Wokeness Hits the Upper Echelons of the
Air Force

A few days ago, I noticed a disturbing tweet by Representative Dan Crenshaw about preferential treatment and lowered standards in the Air Force Special Tactics selection course. (snip) The gist of the story is that the Air Force Special Tactics community encountered wokeness, but resistance in the lower ranks sparked a backlash. Air Force Special Tactics provides Air Force experts who can ensure world-class Air Force support for any Special Operations team. They must be ready to join any Special Operations team on short notice, whether Navy SEALS, Army Green Berets, Rangers, or even more secretive units.

Civil Disobedience - in or out of the military - REQUIRES the willingness to sacrifice for Truth. And most of the time we don't believe whistleblowers who hide behind anonymity.

That idiot wokeness has always been a part of the AF, at least from the 70's to when I retired in 2000. The big shots came up with the most asinine things we were supposed to accept and even celebrate, and woe be to anyone who even suggests otherwise. Sometimes it was racial worship, sometimes gender worship, sometimes gay worship. Some stuff they just made up. Luckily they had the enlisted force who just rolled their eyes and kept the planes flying. Nobody buys that carp unless they are bucking for a promotion.

Winning wars has become so unfashionable and so un- hip. The fire chief has become an arsonist. Our industrial base must be destroyed as a way of making reparations for having been so successful for so long. This type of collective virtue signaling is bat guano crazy. ...... And being illogical and counter productive makes it even more fashionable. It doesn't matter how you feel...... it's how you look that is most important.

My godson (nephew also) is one of these men. A Combat Controller. They undertake missions such as parachuting out of a low flying plane, with 100+ pounds of equipment strapped to them, into a combat area. Upon touchdown, they unpack the equipment (advanced electronic communications equipment, mostly) set it up, and create a landing field for combat aircraft - during which they provide air traffic control (hence the name Combat Controller). Yes, he is strong enough to do this jump, and smart enough to be an air traffic controller. He, and his fellow officers, are exceptional fellows. I am familiar with this "dive test". They drop a brick (a little over 5 lbs) into a 10 foot deep swimming pool. You are to dive in and bring the brick to the surface, where you are expected to tread water and keep the brick above the water line. For several hours. My nephew is an excellent swimmer - most of my family is. He only lasted 2.5 hours. There are likely many men who could not do this. And this is just one part of the evaluation program. For this lady to quit, she must have been unable to do this or - worse - knowing she might drown, refused to do this. Unless she is an Olympic level swimmer, I know very few women who could do this - even if they wanted to.

My friend, a retired Lt. Col., saw this coming years ago. The culture of the AF was changing, and it was driving him crazy. It was the best move he ever made.

About twelve years ago, my son took the USAF officer qualification test. They called him a week later and said he could do anything he wanted in the Air Force. He decided against it. He's now a nurse practitioner, after years of work and study. Now I'm glad he turned them down. He's the first member of my lineage in five generations that didn't serve in the armed forces, and the first one in four generations that didn't serve in a war. I could not, in good conscience, advise any young man to join these days.

When Joe Biden speaks, sane people are horrified 18 replies

If there was any doubt that Joe Biden is unfit for the office of President of the United States, yesterday’s marathon press conference put such qualms to rest. (snip) It did not put anyone’s fear about Biden’s competency at rest. Faux reporters like Yamiche Alcindor and Jennifer Rubin swore Biden performed brilliantly but every rational person watching knew it was a “slow-motion train wreck.” The sad aspect of it all was that one could tell Biden thought he was dazzling his audience. He was, as usual, quick to anger when asked a question that intimated that he was less than the best President ever.

A Republican Never-Trump senator reveals

I recently wrote to my United States senator, a Republican Never Trumper, respectfully asking why the January 6th detainees are still in jail, with many still in solitary and not arraigned for what was essentially trespassing on public property (forgetting for the moment the role of FBI instigators). (Incidentally, we should all be writing). His reply saddened me profoundly. I received back a two-page harangue of how horrible January 6th was and how it imperiled our democracy. Buried within that harangue were unexpected admissions about the unconstitutional conditions in which far more prisoners are held than most people realize. Surprisingly enough, these admissions gave me hope.
The Political Timing of the End of the Pandemic 18 replies

At some point in the relatively near future, President Joe Biden will be handed a speech that will read something like this: “My Fellow Americans -- Our long national nightmare is over. The pandemic is a thing of the past and I am ordering the end of all federal COVID-related efforts and I implore those governors who have not lifted their emergency orders to do so immediately. It’s time for all of us to get back to normal.” Given Biden’s speech and cognition issues, he will most likely actually say ‘My Felericans -- our long natural fair is covered,” but that is beside the point

Here's what our COVID-1984 authoritarians want: they seek to use pandemics, wars, uncontrolled immigration, doomsday climate predictions, and "woke" cultural Marxism to keep people in a constant state of fear, divided among themselves, and willing to hand over their freedoms for evaporative promises of protection. "Protection" in this racket means survival but not life, equity but not fairness, financial handouts but not prosperity, and politically correct narratives but no truth. This last point deserves emphasis.

Vaccine mandates are one of many stifling measures brought on by the ongoing COVID pandemic, a consequence of those trying to “follow the science” and doing anything but or of government and bureaucrat officials using the opportunity to flex their authoritarian muscles.(snip)In a recent Yahoo Finance interview, [Pfizer CEO Albert] Bourla let the cat out of the vaccine bag, "And we know that the two doses of the vaccine offer very limited protection, if any. There is no way to recover national political standing once a politician becomes a popular butt of humor, a punchline in a degrading joke. Ask Dan Quayle, who has disappeared from the scene so completely that nobody has even gotten him on the record about the vice presidency of Kamala Harris. My guess is that he is enjoying bitter laughter. Last Thursday’s interview with Craig Melvin of Democrat-friendly NBC sealed her fate. The Zen koan-like statement, "It is time for us to do what we have been doing. And that time is every day," closes the case, a brilliantly meaningless platitude that seems to demand meditation,

Is Ray Epps the key to uncovering a deep state conspiracy that many of us have suspected for years? With what we have witnessed with Midyear Exam, Crossfire Hurricane, the Whitmer Kidnapping, the 2020 election, and now the January 6 “insurrection,” it has become obvious that our government is not that of a healthy functioning democratic republic. But the depths of the corruption, and how far bad actors are willing to go in corrupting our society, has largely remained hidden. But there are encouraging signs.

Almost a year ago, Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell agreed with majority leader Chuck Schumer to an equal power-sharing agreement for the upcoming session, reflecting the 50-50 split between the parties (with Kamala Harris as the tie-breaking vote). In exchange, McConnell agreed to allow the question of the filibuster’s continued existence to be brought up to a vote. He did so because Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema promised not to end the filibuster. That was an incredible gamble but, on Thursday, Manchin and Sinema came through on a filibuster vote. A furious Biden started hollering about the horrors of life without federalizing American elections

On Monday, Project Veritas released documents showing that an organization called EcoHealth Alliance approached the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (aka DARPA) seeking funding for its research into SARS viruses in rats, only to be turned down because of DARPA’s gain of function concerns. EcoHealth then turned to Fauci’s NIAID, which seemingly did research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology that led to COVID’s spread throughout the world. When quizzed about these documents before the Senate, Fauci denied the charges but, if you listen carefully, he denied a strawman of his own making. Monday’s bombshell was that DARPA refused to accept EcoHealth’s proposal for bat virus research in China.

I’m not sure what Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) thought he was going to get by pushing a vote on the Democratic effort to federalize elections (which they call ‘voting rights’) and on the filibuster. Schumer knew that he was likely to get a “no” on the filibuster from Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ). They’ve only been holding fast on the subject for months. Both also were very firm on the subject in speeches — Sinema earlier in the week and Manchin earlier on Wednesday. It wasn’t happening, they said. But Schumer decided to commit electoral suicide anyway, and he got it tonight.
