The Constitution isn't working

Original Article

The U.S. Constitution is the sacred text of American government and civic life. But it’s time to face facts: The document, written in 1787, isn’t working. The signs are all around us. Just 38 percent of Americans in a recent Gallup poll expressed either a “great deal” or “quite a lot” of confidence in the presidency, down from 48 percent in 2001. Congress, never high in the public’s estimation to begin with, fell from 26 percent to a mere 12 percent. The Supreme Court has also taken a hit, down from 50 percent to 36 percent during the same period.

This is from the "Hill". About the same as the Atlantic or Nation or some other leftist rag. Adams said (paraphrased), the Constitution will only work for a moral or just people. If the people had any morals, or were "just" in their thinking, the Constitution will work as it has in the past and will in the future. If the people are perverted it won't. For me, I'll take the Constitution any day as our foundation of government over any other form. The Constitution has not failed, we have failed it. Fix'd if for ya, John boy.

Eye opening account of the ''new sort'' of elected legislator; one who seeks fame and fortune instead of a better form of government. I always thought that about any random Democrat you could name only now the infestation is in both sides of the aisle. Not only are politics ''strange bedfellows'' but politics is a dirty, filthy business. Why would you seek public office when it is much easier to rob banks?

Our laws were based on a country with God fearing people having a moral compass to do the right thing for all. Now we are under control of people who have no moral compass and are doing their own thing just for themselves. Until we get a majority government thoroughly vetted to follow the laws as written, we will continue to see abuses of the constitution. Is it worth fighting for and how far will we go to ensure it’s survival? America needs to make a choice.

He is right. The Constitution doesn't work. It failed to work in 1861 and has continued to this day. Largely because goobernment ignores the constitution. Lincoln had no constitutional authority to start a war. The states were not rebelling. They simple left the US. The South never threatened the goobernment or even protested the goobernment. It simple left and Lincoln started an unconstitutional war. FDR used the courts and super majority to create the welfare state, (Socialist Security) buearcratic control of private property (fascism) and denial of human rights and due process (Americans of Japanese decent placed in concentration camps). The whole time the checks and balances were flushed down the toilet. Then came the Supreme Joke that decided it and it alone could legislate from the bench and create laws and rights not mentioned in the constitution. Congess found it it was more profitable to make money while in Congress than actually work. We need a Convention of States to reign in the all three branches of goobernment. Only we the people can prevent goobernment from Shiffing on the constitution.

I was playing poker the other day and, well, the rules of the game were just not working for me. We need to throw out this business about straights and flushes and full houses because that unfairly rewards certain players' hands. In my opinion, a 3 of hearts, 8 of clubs, 9 of diamonds, Jack of hearts and 7 of spades should be the highest hand.

On March 18, 2022, Francis declared before an audience that “A war is always—always!—the defeat of humanity, always. We, the educated, who work in education, are defeated by this war, because on another side we are responsible.” So far, all well and good, if only because such lofty but impotent words are expected. But then Francis went so far as to say, “There is no such thing as a just war: they do not exist!” That is a remarkably dangerous claim, of similar naïve thinkers—
