Tim James wants folks to know he doesn’t care much for LGBTQ acceptance, which the Republican candidate for governor says is putting Alabama children in the “crosshairs of hell.” “I will show these people and what they’re doing to these little ones no mercy,” James said in a recent speech to the North Shelby County Republican Women. Of particular interest to James, and the biggest target of his ire, is the Magic City Acceptance Academy, which he calls “vile” and “evil.”

From past experience, Greek Organizations stage plays with males playing both male and female roles. There is a big difference between portraying a part - a role, and shoving your prefered lifestyle in other's faces, or using such roles to indoctrinate and groom children. A BIG difference.

High School? Really? Don't know anything about this guy, but what you do when you're a kid, unless you've murdered, raped, or were a habitual offender, shouldn't be counted against you as an adult.

Hmm. The former Democrat governor of Virginia and the foppish leader of Canada dressed up in blackface and it was no big deal. More hypocrisy.

The writer used to work for the BBC. He has a history of founding and also working for "alternative" media, at least two of which he has founded, have failed. When founding one of them, he said it would be after the pattern of The Daily Beast and Slate. The "alternative" publication failed. So --- when reading bogus, inflated leaps into "journalism" like this, Consider the Source.

al.com is liberal mess, there's a lengthy article on the site about the riots and over 650 arrests in Panama City because of spring breakers. Of course, they never mention that it was 'black' spring break whereas the week before they had a mostly white spring break with little trouble.

James does sound a little dim, but the photo of guys on his football team dressed as female does not somehow show hypocrisy. In those days and that place (my family was from Chattanooga) a guy dressing as a woman did *not* do it because he wished he were female and wanted to be respected for dressing that way all the time. Rather, it was considered ridiculously funny and, if anything, actually made fun of the practice of dressing in drag. If they had worn black face, would the AL.com writer have claimed they wanted to be black?

So as a high school student, he dressed as a cowboy but stood with others dressed in “drag” (this hardly qualifies) and he’s a hypocrite? See the twists and turns the liberal mind has to do? No wonder they crazy.

They play gotcha...we play gotcha...and, of course, when one gets caught it's a horselaugh moment. And so what do these guys always do? They dig deeper. Get indignant. Dismissive. Some combative. Anyone posting here could have come up with a better response to the "surprise" than James. Instead, he makes it bigger than it is. The reporter thanks him. That's not hypocrisy; it's stupidity.

Speaking of Forget the past, doomed to repeat it: In my 80 years I have seen several funny, community involved entertainment skits of what was quaintly called a Womanless Wedding way back in the 1940's. The last one I witnessed was in 1969 or 1970. Cute as all get-out and funny, to boot. Nowadays, we just cannot seem to LIGHTEN UP!

The U.S. Constitution is the sacred text of American government and civic life. But it’s time to face facts: The document, written in 1787, isn’t working. The signs are all around us. Just 38 percent of Americans in a recent Gallup poll expressed either a “great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the presidency, down from 48 percent in 2001. Congress, never high in the public’s estimation to begin with, fell from 26 percent to a mere 12 percent. The Supreme Court has also taken a hit, down from 50 percent to 36 percent during the same period.

The New York Times published an op-ed Friday that proposes eliminating belief in God — as one of the holiest weekends of the year begins. Titled “In This Time of War, I Propose We Give Up God,” the article claims that God is responsible for “war and violence” and for “oppression and suffering,” and suggests that people stop teaching children about Him. Author Shalom Auslander, who is disillusioned about his upbringing in a religious Jewish community in New York, argues (original emphasis): God, it seems, paints with a wide brush. He paints with a roller. In Egypt, said our rabbi, he even killed first-born cattle.

Except when it is. But that’s another story. Last Thursday, Joe Biden spoke to students and faculty at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro. It was boilerplate political stuff — blaming the supply chain problems on COVID-19, increased fuel prices on the Russians, and inflation wasn’t his fault. At the end of the speech, Biden’s eyes became a little glassy and he turned around slowly and extended his hand. Except there was no one there.
