Public school students from New York, New Jersey, Oakland, Chicago, and other cities across the country staged walkouts this past week to protest the COVID-19 policies of districts that kept schools open.
“Many of us are worried about not only our health, but our teacher’s health, our janitor’s health, even our administration’s health,” one student said during a classroom walkout in Chicago.
Students protesting in downtown Chicago were seen carrying signs that read, “Not another student to COVID,” “The youth are not disposable,” and “You also tested positive for profiting off-putting teachers & students in unsafe conditions.”

Of course they have. They are the pawns and victims of Woke Education's lying propaganda. They walked out with Gretta Thunberg 3 years ago and walked out over other issues about which they had no actual knowledge. The students are told that their parents are idiots and that the world is a terrible place but can be saved by them - the Youth - if they rebel and destroy the 'system'.

Whatever... they'll be working for the kids who went to private schools one day (who somehow have attended school in-person for almost the entire length of the pandemic beginning in fall 2020).

A colleague told me that his daughter came home from school saying, "Daddy - you have to vote for the referendum - because I want to take music class, and if it fails, they told me that there might not be a music class for me to take." The dad did some digging and discovered the high salaries the administration was making already. He used the opportunity to teach his daughter. "Clarissa - the school says that this is not expensive. But when you have to pay more money, you have to sacrifice something. $500/family may not seem like much, but the money needs to come from somewhere. How about if I stop paying you and your brother's $5/week allowance? The money I save will help pay for the school referendum." "But, Daddy, where will I get money to spend?" "You'll just have to get it from somewhere else, Clarissa."

Kids protesting and striking to NOT go to school. And this is news? This and every bunch of idiot teenagers should be ignored. Remember all those widdle woke snowflakes last summer during the BLM riots. What a pack of stupid humans.
That said, go ahead and close all public schools permanently. Fire every teacher. Modern education in this country is a farce and a make work scam for lazy, entitled liberals who want their cake and want to eat it too. Break the gravy train of failure cycle.
The tax dollars should follow the kid and teachers should be forced to get results in the private marketplace like everyone else. Make parents finally have to THINK about their kid's education and make good choices... and yes some kids with stupid parents will be let down. That is called life. But a lot more valuable, productive citizens will be produced in the end.

Not to be so cynically positive here but I’m thinking they are also vaxed and their reproductive system is therefore compromised.

Well, put them to work shoveling snow and tending the fields. Can't have them hanging out on street corners.

I wonder how much the kiddos and/or their parents were paid.

Allow the parents to decide if they want to keep their children home ...don't punish the entire group of children for the action of a few. My guess is the majority of parents want their children in school.
