At Least 50 Civilians Dead in Russian
Missile Strike on Ukrainian Train Station

Original Article

Posted By: Dreadnought, 4/8/2022 11:52:02 AM

A Russian missile strike on a Ukrainian train station killed at least 50 civilians and wounded another 98 Friday. At least five of the dead and at least 16 of the injured were children, the leader of the Donetsk regional administration, Pavlo Kyrylenko, confirmed in a tweet. The Kramatorsk railway station in eastern Ukraine was flooded with nearly 4,000 people, many of them elderly, women, and children, trying to escape to less war torn parts of the country at the time of the attack. Russia has been conducting a bloody invasion of Ukraine for nearly two months, inflicting a high civilian and military death toll and widespread destruction.

the foreground of the scene is awful, children toys, baby carriages, blood puddles...in the background upper right is what looks like a military green artillery/anti aircraft field piece. Was there outgoing fire before the incoming?

I guess the bidet family is looking for a bigger payout before they allow more help to flow to Ukraine. Perhaps huncher can set up a company with the Chinese to deliver aid to Ukraine following the clitton haiti model. Of course Big Bidet himself killed 7 children and other innocents trying to get some quick PR for himself.

According to the article, the deaths were the result of a missile strike and given the placement of the blood, it would seem the people died in place, but there is no evidence on the bricks or the luggage that shrapnel caused the deaths; likewise, with the pristine surfaces of the luggage and bags, there is no evidence of burns from a fireball and finally, with the upright positions of the luggage and baby carriage, no evidence of overpressure from a blast wave. Maybe someone can explain it to me but the photo shows evidence of being staged.

A young college student friend escaped Kiev into the countryside just after the shelling started. She was able to stay with some friends for a few weeks, but finally she got on a train in west central Ukraine and managed to get to Poland, and then to Germany by train where she currently is staying. Huge percentages of these people do not have cars, so are entirely dependent on public transportation. Most Americans, accustomed to having their own car since their teen years, have no idea what it is like to be totally at the mercy of public transportation.....in a war. And even if you have a car, I am skeptical how much fuel would be available if you wanted to drive to Poland. You may be able to scrounge up a tank full, but when traveling, I doubt that fuel would be available. Shelling a train station is pretty certainly an intentional attack on civilians. I saw a drone video of cars driving down a road in Ukraine, trying to escape the fighting. They see a dug in Russian tank and rapidly turn around to flee, but a burst of machine gun fire apparently disabled the car. The driver, a man, gets out and raises his hands high, walks sideways facing the tank. He is machinegunned by the tank crew. Then Russian soldiers come out and drag off a surviving child and friend who was trying to escape with the family. The dead mother was in the car. The video identified who the people were, after the tank left and the bodies were recovered. Things like this are entirely inexcusable. No way a man 50 meters from a tank with hands in the air is a threat. Apparently the two survivors of the car were later released by the Russian troops, a tiny bit of good.

Is this in the Donetsk region? This is supposed to be one of the breakaway regions that is pro-Russian. Why would Russia be bombing them? This is supposed to be one of the regions in Ukraine that is supportive of Russia. Guess they aren't now. Who in their right mind would want to be part of an oppressive nation like Russia anyway?

Re #9, The Moscow Slavs have always, since the 1500s, IIRC, taken the view of their superiority over the Kievan Slavs. Basically they Moscow Russians feel that they OWN Ukraine, it is THEIR PROPERTY and that it was wrongfully separated from their control. Like an escaped slave, no pun intended on 'escaped slavs'. This is the root of the problem, centuries of the Moscovy dukes taking the view the the Kievan dukes are their vassals. And as time has passed, and the last Czar was murdered and the Bolsheviks took over....this view of literal OWNERSHIP by what we now call "the Russians" of what we now call "the Ukrainians" has carried on. Putin has written about this, and the Russians see this as some sort of a historic right. Frankly, they are violently crazy.

Major move: Finland and Sweden to join NATO? 3 replies

During the first week of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, when Allahpundit was examining how Putin’s plan was already turning into a historic debacle, he speculated about one of the many unintended consequences Russia might be facing. He described how both Finland and Sweden had “resisted joining NATO for decades so as not to provoke Russia.” And it was a plan that had been working pretty well for them, at least until Putin apparently lost his mind. As recently as last October, Putin had been meeting with Finland’s president, Sauli Niinisto, to discuss bilateral agreements and climate change. But barely six months later, both Finland and Sweden are

Donald Trump is back in the Bronx. A state Supreme Court judge ruled Friday that the city did not have the right to cancel Trump’s contract to run the Ferry Point Golf Course. Mayor Bill de Blasio had nixed the deal after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, arguing that Trump would not be able to attract golf tournaments. In her decision and order filed on Friday, Justice Debra James said there was nothing in the contract that required a tournament — only that the city would share in any proceeds. That means either Trump gets to continue to run the course, or the city needs to pay him to leave.

Saturday, the world found out that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was in Ukraine. Making a surprise visit to Ukraine’s capital, Prime Minister Boris Johnson of Britain on Saturday promised more military equipment and missiles to Ukraine, underscoring his country’s role as Europe’s most enthusiastic supporter of the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky. Britain will provide 120 armored vehicles as well as new anti-ship missile systems to the Ukrainian military, Downing Street said in a statement issued to coincide with the prime minister’s meeting with Mr. Zelensky. That is in addition to £100 million, or about $130 million, worth of military equipment that Mr. Johnson pledged to Ukraine on Friday.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan has been ousted from power after losing a no-confidence vote in his leadership. The vote was held past midnight after opposition parties brought a motion against him, which was upheld by the Supreme Court. Mr Khan had said he would not recognise an opposition government, claiming - without evidence - that there was a US-led conspiracy to remove him. The assembly will now appoint a new prime minister. That person will be able to hold power until October 2023 when the next election is due to be held. Mr Khan becomes the first Pakistani prime minister to be ousted by a no-confidence vote.

One of the bogus reasons that Vladimir Putin laid out for his incompetently executed invasion of Ukraine was to prevent Ukraine from joining NATO. Against all evidence and commonsense, he claimed that Ukraine’s membership in a defensive alliance like NATO posed a direct threat to Russia. Putin and his acolytes would have us believe that NATO has just been lying in wait for the chance to bring Ukraine into NATO so NATO can invade Russia or something. Instead, in something of a geopolitical “own goal,” the invasion of Ukraine has created a de facto expansion of NATO to include Ukraine, and a de jure expansion of NATO

Winston Churchill famously called Russia a "riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma." A more accurate description of the current Russian Federation is a forgery wrapped in a deception inside a lie. Numerous analysts have focused on Moscow’s campaign of disinformation to undermine the West, but they have barely noticed that the most important subject of disinformation is Russia itself. Moscow has a long record of deceiving Westerners and depicting its empire as invincible. In a previous imperial incarnation, Soviet communism and socialist internationalism were supposed to ensure salvation for all humanity. Until, that is, they were exposed as a fraud. Scott has been writing about the strange case of the two men “of Washington, D.C.” who are under arrest, having purported to be high-level Department of Homeland Security agents. The men are Arian Taherzadeh and Haider Ali, which might give the politically incorrect some ideas. News reports indicate that they “compromised” four Secret Service agents, although my understanding is that this simply means that those agents accepted gifts from them. Somehow, Taherzadeh and Ali had plenty of money to throw around. The case took a small step forward today with the filing of a motion to hold the men in federal custody as flight risks. The motion begins:

Not when the Republican Party consists of “vulgar” populists and “infantile” nationalists who loathe free trade, free speech, the U.S. military, and libertarians.

Such felonies carry a penalty of up to 10 years in prison for medical practitioners, Politico reported. The legislation would ban medical treatments done for the purpose of changing a child’s appearance or affirming his or her gender identity, including drugs that halt healthy puberty; cross-sex hormones; surgical sterilizations such as castration, vasectomies, and hysterectomies; cosmetic genital reconstruction surgeries; and removal of healthy body parts.

Very often, when companies go woke, it turns out that the wokeness is a cover for changing market forces. That is, they're not alienating traditional demographics; they're reflecting that their money is coming from new demographics. When it comes to Hollywood and the NBA, for example, the big bucks are coming from China, not America. And when it comes to Disney, the main profit center isn't children; it's young adults who, Peter Pan–like, refuse to grow up. The brilliant Daniel Greenfield makes this point in an article entitled "Disney's Business Model is Turning Kids into Dysfunctional Adults: Its customer base isn't kids. It's messed up adults."
