How big could the Red Tsunami in the House
get this year?

Original Article

Last week Cook Political Report posted an analysis of the House midterm election which said “Both sides see the possibility of a Red Tsunami in 2022.” But the rest of the Cook piece argued that because of redistricting changes 2022 can’t possibly equal a tsunami like the one in 1994 when Republicans won 54 seats. There are simply not as many competitive seats in the House as there used to be. So the author ultimately predicted a more modest wave: Every metric we use to analyze the political environment — the president’s approval rating, the mood of the electorate, the enthusiasm gap — all point to huge gains

I wouldn't count on it. They failed to factor in the blatant election theft by the democrats, and the complete unwillingness of the republicans to do anything about it. Too many traitors like Romney and Murkowski have a financial or ideological interest in making the steal happen.

I believe a 30-40 seat switch, enough to kill anything the vegetable-in-chief wants to do but enough to start some meaningful investigations. I think they'll be a few big surprises also.

In 1994, no one in the media predicted that the Republicans would even win control of the House, let alone by a nationwide landslide. I will never forget how shell shocked all of the network anchors looked as they reported election returns into the night. Eventually, they all settled on calling it a temper tantrum by voters. How dare the peasants turn on their Democrat betters? It was hilarious, like the 2016 election, but before the internet.

It is clear RINOs must not be allowed to win primaries. Because if RINOs are part of the Republican tsunami the new congress will be diluted and the days of Ryan, Hastert and Boehner will return.

Too much hype. They're counting on Repubs to be lazy on not seeing the need to vote and Dems going all out. Plus Dems have the machines fixed and are marking ballots as we speak. Don't count your chickens.

"Enthusiasm Gap" is a polite way of saying that we hate the politics and competence of both parties but the GOP is a little less bad than the democrats. Stop asking for money because one or the other is going to win without us stuffing your campaign chests. The country is failing on all fronts and you think money is the answer?

Counting one’s chickens ahead of time is always a chancy thing. Never underestimate the ineptness of the GOP and the dishonesty of the DNC. As always though, I’ll put up my yard signs, write a few checks, show up to vote and hope for the best......bout all you can do. Who knows, we might get lucky.

I pray for a big red tsunami. There are two kinds and either are an acceptable outcome to me these days. 1. A fair election and peaceful replacement of rejected marxism. Or 2. Violent reaction to the blatant leftist cheating that removes, for this generation, at least, the unAmerican and traitorous Marxists who tried to destroy us. I pray for deliverance.

There should be some flipped sears in the Philadelphia suburbs, but may not be. Loud women incumbents are playing the you know what card. Katko, upstate NY, R nominally, is not running for reelection. The district probably will go D. Stefanik might be under assault as well. I'm not so sure of this red wave. Toomey's Senate seat for Pa has a spirited R primary race between Oz an McCormack, but the slick candidate is Fetterman, socialist democrat of ambiguous race, married to an illegal half black brazilian. Fetterman is a hard working campaigner, covering the state, going to the smallest towns, connecting to the voters.. His biography is half faked, but he and his family live in a converted gas station, in a black suburb of Pittsburgh. He is Lt. Gov., but doesn't live in or go to Harrisburg. Fetterman is also menacing looking, former college lineman, about 6/8 and in good shape. I'm nervous.

Not very if they're RINOs. Is the deep state pushing this meme so that once their 'plan B' bozos are elected they hope the great unwashed will go back to sleep? I think they may have misjudged the mood. Don't forget to primary every compromised politician. Also don't forget if they've been in any kind of office for more than one or two terms they are probably compromised.

Major move: Finland and Sweden to join NATO? 15 replies

During the first week of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, when Allahpundit was examining how Putin’s plan was already turning into a historic debacle, he speculated about one of the many unintended consequences Russia might be facing. He described how both Finland and Sweden had “resisted joining NATO for decades so as not to provoke Russia.” And it was a plan that had been working pretty well for them, at least until Putin apparently lost his mind. As recently as last October, Putin had been meeting with Finland’s president, Sauli Niinisto, to discuss bilateral agreements and climate change. But barely six months later, both Finland and Sweden are

Donald Trump is back in the Bronx. A state Supreme Court judge ruled Friday that the city did not have the right to cancel Trump’s contract to run the Ferry Point Golf Course. Mayor Bill de Blasio had nixed the deal after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, arguing that Trump would not be able to attract golf tournaments. In her decision and order filed on Friday, Justice Debra James said there was nothing in the contract that required a tournament — only that the city would share in any proceeds. That means either Trump gets to continue to run the course, or the city needs to pay him to leave.

Saturday, the world found out that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was in Ukraine. Making a surprise visit to Ukraine’s capital, Prime Minister Boris Johnson of Britain on Saturday promised more military equipment and missiles to Ukraine, underscoring his country’s role as Europe’s most enthusiastic supporter of the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky. Britain will provide 120 armored vehicles as well as new anti-ship missile systems to the Ukrainian military, Downing Street said in a statement issued to coincide with the prime minister’s meeting with Mr. Zelensky. That is in addition to £100 million, or about $130 million, worth of military equipment that Mr. Johnson pledged to Ukraine on Friday.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has been ousted from power after losing a no-confidence vote in his leadership. The vote was held past midnight after opposition parties brought a motion against him, which was upheld by the Supreme Court. Mr Khan had said he would not recognise an opposition government, claiming - without evidence - that there was a US-led conspiracy to remove him. The assembly will now appoint a new prime minister. That person will be able to hold power until October 2023 when the next election is due to be held. Mr Khan becomes the first Pakistani prime minister to be ousted by a no-confidence vote.

One of the bogus reasons that Vladimir Putin laid out for his incompetently executed invasion of Ukraine was to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. Against all evidence and commonsense, he claimed that Ukraine’s membership in a defensive alliance like NATO posed a direct threat to Russia. Putin and his acolytes would have us believe that NATO has just been lying in wait for the chance to bring Ukraine into NATO so NATO can invade Russia or something. Instead, in something of a geopolitical “own goal,” the invasion of Ukraine has created a de facto expansion of NATO to include Ukraine, and a de jure expansion of NATO

Winston Churchill famously called Russia a "riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma." A more accurate description of the current Russian Federation is a forgery wrapped in a deception inside a lie. Numerous analysts have focused on Moscow’s campaign of disinformation to undermine the West, but they have barely noticed that the most important subject of disinformation is Russia itself. Moscow has a long record of deceiving Westerners and depicting its empire as invincible. In a previous imperial incarnation, Soviet communism and socialist internationalism were supposed to ensure salvation for all humanity. Until, that is, they were exposed as a fraud. On Thursday, NATO held an emergency meeting about Russia’s increasingly horrific and atrocity-filled invasion of Ukraine. However, unlike most NATO meetings, this one was substantive. For starters, the attendees were not only NATO nations; there were also observers present: the European Union, Sweden, Finland, Georgia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Ukraine. If Putin was afraid of being surrounded before, he should take a quick look at his map now (just a reminder that Japan and Russia still have an unresolved border dispute, see Russia conducts military exercises in disputed islands).  As if to validate the stereotype of the Germans being

Scott has been writing about the strange case of the two men “of Washington, D.C.” who are under arrest, having purported to be high-level Department of Homeland Security agents. The men are Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali, which might give the politically incorrect some ideas. Somehow, Taherzadeh and Ali had plenty of money to throw around. The case took a small step forward today with the filing of a motion to hold the men in federal custody as flight risks. Donald Trump held a rally in North Carolina on Saturday night, but it wasn’t the normal theatrics and hilarity that the former president delivers that made the biggest impression. Rather, it was an endorsement that seems to have come out of nowhere, and I’ll go so far as to say it may be his worst ever (yes, worse than Morgan Ortega) — at least as a Republican politician. Honestly, I know some people take umbrage with anyone ever questioning Trump’s decision-making, but this is truly a head-scratching moment. I’m not sure offering endorsements to people based on them being on TV for a long time is the best strategy.
