We should have known better. I should have known better. What was billed as the “secure” alternative to Google’s data-siphoning search engine has turned out to be no better at belaying the leftist barrage of downvoting unacceptable speech. What good is valuing my privacy if you don’t value my free speech or my access to all viewpoints?
Joining countless other companies at destroying lives and freedom, DuckDuckGo announced via their CEO’s Twitter feed that the company would begin engaging in, effective immediately, the censorship of articles or sites that promote – gasp! – skepticism at the corporate media’s approved narrative.

Duck Duck Go's underlying engine is Bing.

Trump is going live with his much ballyhooed social media site. Now perhaps he should sponsor a search engine that won't practice censorship.

Anyone have something better? I followed you to DDG - It is not really a very good search engine and I don’t do woke.

Russia has a organized, government funded, army of trolls and propagandists that presents and outsized voice.
It’s a difficult problem.
Almost all news (of any kind) is just propaganda.

DDG is fine by me. They should perhaps have a board meeting to have their CEO do some 'splaining.

Unless things have changed, Brave is built on a platform owned by Google.

Just permanently removed Duck Duck Crap. I understood that it used google as the underlying search engine. Not sure about Bing, but isn't that a microsoft product? If so, I doubt they can be trusted either.

Yes, #8, it's the Chromium platform but not just a different face on Google's Chrome browser.
I highly recommend the Brave browser.

I had switched to Duck to avoid being tracked. Is that still a feature? Many commercials lately from Duck saying that they don't track. Will that change?

Also, the CEO said that he sands with Ukraine , so? He wants Duck to mirror his beliefs. Fascist much ?

Me too #13. Where indeed?
Maybe Gab can create one. They seem to be the only platform that truly does believe in free speech.

I want to read Russian disinformation. It is more true than USA state run media disinformation. I support censorship of corporate CEOs and the state run media. They should be masked and gagged.

#15 It looks like Torba at Gab is working on it. I'm sure it won't take him long.

In that case, we'll just make our own search engine.

AFAIK, DuckDuckGo has no actual search engine, just uses muiltiple other search engines and hides who is doing the searching, and amalgamates the results of multiple other engines.
I don't think that their technology even makes this something that they could do. Now, if all the other search engines are crooked.....those results may well come through in the DDG results.
But still.....Evil Google doesn't see your search and record you.
