Ukraine reports that it has killed about 26,000 invading Russian soldiers. Ukraine’s reports of Russian losses – unlike Russia’s own reports – have been fairly reliable, say observers, though NATO estimates a somewhat lower number. As for Ukraine’s own dead, they appear to be significantly fewer than Russia’s even after including the civilians that Russia has murdered.
Ukraine’s figures are not inconsistent with a report from the U.K. that over one-fourth of Russia’s 150,000-man army attacking Ukraine, amounting to perhaps 40,000, has been rendered “combat ineffective.” That means they’re dead or wounded badly enough that they can’t fight.
I doubt if any of these numbers are correct or even close.

When you're a soldier whose gov't pretends to pay you, the logical thing is to pretend to work.

I doubt EVERYTHING I read/hear about this situation. Ukraine seems to be getting their money's worth out of the access they bought via payoffs to Hunter and The Big Guy. Will the truth ever come out? Doubtful.

They want the public to believe that fighting Russia will be easy. but they will not be sending their sons and daughters only yours.

Reply #3: If you "doubt everything you read/hear about this situation" then you must believe nothing at all about it. So why do you even bother to read about it if you've already decided not to believe what you read?
I think what you're really saying is that you "doubt everything you read/hear about this situation" to the extent -- and only to the extent -- it is contrary to your preconceived notions and narratives.

I heard back from one of my elderly scientist friends in Odessa. She and her family are OK, so far, and one son is in the territorial guard, and his family has made it to Hungary to wait out the war.
She is optimistic that Ukraine will eventually win, but saddened at all the people being killed unnecessarily.
She asked me to visit after the war it over. I wonder if that will be possible any time soon?
These numbers match what many foreign observers have reported pretty well.
And Germany is sending some self propelled howitzers, artillery that can drive to where it needs to be on tracks, but again, not a tank. Long range guns up to 20-22 miles with normal ammo, and with special long range shells, up to 29 miles. Very modern, capable artillery.

Poster 5, Russia and Ukraine lie. The Biden administration lies. That belief is based on substantial and credible evidence as opposed to preconceived notions and narratives.

Critical thinking - not being gullible about information -especially if it comes from unknown sources- is more important than ever. “Believing” is not a healthy state of mind.
I think we all like Glenn but where does he get these numbers? Do the suppliers of the numbers have an agenda?
And more important, even if they’re true and Russia is losing- what does that mean? Tactical nukes used by a desperate Putin? Regime change? And what are the implications that flow from that? No energy for europe? No fertilizer? Food shortages? The rah rah “let’s beat the Russians” drum may be a pyrrhic “victory”. This war seems to be a losing proposition for Americans no matter what the outcome. Biden and whoever pulls his strings seem to really really want a war. It seems to be a a dim tactic concerning the elections since everything they do concerns the elections.
So until someone shows me otherwise everything about this war screams injury to the American people. Even if bidet gets his way and gets regime change what is the guarantee we’ll like the new regime better. “Never underestimate Joe’s ability to f up everything he touches.”

the current whitehouse (P)resident...in order to have ANY thing positive to claim is leaking/proffering that it is HIM beating the Russians, shooting down their planes, sinking their ships, murdering their generals. Putin is being left in a position where his only available response is..."We are not fighting Ukraine peoples, we are fighting America, and ALL of America is now a target, anywhere on the globe, They sink our ships? We will sink theirs..They assassinate our Generals? We assassinate theirs".
Smarter would be...Clam UP clown!, let Ukraine do the work, take the hits, claim whatever credit there may be, minimize discussing whatever help we may be giving them , at least in the media. We have gone from the practical Plausible Deniability to the very risky Plausible Credit Claiming, and not as part of a grand strategy or global chess game, simply for a one day news cycle spin.
A cornered cat is bad enough...but a cornered Bear?
Push this too far and there will be an ultimately pointless but very real and deadly retaliation. They already know that no matter what they do there will be long term sanctions anyway and the will to solidify them beyond where they are today is weak at best. They have for sale the energy that Europe HAS to have, europe WILL go wobbly, Biden who jumped in front of a parade to pretend he was leading it...will glance over his shoulder to find he is now marching alone, and looking ridiculous.

Both sides use propaganda...one side is expert at it and swallows up poor little Glen! 36 Billion dollars worth of equipment being scheduled to be sent to Ukraine and a good deal of it is considered hand me downs that will required a whole lot of up keep! Vietnam era M-113 APC that is an aluminum bath tub that actually burns! 155 caliber cannons make with titanium which is strong and light but also becomes brittle after shock from recoil. Own and own it goes.

Putin is sick, and he is losing too many people & armament. Russia has been made to look weak. I believe he will do anything to win, incl. the use of tactical nukes. This could get really ugly.

I agree the numbers are hard to believe, 26K in in 2.5 months is crazy but then look what we do know. I have seen believable videos of hundreds of tanks, hundreds of other trucks some planes, a few ships and what 9-10 generals? If you lose 9 generals you know they are also losing a lot of troops. Also Russia had to withdraw from the north and now has not advanced much in south and east. Obviously they are getting the shellac kicked out of them otherwise they would advance. I tend to believe the 26K. I do think Biden needs to stop any talk of expanding NATO and should be working to calm the situation now enflame it.
