UN chief calls for extreme weather warning
systems for everyone on Earth

Everyone on the planet should be covered by an early warning system against extreme weather and climate-related disasters within five years, the UN secretary general has said. About a third of people around the world are not now covered by early warning systems, but in Africa the problem is greater, with about six in 10 people lacking such warnings. As climate breakdown takes hold, more people are likely to be affected by extreme weather, including flash floods, heatwaves, more violent storms and coastal storm surges, made worse by sea level rises. António Guterres said it was unacceptable that so many people were still not covered by early warning systems,

Comments:

Everyone on the planet will be issued a portable device, made and serviced by a friend of António Guterres, that at all times will flash PANIC, alternating with TRUST THE GOVERNMENT, in red, along with a blaring siren.

Climate change doesn't cause emergency events. Things like earthquakes, volcanos, tsunamis forming from undersea earthquakes and volcanos, etc are very rare but super killers that need warning systems, especially for low lying areas. No one on a non-volcanic mountain needs a warning of anything. But, oh wait, we already have coastal warning systems in place for tsunamis. This is just more climate change fear porn.

At WHO's expense? Call me a racist but I suspect in Africa much of the population knows how to read the sky without 'needing' a TV weatherman to know whether it is raining outside.

I have windows and we're loaded with tornado sirens. Anything else weatherwise...I think we're good. This panic and hysteria about everything has to stop. Normal people have families to raise and jobs to do. All we want to do is make memories with the kids and grandkids. We want to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations and all other life events. We want to be left to hunt and fish, camp or glamp, travel and meet new people and see new places, We don't need to be tracked, alerted and notified by our government much less a hideous world government. I have heard these doomsayers my entire life. They have been wrong about absolutely everything regarding the "climate" forever. They took God out of the equation in the '50's, and decided that "they' were the All Knowing. Look at the mess we are in. We MUST take back the House and Senate in November and shut them down.

Early warning systems. Plus another initiative that their recommendations carry the force of law, that has been a push since Katrina on grounds people wouldn't do as they were told and they died so now it is proper to force them. Plus another initiative that the warning systems take in additional issues such as lost teenagers but ultimately including anything. Plus another initiative building the systems into new houses, cars and so on. And now you have Big Brother beaming orders at you 24/7/365. And the issue who gets to broadcast from them is huge. And another one to the effect that no other source of information re weather disasters should be allowed to broadcast their opinions because we may become confused. .... I am not worried because they can't pull it off imo but they are certainly trying. Ugh.

Not our problem. If these poor countries residents aren’t smart enough or care enough to fix their own country, it’s not our problem. Who was responsible for keeping them dumbed down for centuries? Dictators installed by the US and CIA or drug companies funded by Bill Gates to do experimental drug testing?

Given what is going on in Ukraine, the UN seems to have it's priorities mixed up. The fact that the UN has remained silent and done nothing regarding the Ukraine War and Russian aggressions: and the millions of refugees speaks volumes about UN priorities.

Everyone has jobs and no one is happy because prices are rising so sharply. U.S. consumer sentiment fell in March to the lowest since 2011 despite the level of jobless claims declining to the lowest level in decades and unemployment likely sinking to multi-decade lows. The University of Michigan’s sentiment index dropped to 59.4, from 62.8 in February, data released Friday showed. This was lower than the mid-month read of 59.7. Economists had projected no further deterioration from the mid-month reading. “Inflation has been the primary cause of rising pessimism, with an expected year-ahead inflation rate at 5.4 percent, the highest since November 1981,”
