Man Battling Severe COVID Moved to Texas
Hospital as Doctors Plan to Turn Off Ventilator

Original Article

A Minnesota woman's battle to keep her husband on a ventilator months after contracting COVID-19 has bought him more time, albeit in a hospital out of their home state of Minnesota. Anne Quiner filed a lawsuit against Mercy Hospital near Minneapolis after she was advised that doctors planned to take her husband, Scott Quiner, off a ventilator. A judge granted her request for a temporary stay for the case to proceed and days later, Scott was moved to a facility in Texas, where he remains intubated.

Comments:

Article says he is slowly improving in the new facility. If you go into a hospital with COVID, NEVER let them put you on a ventilator!! It is a quick ticket to the morgue!!

I fought successfully while in the ICU with Delta to stay off the ventilator, and I believe to this day that the fact that I stayed off of it, and had a doctor that got me monoclonal treatment, is the reason I am still here. I do have lung damage and reduced capacity, but at least I am still here. There were more than one in the time I was in ICU that cannot say that, and every one of them was intubated. COVID Delta is no joke for many people.

He’s in a red state so he’s probably getting all of the “controversial” and banned treatments he was denied in his home state. I wish him the best. If he survives, he should sue Mercy (how’s that for an ironic name?) Hospital into the dirt.

I agree with other posters. My BIL was in his eighties, but in excellent health. Didn't smoke or drink and was a farmer all his life. He had gotten therapy for covid and was doing well. His oxygen levels declined and he was put on the ventilator. He didn't make it through the night.

FBI agents have been spotted conducting a 'court-authorized' investigation at the Texas home of United States Representative Henry Cuellar, who has vowed to cooperate fully. Federal agents were seen inside and around Cuellar's mansion in Laredo on Wednesday, where they took photos of trucks parked in the circular drive out front, The Monitor reported. In a statement, the FBI remained tight-lipped about the reason for the visit, but confirmed that it was part of an 'ongoing investigation.' 'The FBI was present in the vicinity of Windridge Drive and Estate Drive in Laredo conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity,' a Bureau spokesperson said.

President Biden’s marathon two-hour press conference Wednesday was an exercise in self-delusion. The reality of American voters’ lived experience of his presidency is evident in his plummeting polls after a hellish first year of self-inflicted crises, from Afghanistan to inflation to illegal migration. And yet the president declared to the world that he is doing a tremendous job and has “achieved more than any president in history.” He blamed Republicans for any stumbles, despite the fact that his party controls the White House, the House and the Senate. Only a couple of things would he do differently, he said.

From the moment COVID-19 appeared, the pandemic became inseparable from politics. Political frenzy was inevitable since the SARS-CoV-2 virus may have escaped from a level-4-security virology lab in Wuhan, China. The rapid-fire spread soon threatened to indict the Chinese Communist government for nearly destroying the world economy and killing millions. Western elites, in response, feared that their own lucrative investments in China would be jeopardized by such disclosures — and so acted accordingly in defending Beijing. Nonetheless, one scenario that remains intriguing is that the escaped virus was birthed by gain-of-function research scientists, overseen by elements of the Chinese Communist military. Worse, the lab was given subsidies by US health authorities,

The stink of Biden's failure permeates the land, reeking intensely not unlike Eric Swalwell’s Volvo with the windows shut tight on a hot day on the way home from a double-bean chili feed at Fang Fang’s condo. Welcome to the malaise, kids. Welcome to what we all hope turns out to be merely Jimmy Carter 2.0 rather than James Buchannan 2.0. Pray we dodge those bullets, literally. As RedState reported previously, the Florida Senate, led by Republican Wilton Simpson (currently endorsed by Donald Trump to run for Agriculture Commissioner), released two “final” Congressional redistricting map proposals a week ago. To be frank, those maps were an absolute giveaway to Democrats, taking things from the current 16-11 R to D map to a 16-12 R to D map. It was beyond comprehension why any Florida Republican would look to surrender on redistricting in the face of massive gerrymanders by Democrats in states like California, Illinois, New York, and Maryland. It mimicked the inexplicable proposal coming from GOP leadership in Missouri.

Second, there are staff shortages. However, there is another problem hanging out there for the Biden administration. It's a 4-letter word. It's "jobs," as we read in this New York Post editorial: It’s not just inflation dogging the US economy: Unexpectedly high jobless claims last week serve as a reminder that America’s labor market, too, remains messed up — even as President Joe Biden claims he’s making “progress” on the economy.

Joe Biden was declared the winner over Donald Trump in the state by 20,682 votes. Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Michael Bohren issued the decision in a lawsuit that had been filed on behalf of two voters by the Wisconsin Institute of Law & Liberty (WILL). WILL argued that the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) had unilaterally issued guidance to election clerks, authorizing the use of ballot collection boxes, in contradiction of state law. “The guidance from the Wisconsin Elections Commission on absentee ballot drop boxes was unlawful.

Senior Senate Democrats are insisting that universal mail-in ballots and voter drop boxes, measures included in their election overhaul legislation, help to fight racism. Sen. And that is voter suppression and limiting people’s freedom to vote.”
