Masks off? Democrats try for a pandemic pivot

Original Article

Democrats are making a U-turn on mask mandates, just in time for the midterms. It’s happening among the party’s governors, several of whom are easing up their masking rules as Covid’s Omicron wave fades. And it’s happening on the Hill, where Democrats are suddenly lining up to call for rollbacks of the nation’s most noticeable pandemic-era rule. Their pandemic pivot comes as they brace for a brutal November election in which the virus — and the culture war that’s accompanied it — is shaping up to be Democrats’ biggest blind spot.

We can feel it seething, and, finally, so can they. We can see it in the eyes of the people we meet, even in spite of the masks many still wear if only for that infinitesimal possibility that it will do SOMEthing for SOMEbody in the encounter. Americans, like freedom-loving people everywhere, are screaming inside, calling out from their hearts, and they want, they DEMAND to have their lives back. Defiance and disobedience is growing, and will continue to do so. There is a grave, palpable and growing DISGUST at the clear arrogance and presumptuousness of those in authority across the nation, and around the world. The Leftists and elites think they have managed to turn a Chinese-American viral experiment into an opportunity for a massive, history-rending, social TIMEOUT to make every person, nation and system stand down, shut down and turn away in abject fear, while they madly fiddle and twist and toy with their Great Reset theories and arrogant manipulations. They definitely have plans for how this movie is going to turn out on the other side. In one fell swoop they seek to clear the slate of the Founding Fathers, the Constitution, hundreds of years of human political development, and the shining emblem to the human spirit that is this nation. These "Masters of the Universe" MUST and SHALL BE the new targets if we are to save ourselves, our souls and the human spirit. They see themselves apart from the rest of us, play G-d with the atmosphere and climate (see Bill Gates), and use their wealth to bring havoc to world economies (Soros, Schwab, WEF and Davos). They seek to put harnesses and shackles on the Common People to get them under control and "adjust" behavior and "save" the planet for their visions. As the Pandemic slowly winds down and burns out, as we all knew it would, efforts to stir wars and rumors of new wars is just another ploy to bring peoples to their knees, begging for intervention and protection. We see the manipulations and orchestrations. We see the treachery and treason, against law and country and the human soul. We are watching, keeping records, and building cases. But, as someone said (and recent news puts an ironic cast on it), "rust never sleeps", and time continues to march forward. The evil that these people are committed to cannot be negotiated, or persuaded, or argued away, for the simple reason that they believe they are right, and that they are the Light and the Power, amen. Watch the way they and their blind converts behave in public, in the recent news. Read the polls telling what bitter and unspeakable things they are willing to do to their fellow Americans and others for being among the unwashed. It is well past time to deal with this evil, and it can only be done in their own language, using the methods they live and breathe by. Money, force, power...the battle requires finality, and the Devil is showing his cards every day.

Note to Democrats: Keep wearing your pathetic, worthless masks. The masks mean Joe has failed to deliver on his promise to end the virus. Even more reason to vote Republican.

The democrats are using the classic strategy on mandates. If you are getting run out of town by a mob...turn around (make a u-turn) and make it look you like are leading a parade. The left is crowing about the great success that they had in managing the pandemic... even though every decision they made was wrong. The same logic can be applied can be applied to climate change. If their data suggests the climate is cooling they can say...all our hard work on global warming is finally working...but our work is far from completed.

They will still have to cheat in massive amounts. Obama got destroyed in both the 2010 and 2014 midterms. He was a lot better at disguising his hatred of the masses. Then there are shortages, high prices, floods of illegals, a dual justice system, criminals released, threats of stupid wars, and massive spending on themselves in the political class, plus they stole the last election. Fudging on mandates will barely move the meter when your party enjoys drinking blood.

It was until just recently that I felt leftists in government and media would do all they could to keep the mandates and lockdowns in place through the mid-terms so they could steal elections again. They tried, but now the calculus has changed. Everyone knows their change of heart is purely political. They have no core beliefs. Everything these leftists do while in office is done to make sure they stay in office.

Unfortunately for me personally, Mendocino County didn't get the memo from Gruesome Nuisance. Yesterday our unelected health commissar published an edict that indoor masking will remain due to "high case counts", although no stats were included. The edict goes into effect on February 15th, the day the state mandate ends. I guess being a backwater county with an 80-20/commie-normal split, he's being responsive to "his community". TK does all our major shopping, so I really don't give a damn regarding stores. If needed, I just walk in without a mask to pick up a few items. (Unless I want to go to town without my dentures!) However, as long as the indoor mandate exists, I still cannot attend Mass. I've tried attending with a mask three times, but the results were disastrous and TK said, "No more." I was really looking forward to February 15th. I never expected a county health officer would over ride The Gruesome. I have a mind to drive TK's '96 Dodge Ram 2500 around the County complex honking, honking, honking! We are all truckers now!

There’s a vibrant, exciting music scene happening in New York City — and newly elected mayor Eric Adams isn’t happy about it. In remarks to members of the press Friday, Adams expressed concerns about drill rap, the musical subgenre that has flourished in his home borough of Brooklyn over the past half-decade. He characterized the music as “alarming,” linking it to gun violence, and appeared to put further blame on social media companies. “We pulled Trump off Twitter,” Adams said. “Yet we are allowing music, displaying of guns, violence.

Over the years I’ve managed to read a couple of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels. It’s yet another iteration of the American Story repeated endlessly in American fiction high and low, from Huckleberry Finn to Dashiell Hammett, and from John Wayne to Clint Eastwood: A stranger wanders into town, rights the wrongs, wins the girl, leaves the girl, and continues his wandering. It’s John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, but without the reception in the Celestial City. America from the outset has been caught in a recurring dream (sometimes a nightmare) of a journey that cannot end but only begin again.

The NY Times just published a story about how Republicans got out ahead of Democrats on the inflation issue. The story credits Rep. Elise Stefanik for noticing last year that prices were creeping up at the grocery store. Back when economists were still promising inflation would be transitory, Stefanik thought this could become a big issue for the GOP. Early last year, Representative Elise Stefanik of New York, who was then campaigning to become the No. 3 Republican in the House, began to notice that the prices of fruit, bacon, milk and eggs were creeping up.

Since early days, Democrats have pushed increasingly onerous regulations in response to the Wuhan coronavirus. Lockdowns — which the World Health Organization disavows except in very narrow, short-term circumstances and which are unsupported by science — have dragged on and on. Teachers unions kept schools closed month after month in blue states, and even children as young as 2 are being forced to mask despite no scientific support for doing so. Indeed, masking has become a political statement, to the point that Democrats routinely report wearing masks outdoors

Byron York noticed that Biden’s floor is now officially below 40%: That 15-point gap didn’t come out of nowhere. The last national poll tracked by RCP with a single-digit gap in Biden’s job approval came last week from the Economist/YouGov tracking poll (45/49).
