Tiresome ESPN Announcers Observe Moment

Imagining that sports fans agree kindergarteners should be taught about exotic sexual proclivities in the classroom, several ESPN moralizers observed a “moment of silence” during live broadcasts on Friday. At the start of the second half of an NCAA Women’s Tournament game, sportscasters Carolyn Peck and Courtney Lyle took a break from describing the game to preach at viewers about politics. “Normally at this time, we would take a look back at the first half,” began Lyle. “But there are things bigger than basketball that need to be addressed at this time. Our friends, our family, our co-workers, the players and coaches in our community are hurting right now,” she claimed.

Comments:

Is there anything more tiresome than a couple of bitter old lesbians sitting behind microphones and preaching nonsense to people who want to just watch a basketball game??

One of the reasons we dropped cable is the presence of ESPN in the "package". ESPN probably couldn't exist without "cable". If you want ESPN to cease... cut the cable. We haven't had cable for about 5 years. We haven't missed much. We can stream most of what we want to see.

Ms Peck and Ms Lyle should read the legislation before commenting on it. The legislation enforces parental rights over their children and prevents Government indoctrination of children pre thru grade 3. The alphabets and news orgs are complicit with Peck and Lyle. And they wonder why they've lost millions of viewers the last three or four years. You still can't figure it out. Why? Because you're too stupid. Your viewers want to watch sports and hear the scores of games from the night before. They don't want to be lectured to. If you don't think that isn't true, put nut bag Keith Olberman back on the air and see where your ratings go. You'll sink faster than the Titanic.

ESPN must have a line item on their job applications that reads, "You must be a putz to work here." In general, I believe that adults should be permitted to do what they like but when it's in public and/or involves corrupting children, NO GO. These babes were wrong and should be fired.

I did watch the Braves stick a thumb in the lefts’ eyes during the World Series after they yanked the All Star game from Atlanta simply because Ga passed a law making it harder to cheat. To top that off, the UGA went on to win the National Championship in college football. FESPN.

Hollywood celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, and Jane Fonda are protesting a Canadian natural gas pipeline that they claim represents a threat to the climate and indigenous rights. Their demand to defund the pipeline comes as energy prices are soaring around the world, putting a squeeze on working class families and sending a dire ripple effect throughout the global economy. The pipeline at the center of the fight is the Coastal GasLink, which transports natural gas across the Canadian Rockies in British Columbia to the Pacific coast. Celebrities are putting pressure on Los Angeles-based City National Bank, citing the bank’s parent company, the Royal Bank of Canada,

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that gas prices are painfully high. You also know that the Biden administration is doing nothing to help ease the strain. The fact of the matter is that Biden’s energy policies — which we can summarize as “just buy an electric vehicle” — have much to do with the high price of gas. Even though the Biden administration has shut down domestic oil production, various government officials have approached states that are less-than-friendly to the U.S. — like Iran and Venezuela — seeking oil. But even if the administration still stubbornly refuses to drill for domestic oil,

It’s really a shame that the master propagandists of the mid-20th century in Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia missed the 21st-century revolution in imaging. Think what Goebbels and his Nazi cohorts could have done with modern CGI. Or what Stalin could have done with deep fakes. Democrats on the Jan. 6 Committee are not similarly handicapped. They are beginning to prepare a multimedia presentation that will be available online when their final report is released (probably about six weeks out from the midterms). Republicans are reinventing voter mobilization — by recruiting drivers at gas stations as they pump some of the costliest fuel in history. “I’ve never been so excited about gas in my life,” said GOP activist Scott Presler. Presler sent dozens of volunteers to gas stations across the city and Long Island on Saturday to sign up new voters ahead of November’s midterm elections — and to convince registered Democrats to switch parties. The effort comes amid an incredible price surge at the pump — $4.78 a gallon in Manhattan on Friday, up from $2.99 a year ago — that has motorists casting blame on President Joe Biden.

I’m starting to think that Republican support will be much harder to get than Biden had hoped. Last month, we learned that in 1996, Jackson wrote a “Note” for the Harvard Law Review arguing that convicted sex offenders were treated “unfairly” in the courts. Earlier this week, her past work advocating on behalf of Guantánamo Bay terrorists also became an issue that will undoubtedly come up during her confirmation hearings. I should have added that it wasn’t Biden’s performance per se that would lead to his downfall.
