The U.S. Army unveiled a plan this week to tackle issues surrounding climate change, including the establishment of an electric vehicle fleet, as well as the reduction of the branch's greenhouse gas emissions. The plan, outlined by the Army in a document titled "Climate Strategy," calls for the service to cut its emissions by 50% by 2030 from 2005 levels and reach net-zero emissions by 2050. The strategy aims to establish an "all-electric light-duty non-tactical vehicle fleet by 2027" and an "all-electric non-tactical vehicle fleet by 2035." "There are 950 renewable energy projects supplying 480 megawatts of power to the Army today … scoped and planned through 2024," the Army strategy stated.

With EMP bombs being one of the greatest threats how does this make any sense? If anything we should be looking at old school without any chips or electronics to keep them working. This idiots have obviously not been playing with a full deck. By the way, nitwits, the electricity comes from coal fired plants, it will have to because unless you plan on covering the planet with solar panels you are SOL. Oh and in case you haven't thought of this scenario either, those solar panels will be worth less too.

The electric jeeps will be equipped with incredibly long extension cords - - which will also serve as "bread crumbs" - - so that the troops can find their way back to the charging stations - - without a compass. These woke generals think of everything!

Have they even thought about the time it takes to recharge those batteries vs time to fill a vehicle fuel tank? Now they need to build a fleet of fuel powered recharging stations on wheels to rescue supply vehicles with dead batteries left along the road. As for all these charging station the wuss claims we will build every 50 miles, who will maintain those stations and repair/replace stolen charging cables copper thieves will surly carry away. And, it has been estimated it will take 45 minutes to charge an electric vehicle so if you are second or third or fourth in line at a charging station bring a picnic lunch.

The battery for a Ford truck, with a range of 200 miles is 1800 lbs. A Bradley literally weighs 5 times as much as a Ford truck. Sorry.....it can't realistically be done with the current technology. The good news for any adversary will be the heads up that an invasion is immenent when the US starts building charging stations in your country. The other good news, the US will have to re-think its strategy of destroying an enemies electric grid if we plan to invade.

At this time, EVs are not practical for military or emergency vehicle use. If the battery dies, you need a tow truck to haul it to a recharge station. Ask the Tesla owners that had this happen on I-95 recently. A gasoline engine vehicle only needs a can of gas to get rolling again. Virtue Signaling will do nothing to fulfill the mission of the military.

Germany, as we well know with its Russian gas capers, is a highly industrialized society in need of a lot of energy. Fine and dandy. But how they get it presents increasingly bad options. They got rid of their nuclear power in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear meltdown after a big earthquake in Japan, (despite Germany not being in a quake zone), driving themselves to dependency on foreign suppliers. That's presented problems for them what with Russia filling that role, so their other recourse has been the one Joe Biden is touting for America: Green energy -- like wind and solar power. It's costly, requiring state subsidization,
