No one likes it when things don’t go their way. Whether it’s a being passed over for a promotion at work or the dissolution of a long-term personal relationship or a financial reversal, a setback is never welcome. What defines a person’s character is his reaction to adverse events. Mature adults will stop, take a breath, internalize the misfortune, evaluate their options and calmly pick a corrective course of action, with a minimum of hyperbolic arm-waving and verbal histrionics. Young children, of course, haven’t attained this level of personal composure and they react with gut-level emotion, stamping their feet, shouting out excuses and rationalizations and just generally blaming everyone

Many Americans are baffled that the economy has become inflationary and may be heading for a recession. The price of gasoline is especially troublesome.
President Biden blames the baffling backward bounce of the economy on the COVID pandemic. As with much political commentary, there is an element of truth in his observation. However, the pandemic didn't cause inflation; the government's response to the pandemic did. In 1986, President Reagan said, "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help." Reagan's remarks are more relevant today than the day he delivered them.

Except in the months preceding a crucial midterm election, today’s Democrats would argue that high gas prices are a good thing. They see gas prices as a Pigouvian tax on fossil fuels that accelerate the shift to renewable “green” energy. Regulatory and legislative actions such as killing the Keystone Pipeline early last year, and closing off federal lands for oil drilling, were made by the Biden Administration and its congressional cohorts knowing full well such decisions would raise gas prices for consumers.
Democrats were okay with that, until their polling numbers began dipping into the frigid zone.

What if two years ago, when COVID-19 first hit these shores, our politicians hadn't panicked?
What if the government did what it has done every time we were confronted with a deadly virus, such as the Spanish flu or polio? Instead of locking down our schools, churches and businesses, the government could have simply informed citizens of the risks of getting sick and urged people to be extra careful about hygiene, stay out of crowded places and protect the vulnerable.
It turns out there was one country that mostly rejected lockdowns and let life go on as normal as possible under dire circumstances. That country was Sweden.

Happy Tuesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. The dress code has been amended to include ascots and Crocs, but never together.
One of the best arguments for colonizing the moon and Mars is that there would be someplace to get away to when this world gets crazy. On the off chance that you haven’t been outside in while, I would like to pass along the fact that the world is, at present, a little Froot Loops.
If someone had written a novel describing the last two years, critics would have panned it as a dystopian effort that was just a little too over the top.

Elon Musk is one of those rare entrepreneurs who is incredibly successful and also a bit of a smart ass to the elected elite who could potentially make his business life more difficult than it already is. This is why he is a must-follow on Twitter or anywhere he comments because he is going to give you some verbal gold nuggets. When he does and it is against a fraud like Elizabeth Warren of Taxachusetts, it is just so enjoyable to watch.
Elizabeth Warren decided to go and see her friends on New Day over at CNN to gurgle some classic class warfare rhetoric

Financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein died in a Manhattan prison in August of 2019 under very mysterious circumstances. He was awaiting trial on additional charges when he supposedly committed “suicide” by hanging himself, although he told a prison psychologist, he would never take his own life.
To make matters even more suspicious, the video of his cell during the time of his death was conveniently “lost.” The prison guards on duty that night were reportedly playing video games and asleep,
(Snip)This convenient “suicide” has now been followed by another one less than three years later. This time, the scene was an infamous prison in Paris, France.

Justin Trudeau has a highly inflated opinion of himself, without cause.
But he’s about to get ripped apart on Monday in the vote on the Emergencies Act, and over the horrible actions of both his government and the actions of police in Ottawa here, here , and here. The evisceration which is coming will all be richly and justifiably deserved.
Trudeau has falsely attacked and demonized the Freedom Convoy,
(Snip) But someone who comes from a country that knows something about Communist dictatorships, Romanian Member of the European Parliament Cristian Terhes, had a few things to say about Trudeau and his crackdown on the Freedom Convoy.

Some years ago, your favorite, quasi-anonymous political writer made his debut on Sean Hannity’s primetime show. Sure, it was only a brief mention of my article’s premise, alongside a screenshot of the headline, but for that moment, I transcended…something.
The article in question was titled “Joe Biden Produces a Word Salad So Bad It’ll Make You Question Everything.” And while it seems almost quaint now, having been written prior to the 2020 election, it remains no less instructive today, serving as a reminder of just how far gone Biden was — even during the campaign.
Behold, the man who would go on to become the current President of the United States.

The protesters in Ottawa are hoping to make it through the weekend until the Senate convenes. They want to make it to Monday because the Emergencies Act has to be approved by the Parliament within seven days of it being called for, which was on February 14. So it has to be approved by tomorrow. They are hoping that the legislators will not approve it, the police will back off, and the Parliament will address their concerns.
There were still hundreds of protesters out Saturday in Ottawa, more even than there were earlier when there was a lot of police action against them.

Presidents’ Day is one of those uniquely American holidays. As such, it is under scrutiny and condemnation of the anti-American Left. Honoring men, white men for that matter, who engaged in colonization and racism, the argument goes ad nauseum, is bad. Shame on us who honor these despicable men.
The condemnation of Washington, and even Lincoln, fails to miss a broader and bigger story that their inspirational memory is meant to reveal: the growth of liberty and equality in the United States that Washington helped give birth to and that Lincoln helped to preserve and expand.
Focusing on the detriments of Washington and Lincoln as individuals obscures the bigger story

Are you "white"? If you go to the paint store and ask for white paint, does the paint match your skin color? If you put your arm against a white appliance, does it look the same? If you are naked in a snowstorm, do you become completely camouflaged? If you put your hand in a copy machine does a blank page come out?
No it doesn't, because you aren't white, you are more of a harvest peach.
Does that make you "Caucasian"? The word is based off the Caucasus Mountains which basically form the border between Georgia and Russia.
