Pulitzer Prize and Peabody Award winning journalist Laurie Garrett gave a refreshingly honest and clear-eyed assessment of the usefulness of masks in fighting coronavirus pandemics. Unfortunately, her assessment, given as the Keynote Address at the National Academy of Medicine in December 2018, was given prior to the Covid-19 outbreak. Garrett, a Council of Foreign Relations member, spilled the beans in a presentation called “From the 1918 Influenza Pandemic to 2009 H1N1 Pandemic to Now: Is the World Ready to Respond to the Next Outbreak?”

We knew that was the case and didn't apply for the Pulitzer.

I never believed that a mask stopped transmission. It was obviously a fraud, and I have consistently disobeyed and ignored their damned, worthless, fascist mandates.
Masks stop virus in exactly the same way that a chain link fence stops mosquitoes.

The goverment tells us FIRST that we are all about to die, if we do not follow the government. Then the government forces us to wear masks. Wearing a mask is at eye-level, and each person we see everywhere is the eyes of another person like us, who is also vulnerable. Thus the fear factor is built into each every person who comes into view. We can find solace at church on Sunday, but going to church is against the law.

Right alongside you, #2. The N95 masks filtered particulates down to 300 nanometers, while the average covid virus was between 40-120 nanometers. The only difference between us is that I used a swarm of hornets instead of mosquitoes.

Many of the blacks in our area are STILL wearing masks,in stores, outside, in their cars( by themselves)... its crazy. Go to the doctor, wear a mask to go inside, they give you a paper mask to wear instead. And they smell funky- chemical smelling.

The first thing I did when this whole thing started was turn off the news. Remember all the commercials ‘We can do this together’ etc? I was already on oxygen 24/7 and cannot breathe so I was glared at and stared at because I would not wear a mask. I was thrown out of stores including an outside farmers market. The hysteria was ridiculous. I never thought I would see such submission in America. Guess all those propaganda commercials did their job.

#8, there does seem to be a sub-culture dynamic at work regarding mask wearing. In my area, the demographic is roughly 40/40/20 white/black/other. Most Caucasians/Asians in our area have ditched the mask for some time. Most blacks still wear them; even outdoors and in cars...on their own. I have my suspicions why. But I'll leave it at that.

#8 reminded me of that video going around the internet last year of those blue paper masks being manufactured somewhere in Asia. They were run through industrial sewing machines in long strips which piled up on the filthy floor where they were then picked up and cut into individual masks. And your doctor forces you to wear one.
I was at an outdoor program on birds of prey last week and there were two women in the group of about 15 who were wearing their face diapers outside on a breezy beautiful day. Leftist idiot sheep. I’ve only worn them in doctor offices since about June of 2020 and then only when forced to. Everywhere else - no.

Forgot to add - we should have seen this coming when thousands of people in Boston allowed the police to search their homes without warrants after the Marathon bombing. Fear made them abandon all of their rights.

Just last week I saw fraud Joe Biden wearing a black 'freak flag' on his face the same with Nancy Pelosi with her matching designer ones. It's an identifier of the left, their signal of their upper handedness or we are above the fray and better than you. All I can say is, "let your freak flag fly, chumps". FJB

I understood what the impact was, in wearing masks. It kept people aware of the Kung Flu, and helped to keep people apart.
If the little eyetalian Fauci had been honest about masks, life would have been better.

It worked. In the Bible death is referred to as the "king of terrors". Job 18:14. The believer has no fear of death, death takes us right into the presence of our Lord.

This was long a part of Soviet methodology: You get compliance from everyone on rules, regulations, laws, whatever, that make no sense. They obey because they are told to do so. This is a big step in control. Then you keep increasing the absurdity of the lies they must say they believe. For instance, there are 19 (or whatever number) "genders." That men menstruate. That you are sexually whatever you say you are i.e. women can have penises. And so on. Whacky, bizarre claims. When you get to the point that the people stop resisting and just say that they believe it all, you have complete totalitarian control. Solzhenitsyn described this process in detail.

And so what?
It doesn't matter the issue, fearporn is underlying every argument, from those claiming globalist government is injecting mind-control and tracking bots while culling the herd with its mRNA poison, to Government saying one is facing a horrible death and "killing grandma" if one goes without innoculation. Oh, and wear the mask.
Public opinion is mainly driven by female opinion. The propagandists have cracked the code, which includes opinion shapers and hive queens such as Oprah, Joy Behar, and a bevy of celebrities, and formed their efforts accordingly. One wonders what the comparative belief and compliance rates are between women and men. Karens were once everywhere. Today, not so much...mission accomplished. On to abortion and those poor Ukrainian children...something must be done.

At my last doctor's visit, the doctor wore a mask and I didn't. And there was no discussion on that. Looks like it's Big Corporation's rules, not doctor's rules.

What they don't tell you and WONT tell you is that you is that you can get it through your eyes. Masks were an easy sell. Goggles would never have been. A nation, a world, of people in goggles? Some needing prescription goggles, they knew that would never work so the real truth about transmission was was lied about. Worthless masks, a visual for fear and panic was the easy push.

Read, The Plague Upon Our House by Dr. Scott Atlas. His first meet with scarf lady (Birx) in the White House she was the only one wearing a mask. She said, didn't you see the beauty salon spread? An unscientific anecdotal example became the gold standard. Reading the book scarf lady was stupid but also she was extremely manipulative. And maybe 10% of the sheep still believe a piece of paper or cloth protects you from micron size particles.

I see a few people wear masks in the stores - mostly older people. There's one woman at church who wears one and sits way off from everyone else. I think she's odd. At work there are two maskers. One wears an N95 mask but she's had surgery and chemo so I give her a pass. The other one is still scared to death. I'd hate to be him.

I do fear people wearing masks. They are the government drone Karens of the world who believe that obeying their masters trumps individual freedom. I social distance from these freaks and the reasons have nothing to do with Covid.

The fact that the reporter was a Pulizer Prize winner and all that is irrelevant since she was basing her statement on a single Japanese study that looked at cloth masks. It has no bearing on current recommendations regarding masks, which say not to use cloth masks.
That wearing a mask signals danger to others is probably true, but that just supports the idea that social distancing probably works.

Masks quickly became a symbol of tribal affiliation, tribal dominance. Tribalism is one of man's very worst characteristics, and the left are exploiting it at every turn.
In fact, the less actual utility mask-wearing has, the better it is for the symbolism. If the leftist-maskers can MAKE you wear one, they "win"; they have exhibited their dominance. If masks worked, people might wear them anyway. But oh, if they DON'T work, and they MAKE you wear one? That's absolute demonstration of tribal power. I rejected wearing a mask as compelled political speech. It violates my 1st Amendment right
"The compelled speech doctrine sets out the principle that the government cannot force an individual or group to support certain expression. Thus, the First Amendment not only limits the government from punishing a person for his speech, it also prevents the government from punishing a person for refusing to articulate, advocate, or adhere to the government’s approved messages."
It's all about control.

#32 - In the first year of Covid we had a neighbor that washed her cash before paying her road dues. She was very proud to make the announcement to TK when she dropped by the house to pay. TK laughed and said, "I didn't know you were into money laundering!" She didn't get the joke. Sweet gal, around 40, and a great neighbor. She bought the BS; hook, line and sinker.
