our innate American goodness. I want even meaner tweets and smash-mouth attacks on the communists intrenched throughout various levels of government, business, and academia. Take no prisoners. His should choose a VP with no presidential ambitions, just a right-hand-man gunslinger to go into the fight with him. I understand the political calculus of those wanting him to not run and put '20 behind him, but...I want the MAGA King with the sword of Excalibur in his hands, taking off heads with each back and forth swing.

# 54, I agree with you completely about Ron DeSantis, but don't believe that Trump II would be anything like you imagine. For one thing Trump could lose the 2024 general election, even without massive cheating. He won't be running against Biden or any of the usual suspects, but some fresh face who will pose as a "moderate" and offer voters the illusion of a break with the past. And even if an aging Trump were to get past that, the Deep State (more entrenched than ever) would be primed, ready and waiting for him. No glorious movie ending is likely.

I understand completely the thinking by Ford man, that Trump the Return is no sure thing and the vitriol against him will be off the charts...any Republican actually. We need someone who will stand in the breach, give no quarter, reach across no aisles, faint of heart be damned, and I don't see another puncher out there among other Republicans other than DeSantis...and I want him in '28 and '32. It may/is political fantasy on my part, but I want a gladiator in the lion's den and for the gladiator to win...YUGELY.

President Joe Biden is on the verge of announcing $10,000 in federal student loan forgiveness per borrower for millions of Americans, according to The Washington Post. "The White House's latest plans called for limiting debt forgiveness to Americans who earned less than $150,000 in the previous year, or less than $300,000 for married couples filing jointly," write Post reporters Tyler Pager, Danielle Douglas-Gabriel, and Jeff Stein. Their sources did not say "whether the administration will simultaneously require interest and payments to resume at the end of August, when the current pause is scheduled to lapse."

As the nation looks for ways to cut fossil fuel emissions to meet ambitious carbon reduction goals, natural gas, that common household fuel staple loved by cooks, is feeling the heat. So far, 77 cities and towns and Washington state have banned or discouraged new natural gas hookups. Los Angeles became the latest to join the list when its City Council voted last week to rewrite building codes requiring new homes and buildings achieve zero-carbon emissions – effectively eliminating future natural gas lines. Climate change experts say the shift is a necessary part of the nation's energy transformation. About half of

The Democrat Party spends so much time insisting on our differences that even people who used to enjoy this garbage are having enough of it. Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Friday blasted President Joe Biden and his administration for having created the record-high inflation and gas prices across the United States. Jordan told Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Company” that he was not as surprised as Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she was that inflation followed the “crazy” spending, paying people not to work and doing away with energy independence. He suggested it was “intentional” by the White House. “As you know and your viewers know, inflation is the worst tax possible on American families,” Jordan lamented. “So, this is real.
