A U.S. women's basketball superstar is being held in Russia after allegedly being caught with illegal drugs at an airport in Moscow.
The basketball player, identified by Russian media outlet Lenta as Brittney Griner, 31, was flagged at Sheremetyevo Airport sometime last month after flying in from New York. Russian customs officials claim she was carrying vaping equipment with cannabis oil cartridges, which are illegal in Russia. She reportedly could face 5 to 10 years in prison. "As a U.S. citizen was passing through the green channel at Sheremetyevo Airport upon arriving from New York, a working dog from the Sheremetyevo Customs canine department detected the possible presence of narcotic substances

Who knows, this may be a setup by the Russian government. However, if it is not, you have to be a special kind of stupid to have *any* drugs on you going through an overseas airport.

#4, the level of SCHTOOPIDITY that it takes to be on that show is breathtaking.
I’ve watched enough, I don’t want to even cross state lines. Much less travel overseas.
But then again, it could be a setup.
Guess we’ll know soon enough.

#4, 6, and 7 said it first: It takes a special kind of stupid to subject oneself to another country's illegal drug laws. Marijuana and its derivatives are probably destined for legalization across the USA, but many other countries don't regard the weed as medicine yet, and won't. Russian prison ain't beanbag. Silly girl.

Biden will get to prove up on his LGBT bona fides and get this one out of jail. After all, he did divide them out of the crowd and makw promises at his SOTU speech this week. I hope it doesn't cost US taxpayers the same kind of ransom paid to Iran for their hostages.

Anyone so stupid to attempt to smuggle drugs through an airport deserves to be locked up. If our government attempts to assist her before letting all those locked up Jan 6, it'll just show fools are in charge.

Gonna be fun watching her play the race card. Black privilege only works if there’s white guilt.

Have never enjoyed this player! Always leave “gender confused”? Do enjoy the woman’s college game. If you haven’t watched Catlin Clarke from “America’s Team” THE University of Iowa you are missing a once in a lifetime talent! She bombs 3 point shots from the arena logo with the ease of a layup! Leads the nation in scoring and assists as a Sophmore! Brittany is in big trouble!

It could be a set up by the Russians or as others have said it takes some kind of stupid to take drugs or drug paraphernalia through another country, especially a dictatorship. At the same time I guess this idiot thought being black gave her special privilege throughout the world like it does now in the USA and nothing would happen to her. Guess it doesn't.

If she's a Karen, you can keep her...but I suspect the drugs were planted just for Vlad to have something, anything to slap us with!
