Maryland Legislature Kills Bill to Collect
Home-Schoolers Information

Original Article

Posted By: Judy W., 3/19/2022 7:46:31 AM

After pressure from Maryland parents, Democrat Delegate Sheila Ruth (Baltimore) has announced that she will not longer push the bill she initially sponsored to collect information on households homeschooling their children. • Why the bill is dead: Ruth’s office has been inundated for weeks by irate parent’s calling and emailing to voice their opposition to the proposed legislation. • What she’s saying: “There’s no technical reason that I can’t withdraw the bill, but right now, given the toxic environment around this situation, the best possible outcome for everyone is for this bill to die a quiet death … Introducing the bill may have been a mistake

Comments:

The sponsor of this intrusive bill homeschooled her own children. Yet she somehow thought that homeschoolers would welcome the "help" of a council of homeschoolers and government officials. She had no idea of the anger and power of irate home schooling parents. (I am pretty sure that homeschoolers will be targeted by the federal government before too long.)

And after you gathered info on those horrid, home-schooling parents you and your minions would declare that the children were being deprived of a proper education and would move to have the children taken from their parents custody. The left will never stop trying to brainwash America.

Put that together with the new intrusive ATF gun ownership data and you've got: "Gevalt! There's a gun in a house with a child being homeschooled. What could these parents possibly be teaching besides domestic terrorism?" Ruby Ridge! Ruby Ridge!

Homeschoolers usually take President Reagan's words to heart: "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help." My 1st K-12 homeschool grad is now a trained and very competent HVAC technician. He makes good money, loves his job, loves learning new skills, and has ZERO debt at 20 years old. He is in huge demand and could work 50+ hours a week. To say I am a proud momma is an understatement. His dad just beams when he tells others about our son.

Idiot. The reason for homeschooling is that the parents don't want the government anywhere near their kids.

The average American was unlikely to see mainstream scientists challenging COVID-19 conventional wisdom outside of Fox News until recent months, when New York Times columnist David Leonhardt started shifting the Overton Window for elite discourse on pandemic policy. That troubles the three dozen scientists, academics and journalists who gathered in D.C. last week to discuss censorship in science and ways to push back, perhaps through alternative institutions such as the nascent University of Austin. President Trump's former COVID advisor Scott Atlas cohosted the "quasi-kickoff" of Hillsdale College's Academy for Science and Freedom, which he called a "seed" to be followed by larger meetings and smaller working groups.

Stan Evans helped build the conservative movement by founding the American Conservative Union, the Conservative Political Action Conference, and establishing the National Journalism Center. He was, in addition, a tremendous journalist and thinker. His book “The Theme Is Freedom” should be a conservative classic, Steven Hayward observes in his new book “M. Stanton Evans: Conservative Wit, Apostle of Freedom.” What also made Evans so very unique was his tremendous humor that he used to undermine progressive moralizing. Hayward notes that a standard liberal critique of America was to say that any country that can land a man on the moon can enact x progressive policy.

The former attorney general, whose new book is “One Damn Thing After Another,” explained: “Yes, I think the coming presidential election would be a good opportunity for the Republican Party. The progressive left is showing a sort of totalitarian temperament. “I think the Republicans can win a decisive majority, but I don’t think we can do it with Trump. According to President Biden in his State of the Union, the war between Ukraine and Russia is a “fight for freedom,” a “battle between democracy and autocracies.” Those countries opposing Russia’s invasion are a “coalition of other freedom-loving nations.” Perhaps for Ukraine, the war really is about freedom (though Ukraine is neither as free nor as democratic as Western media portray it). But for the Globalist American Empire, the crusade against Russia has nothing to do with “democracy” or “freedom.” (Snip) The battle against Russia is a new frontier of American policymaking: It is the globalization of BLM tactics and “cancel culture.” It is George Floydism converted from domestic cudgel

For months, defense attorneys representing the men accused of conspiring to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in 2020 have built a convincing case of FBI entrapment, filing dozens of motions in federal court detailing how the government concocted the plot with at least a dozen FBI undercover agents and informants. But District Court Judge Robert Jonker wanted to delay presenting that trove of evidence at trial for as long as possible. (Snip) Jonker’s plan, however, didn’t make it past the first morning break. After it became clear during opening statements that the defense could not argue their case without explaining the deep involvement of the FBI’s confidential human sources, Jonker reversed his ruling,

We’ve certainly shown the indication of the advanced web of them. But I’ll tell you who does know: Russian intelligence, Chinese intelligence. Katrina Robinson, 41, struck the plea deal Friday which saw her admit just two of the 20 counts she was facing, with a value of $3,400. Sentencing guidelines could have seen the former Tennessee lawmaker face up to 10 months in prison for those counts. But US District Judge Sheryl H Lipman decided to let Robinson off with a slap on the wrist, and sentenced her to just a year of probation after claiming that the swindler had suffered enough already.
