The U.S. Department of Justice says it will appeal a ruling that eliminated COVID-19 mask mandates for public transportation if the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) deems it necessary.
"The Department of Justice and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) disagree with the district court’s decision and will appeal, subject to CDC’s conclusion that the order remains necessary for public health," the DOJ said in a statement. "The Department continues to believe that the order requiring masking in the transportation corridor is a valid exercise of the authority Congress has given CDC to protect the public health. That is an important authority

Ezra Miller has been arrested for second-degree assault in Hawaii, less than four weeks after the “Flash” and “Fantastic Beasts” star was arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment in Hilo, Hawaii.
Miller was arrested early Tuesday morning after an incident at a private residence in Pāhoa. Patrol officers responded to a report of an assault that occurred at a get-together in the Leilani Estates subdivision in lower Puna. According to the Hawaii Police Department, Miller allegedly became irate after being asked to leave and threw a chair, striking a 26-year-old woman on the forehead and resulting in an approximate half-inch cut. The woman refused treatment for the injury.

“My last day on Twitter … I’m logging off.”
What sane Twitter user hasn’t said this a hundred times?
But on Monday, it came from the unlikeliest of sources: Chris Licht, who is about to take over Jeff Zucker’s old role as head of CNN. Though Twitter has long become the go-to for journalists both absorbing and distributing information, the new honcho at one of the nation’s top outlets seems to believe the echo-chamber nature of the platform has become too much of a downside to carry on.
“May 2 will be my first official day in the office at CNN & my last day on Twitter,” he tweeted Monday morning.

You knew this would happen. A federal judge struck down Biden’s handlers’ mask mandate, and now the true mask believers are sure that we are all doomed, doomed, I tell you. The sky is falling because they’re not wearing masks on airplanes, and civilization as we know it, such as it is, is coming to a rapid end, not that we will see its end because we will all be dead. Republican operative Jake Schneider tweeted: “Delta just announced on my flight masks are now Optional!! I’m going to DC, so I was the only one clapping.” And indeed, numerous Leftists were enraged. Gov. Ron DeSantis said Tuesday that Florida will seek ways to hold Twitter's board of directors "accountable" over their response to billionaire Elon Musk's bid to take the company private.
"The state of Florida, in our pension system, we have shares of Twitter," DeSantis said during a press conference. "I didn't buy it. We have people that run the fund, but nevertheless, it hasn't been great in return on investment. It's been pretty stagnant for many, many years." "To me, I think that's probably an injury to the fund, so we're gonna be looking at ways that the state of Florida, potentially, can be holding this Twitter board of directors accountable

At Politico Derek Robertson has asserted that the GOP’s fight with Disney is proof that the culture has passed the party by. Whether he’s being dishonest or is simply that out of touch, the world Robertson is imagining is nowhere near reality.
“Disney has always been an explicitly morally instructive company,” Robertson informs us, acting baffled that the GOP would “demonize one of America’s most beloved and trusted corporations.” Never mind that this “morally instructive” and “beloved and trusted” corporation thanked Chinese officials involved in genocide in Xinjiang, or that a Trafalgar poll showed that Disney pushing sexual ideas in children’s entertainment is very unpopular.

In a world where content is king, I’m always appreciative of those who give me something to talk about, whether it’s for an article or for the live stream.
The account “Libs of TikTok” is a treasure trove of content that gathers and posts bizarre videos from radical leftists and protected groups that fall under their intersectional umbrella. They don’t edit it in any way, they just rip and post. The most they add is a little blurb for the tweet.
They don’t need to add anything, anyway. The content speaks for itself as you can see. The “Libs of TikTok” account became wildly popular doing something that you’d think was counter-intuitive,

Florida state Rep. Randy Fine (R) filed legislation on Tuesday to eliminate a special tax and governing jurisdiction Diseny has controlled and benefitted from for decades.
“Breaking: Disney is a guest in Florida. Today, we remind them. @GovDeSantis just expanded the Special Session so I could file HB3C which eliminates Reedy Creek Improvement District, a 50 yr-old special statute that makes Disney exempt from laws faced by regular Floridians,” DeSantis said.Fine’s legislation follows after Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced that the legislature would consider legislation to eliminate Disney’s special tax and governing jurisdiction

Joe Biden’s body is still warm, but the vultures in his own party are already picking at his carcass.
Somehow, all the grand plans, all the hopes and dreams of radicals, and all of the fantasies of Democratic partisans about creating an unbeatable, permanent Democratic coalition have fallen by the wayside, and a serious dose of political reality has smacked them all upside the head with a two-by-four. Democrats are currently engaged in a somewhat unseemly competition to see who ends up getting the blame for the failure of Biden’s agenda. Specifically, the ignominious end to the “Build Back Better” bill that Democrats firmly believed

Republicans will dominate the midterms elections in November, reclaiming the House and Senate, Politico predicted Tuesday.
While it is less of a surprise that Republicans are predicted to reclaim the House, it is more surprising the Senate is projected to “lean” Republican. If both forecasts come true, the Republicans will have an opportunity to conduct oversight and investigate the origins of the pandemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the invasion at the southern border, and whether or not President Biden should be impeached. Politico predicts the House will “likely” flip to Republicans.

Uber and Lyft lifted their respective mask requirements for U.S. passengers and drivers on Tuesday, one day after a federal judge overturned the Biden administration’s mask mandate for air travel and public transportation.
“Riders and drivers are not required to wear masks when using Uber,” the rideshare app told users in a message on Tuesday. “However, the CDC still recommends wearing a mask if you have certain personal risk factors and/or high transmission levels in your area.”
“Remember: many people still feel safer wearing a mask because of personal or family health situations, so please be respectful of their preferences,”
