Food Prices Up 20% Over the Past Year

If your grocery bills continue to frustrate you, you’re not alone. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) released its report on worldwide food prices for February, and prices hit a record high last month. The February FAO Food Price Index (FFPI) reached a new high of 140.7 points, which reflects an increase of 3.9% over January and a whopping 20.7% over this time last year. The FFPI serves as a “measure of the monthly change in international prices of a basket of food commodities,” notes the FAO. This month’s increase was largely due to “large increases in vegetable oil and dairy price sub-indices.”

It takes fuel (diesel and gasoline) to put food on your grocery shelf. Raising cattle, growing crops, processing all and delivering it involves that $100+ barrel of oil. Labor prices will eventually rise because everyone is seeing everything they do cost more. Of course the Biden Bunch will make sure their union friends get compensated first. This, of course, is in addition to the excessive federal spending that is putting more dollars out there to chase the same amount of goods and services. If they just printed more paper money and put more checks in the mail that would be bad enough, but they also have to borrow the money they are creating so you have the interest on the debt growing very very fast. It will get even worse when a responsible government then has to raise interest rates to bring the inflation under control. These people are creating huge problems for us now and for the future.

Just a small thing, but the $3.59 bottle of Coffeemate is not $5.97 or $6.00 at two stores. Gas today is exactly 100% more than it was in January 2021. Tell me again about 7% or so inflation.

The Dollar Tree stores went from $1 to $1.25, that's more than 20.7%. Every visit to the store shows price increases.

If you are planning to vote Democrat ....again.... like your parents and grandparents reflexively did ...look at what you pay for groceries, gas and taxes now versus a year by and a half ago and then ask yourself WHY!!

In addition to the higher prices, there are more and more empty shelves in the grocery stores. Gonna get worse. May want to stock up on essentials.

Russian and Ukrainian nationals are increasingly arriving at the United States-Mexico border in the hopes of being released into the nation’s interior, newly released data shows. As Republican and Democrat lawmakers focus their attention on the borders of Ukraine amidst Russia’s invasion, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data reveals that a growing number of Russians and Ukrainians are using the southern border to get released into the U.S. interior. Reuters reports: U.S. border officials encountered about 6,400 Russians in the four months between October 2021 and January of this year, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) data show. That’s more than the roughly 4,100 apprehended during the entire 2021 fiscal year,

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), a Democrat who has consistently opposed measures to make America energy independent, took thousands in donations from lobbyists for the Russian Nordstream 2 pipeline. As gas prices surged to the most expensive ever recorded on Monday, the revelations about Cortez Masto could severely jeopardize her 2022 reelection campaign. Gas prices on Monday soared in Nevada to at least $4.590 per gallon — the second-highest in the nation behind Hawaii — and even as this happened, the Democrat senator has regularly opposed initiatives that would reduce gas prices and increase American energy independence. For instance, Masto has opposed the Keystone Pipeline, drilling on federal lands,

A Texas federal judge on Friday ordered President Joe Biden to stop the mass release of illegal migrant children crossing the southern border into the country. Judge Mark Pittman’s order prevents Biden from exempting minor migrants from Title 42. Title 42 is an immigration policy implemented by former President Donald Trump that allows U.S. immigration officials to expel immediately migrants who come to the southern border. Title 42 was implemented in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Since the policy’s start in March 2020, the federal government has expelled more than 1.6 million migrants. Biden previously declined to expel unaccompanied minor children under Title 42.

The Supreme Court ruled on Monday against an appeal concerning Bill Cosby’s overturned conviction in 2021 involving a sexual assault conviction. The decision left in place a 4-3 ruling by Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court that ruled Cosby’s 2018 conviction violated his due process rights. Cosby was released in June following the overturned decision. The Pennsylvania ruling was appealed to the Supreme Court in November by Montgomery County’s district attorney regarding a case reaching back to 2005. The appeal to the Supreme Court emphasized the due process clause: “Where a prosecutor publicly announces that he will not file criminal charges based on lack of evidence,

Trudeau recently claimed, then quickly surrendered, “emergency powers,” using Enabling Acts-like powers to crack down on the truckers peacefully protesting his regime in Ottawa. Using those powers, Trudeau sent in the police to beat back and disperse the peaceful crowds of truckers and their allies, worked with banks to freeze the assets of dissenters, and ruthlessly persecuted those who dared to disagree. In short, he acted like a tyrant. Refusing to listen to the protesters or let them peacefully exercise their rights, he cracked down on them with a vengeance, acting as any tinpot dictator would. Well, guess what he’s doing now: attacking Putin for being an “authoritarian.”

The federal government, that bloated DC bureaucracy, that center of massive spending and outcomes that are rarely, if ever, positive, has gotten far too big. It does much, but little of it well, spending money like there’s no tomorrow while achieving little, racking up a massive mountain of debt and inflating the currency away to nothing for no corresponding gain of note. Yet worse, much of what it’s doing is unconstitutional; federal agencies of dubious constitutionality rule over the American people like eastern despots while the rules they promulgate crush small businesses under a mountain of paperwork or make whatever problem they’re meant to “solve” even worse. So, what’s to be done?

When will we ever learn not to fret over what’s going on in the world? Our Democrat party overlords know what’s best for us, and all we have to do is simply follow their suggestions. After all, their solutions are so simple. Take high gas prices for example. So many of us peons worry about the skyrocketing price of gas at the pump, but America’s brilliant Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg has a fix for gas prices that’s so easy it’s almost ridiculous. Why, you just need to buy an electric vehicle, you silly goose. “Clean transportation can bring significant cost savings for the American people as well,” Buttigieg said

'We are all in the midst of a turning point. We have the technologies to transition to a zero emission fleet,' Harris said during the announcement. 'We can address the climate crisis and grow our economy at the same time.'

The White House on Sunday rejected the argument that increasing domestic oil production would help lower gas prices, as the cost of oil moves toward record highs. Crude oil prices rose as high as $130.50 a barrel on Sunday evening. White House press secretary Jen Psaki released a set of talking points on social media, arguing against a focus on boosting oil production in the United States. “It’s a reminder that real energy security comes from reducing our dependence on fossil fuels,” Psaki wrote, noting that Russia’s continued invasion of Ukraine was causing a spike in oil prices. Psaki pushed back against Republicans calling for more domestic oil production.
Impeach Biden 29 replies

Within MAGA circles, talk is turning increasingly to impeaching Joe Biden after the midterm elections—assuming, of course, the Republicans retake the House of Representatives (which appears likely). Unfortunately, actual removal would require 60 votes in the Senate. Even under the most favorable scenario, it’s unlikely the GOP will pick up more than four Senate seats.  Nonetheless, with the strong likelihood the Republicans will take control of the House, impeaching Biden looks viable. Why? Well, for the same reason a Democrat-controlled House impeached Donald Trump—twice.  The Democrats used the impeachment process to persuade millions of middle-of-the-road and independent voters that Trump had done something terribly wrong. Of course, the Democrats’ two impeachment efforts were frivolous

On Sunday’s broadcast of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” former National Security Council Senior Director Fiona Hill insisted former President Donald Trump, despite being out of office for more than a year, played a role in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine. Hill argued that Trump’s request for a “personal favor” set the wheels in motion for the invasion. “[I] think there’s just the one point that sums everything up that you yourself touched on is that President Trump at a pretty critical period, withheld military assistance to Ukraine that was desperate for it at that particular junction, basically to get Volodymyr Zelensky to do him a personal favor,” Hill said.
