LA County votes to suspend official travel
to Florida, Texas over parental rights,
transgender laws

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors (BOS) on Tuesday approved a motion suspending official travel to Florida and Texas over the southern states' legislation regarding parental rights and transgender minors. Critics have depicted recent orders from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Don DeSantis as harmful to LGBTQ inclusiveness and safety. The LA County BOS responded to the legislation by voting to "suspend all travel to the States of Texas and Florida for the conduct of County business unless the Chief Executive Officer determines that the failure to authorize such travel would seriously harm the County’s interests."

Yeeeee Hah!!! We Floridians love to hear that the flood of west coast liberalism could be slowing and possibly coming to an end. The liberals never saw through one of the reasons such a bill was passed. It was passed not only for its face value but also to intentionally make Florida unappealing for west coast liberal migration to the state. This Floridian is glad the plan is possibly working! Can’t wait to see what more bad tasting bills for liberals the governor has in store!!!

Far too many of those leaving the hellhole behind are bringing their liberal mindset with them. They flee because they don't like where they live and then proceed to try to remake their new state into the hellhole they just fled. Kinda reminds me of the flood of Muslims into new digs. They can't wait to turn their new place into their old place. If those fleeing California integrated into their new communities and left their destructive politics behind life could be sweeter for all of us.

How big could the Red Tsunami in the House
get this year?

Last week Cook Political Report posted an analysis of the House midterm election which said “Both sides see the possibility of a Red Tsunami in 2022.” But the rest of the Cook piece argued that because of redistricting changes 2022 can’t possibly equal a tsunami like the one in 1994 when Republicans won 54 seats. There are simply not as many competitive seats in the House as there used to be. So the author ultimately predicted a more modest wave: Every metric we use to analyze the political environment — the president’s approval rating, the mood of the electorate, the enthusiasm gap — all point to huge gains

On Thursday, NATO held an emergency meeting about Russia’s increasingly horrific and atrocity-filled invasion of Ukraine. However, unlike most NATO meetings, this one was substantive. For starters, the attendees were not only NATO nations; there were also observers present: the European Union, Sweden, Finland, Georgia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Ukraine. If Putin was afraid of being surrounded before, he should take a quick look at his map now (just a reminder that Japan and Russia still have an unresolved border dispute, see Russia conducts military exercises in disputed islands).  As if to validate the stereotype of the Germans being

Scott has been writing about the strange case of the two men “of Washington, D.C.” who are under arrest, having purported to be high-level Department of Homeland Security agents. The men are Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali, which might give the politically incorrect some ideas. News reports indicate that they “compromised” four Secret Service agents, although my understanding is that this simply means that those agents accepted gifts from them. Somehow, Taherzadeh and Ali had plenty of money to throw around. The case took a small step forward today with the filing of a motion to hold the men in federal custody as flight risks. The motion begins:
